I would certainly be up for this - a Gersnet RF lifetime membership would be good - I'm in Bermuda so no sense me doing the holding of cash - perhaps Bluedell could ? Perhaps find out what the appetite is for this first to see if we can get enough for the 1872 membership ?
Cool. I'll start a separate thread tonight when I get home to give it a bit higher profile.
Thanks Craig.

I see The Gers Forum raised £1000 in 24 hours to buy 2 x Rangers First Lifetime Memberships.
I know there are lots of RST members on Gersnet (myself included) and some of them might not want to support a rival scheme, but RF seem to allow Clubs to join, whereas the RST don't as far as I know.
We'd have to sort out who collects the cash and how any future votes would be handled, but I'd be up for it.
So, is there any appetite for a one-off donation as a Gersnet collective, or is it easier for everyone to do their own thing if they feel inclined to support one of the fan ownership schemes?

Could be some more big news coming out of RST HQ by the end of today....stay tuned! :-) In the meantime sign up here: http://www.therst.co.uk/buy-rangers/
Oh you are a tease! [emoji36]

There is nothing to condemn from that footage. If someone got hurt, then that is unfortunate.
Then I have much higher standards for the Rangers support than you do.

No, I'm not a big fan of the way they do things in Rome. [emoji6]

If the word assault hadn't been mentioned by folk who were neither there nor have video evidence of such a thing happening, then there would have been no need for it to be debated. Why do you think that it's ok for premature accusations to be levelled at Rangers supporters?
How can you say there's no video evidence?
If your point is that we shouldn't rush to judgement regarding criminality, fine, I accept that.
However, I still condemn what I saw on that uTube video, whether it turns out to be assault or otherwise. Do you?

what I saw was people crushed against a door and propelled by the weight of the crowd behind them. I thought those who were through the door were like corks popping out of a bottle......I doubt the lady was intentionally pushed.
Somebody had better start apologising pronto then.

Yet that is something which you cannot even begin to make a call on.
I've watched a video in which someone pushes back the female employee who staggers back two or three steps.
Even if no charges follow, it doesn't make it acceptable in my eyes.

Nope. Accidentally pulling someone's hair is not classed as assault. That is why you should be very careful about what you say unless you have proof of wrongdoing.
That is true.

Can you explain what you mean by "some degree of assault"? There was either intent or there wasn't.
I mean intentional physical contact with another person without their consent.

he pulled my hair is not the same as being dragged across the floor by my hair. same as where are the broken windows and doors?
the poor lady is in a highly emotional state and is also seen to tell innocent bears who should b
e there to get to fuck. would wait and see what the cctv shows and if any are found guilty.
if as alledged is shown would happily hunt down the culprits myself
Pulling someone's hair is assault.

I'm not disputing that something happened, that has already been established, so your facetious comment about black ops fell flat on it's arse, but there have been accusations of assault flying around, but without any unequivocal proof to back them up. You appeared to be insinuating such, which is why I asked you for an explanation.
I'm sorry my attempt at humour failed so miserably for you, but thanks for the feedback. Perhaps I'll try terse and abrasive next time.
The video, subsequent comments of SoS and the involvement of Police Scotland are enough to convince me that some degree of assault took place.
Whether that's beyond reasonable doubt I'll leave to the lawyers to decide, but IMO it's incontrovertible that their actions were a stupid and profoundly unhelpful distraction.

Ashely and the board will be trying to get support from anywhere. I will not be surprised if a large block of shares end up in the bad guy's hands. After all they have millions to lose so putting in a few mill would soon be recycled. There aren't many "neutral" institutional shareholders left and only River and Mercantile would make enough of a difference to make it worthwhile.
They've already sold some to King and I'm sure that he'll have an agreement with them that they'll vote the right way.
I guess someone could make them an offer they couldn't refuse, but I doubt it.

No, I meant be unequivocal about what actually happened. There are plenty of unsubstantiated rumours doing the rounds.
I've seen the uTube footage referred to in post #191. It's shot from the inside of the foyer and you can hear a woman complaining about having had her hair pulled.
Unless the Board have set up some sort of black ops unit faking footage to discredit their opponents, then it's clear to me that some fans crossed the line of what's acceptable in a peaceful protest.
Craig Houston also seems to be convinced of that judging by his comments on the matter.

The only part of your argument I am going to argue against is that it would have been downright stupid for any genuine bears as you say to jump into action. For one it could only esculate things and for two, once you are a part of the melee the police cannot distinghuish who is who so you become one of the wrongdoers in their eyes and could be arrested. Sorry I don't agree with that bit.
Fair enough Pete. It's not easy to say what any of us would have done had we been standing next to the lads who were forcing their way in.
I'd like to think that I would have said or done something though, especially if I could see that a woman and a pensioner were being assaulted.

Yes, please do.
I think I was pretty clear.

i am not convinced the protests were infiltrated and i am not impressed anyone was hurt.
however i can not fathom rangers supporting staff protecting the rats and i full support the notion of a peaceful occupation of our home.
They were trying to do the job they were paid to do.
This wasn't some romantic, well planned and marshalled UCS-style work-in. This was a bunch of young hot-heads trying to force entry to Argyle House where they had no legitimate right to be. The idea that it was infiltrated by non fans is laughable - just apologists being afraid to confront unacceptable behaviour from within our own ranks.
All the neds succeeded in doing was deflect some attention from the official protest and give ammunition to those who would want to do us harm at every opportunity. If they were infiltrators, why did no genuine Bears try and stop them?
No, there's a world of difference between that behaviour and a group of people, say, refusing to leave the ground at the end of a match. To be honest, I probably wouldn't support that at the moment either, but as a last resort it might be justifiable.
I just think we need to be unequivocal about what happened at Argyle House. It was wrong and those responsible should turn themselves in or be pointed out to the Police.

Thanks for pointing out the Cazenove one mate. Do you have a link to the announcement by any chance?
Regarding Miton, I added them in at 800k shares because it appeared from looking at the numbers that they didn't actually sell their whole shareholding to Dave King.
That calculation was based on what Artemis and R&M definitely sold to Dave King and subtracted from the total number of shares acquired by Dave King's company with the remainder being the number of shares sold to Dave King by Miton.
If that's wrong or anyone has any other updated info, then please point it out!
Thanks Zappa.
I don't have an official announcement, but it's mentioned in the CRO interview with Colin Kingsnorth from Laxey. http://www.thecoplandroad.org/2013/08/laxey-partners-speak-to-cro.html?m=1
As for Miton, the BBC reported that the "sold up" because they no longer saw value in their investment, but I've not done the arithmetic that you have. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/30667547.app

This was a post from Zappa a few pages ago.
Cazenove sold to Laxey in 2013 and Miton sold to King earlier this month.

Well cant be pressure be brought to bear on the NOMAD ....or can he not be called to account for not operating in the best interests of RangersIf you want to be charitable, the AIM (the market for smaller companies that RIFC is listed on) is "lightly regulated". Otherwise it's a snake pit.
However, I'm sure King's preferred replacement NOMAD will be particularly interested in ensuring that the rules are being adhered to.

If everyone votes as expected then isn't the EGM result a formality? Will the incumbent directors resign before then ? If that happened would there be any need for an EGM?
As FS said, normally the NOMAD would ensure that the outgoing Board departed without the need for the EGM if it was a done deal (which I think it probably is).
Knowing our luck, they'll be allowed to hang on for as long as possible. I just hope they don't buy £10m of Sports Direct vouchers in the meantime...

Cheers rbr!
Standing on the shoulders of giants etc!
I was trying to remember who brought it up and in which thread, but gave up eventually.
On a flight home, but will get on the case ASAP tonight with a separate thread (I'm hopeless on this phone)!
