  1. I'm delighted to announce that as of this afternoon, Gersnet is the proud owner of one Club 1872 lifetime membership of Rangers First (see below).

The grand total of pledges currently stands at £1435, the vast majority of which has already been collected, so Bluedell is in the process of purchasing the promised FIVE BuyRangers Community Shares at £125 each via PLGsArmy.

Once we've collected the outstanding monies we should have a further £310 to split between the schemes.

Massive thanks to Bluedell for picking up all the payment admin and to everyone on the Forum for their cash and words of encouragement. What a great start to the weekend!

  2. Yeah my usual forum approach, find somewhere that you get good accurate information and debate free from the usual trolling or other nonsense then stick to it, but with everything that's going on with the club right now I saw the forum share collection and felt I had to contribute and that meant I had to register :-)

Welcome and thanks for the pledge!

There's a good bunch of guys on here and it tends to stay fairly civilised even when there's a disagreement, so you should feel right at home.

  3. The Rangers Supporters Trust is delighted to announce that following a further share purchase we have now moved over the one million share mark. We now hold 1,000,009 shares in the club.

This purchase has been possible due to the huge support we have received from fans in the past few weeks. We have seen thousands of new members and contributions to Buy Rangers ranging from £5 a month direct debits to £10,000 one off purchases. With the continuing support of our membership, and what we hope will be a continuing stream of new members, we will endeavour to further increase our shareholding in advance of the crucial upcoming EGM.

You can join us and set up payments via direct debit or a lump sum. We are particularly encouraged by the number of overseas fans using our new direct debit facility. Please support the RST and let's take back our club together. http://www.therst.co.uk/buyrangers

    Outstanding!

And presumably a massive increase in proxies for the RST too.

  4. Ok, so a quick update for those who have pledged so far.

We're now at a grand total of £1340 as at noon today.

Bluedell has a list of those who contacted me and a note of their pledge amounts, plus any stated preference regarding which scheme to support. He will contact everyone by PM in the next 24 hours.

I'd be grateful if you'd keep an eye open for that PM and try to act upon it promptly, so that we can make the donations to RF and BR, giving them as much time as possible before the EGM to actually use it for share purchases.

The plan is to use the first £500 collected for the Club 1872 membership.

We'll then use the next £625 to purchase 5 Community Shares via the RST.

That leaves a residual £215 at the moment and we'll leave the thread open for a few days to see if we get any more donations through, before deciding what to do with the balance (i.e. Another Club 1872 membership, more Community Shares or a straight forward cash donation). Whatever we do, we'll try and stick to a rough 50/50 split between the schemes.

I'm proposing that Bluedell, as a long standing and well respected member of the Forum, will be the Gersnet point of contact with both Schemes. I trust that's ok with everyone.

Finally, I've asked Bluedell to send me images of the receipts so that we can post them on here and also on Twitter to give the Forum a bit of publicity (which I'll do under my Twitter handle which is the same as my Forum name).

That's it for now, but if you have any questions, just PM myself or Bluedell or post them on the Thread.

Once again, thanks to everyone for stepping up and doing your bit to help get our Club back.

  5. We could possible look to do this every say 3 or 4 months , that way everyone isnt getting hammered and people could stick a couple of pounds away each week , even just save the change out their pockets into a jar etc

I think if people want to make a regular contribution, there are probably easier ways to do so rbr, certainly from an admin perspective. For me this is about getting in a lump sum now. Happy to listen to feedback though.

In other news, we're now at £795, so BuyRangers will be getting a life membership from Gersnet and we're working towards our second Community Share.

  6. Should maybe keep this open for a few days so we can get as much investment as possible into both schemes. Great progress considering it's only been open a few hours.

Thanks, I'll discuss with Bluedell. I'd rather it was short and sharp, but It'll take a few days to collect in the cash anyway. Once we're over £725, anything else can go to additional Community Shares and a pure donation to one of the schemes for any residual amount.
