McMurdo's latest, not one positive thing to say about the 3 Bears!
Mountain Bear replied to Siam69's topic in Rangers Chat
Ashley had the option to support the share issue or increase his holding via the purchase of existing stock. We all know what he chose and that it made further loans (from him) inevitable. The 3 Bears, have no opportunity to buy into a share issue at the moment, but their offer to do so is currently awaiting a response from the quisling Somers. Therein lies the very obvious difference in the two scenarios. Please stop insulting our intelligence with this pathetic drivel Bill.- 67 replies

Same to you RBR and all the other Gersnetters. Let's hope 2015 is the year of the Bear!

Given that I've just posted a RangersFirst link, I'd better balance that with an RST one! http://www.therst.co.uk/join/

They need to raise £3500 to fund the campaign. As you say, this can't come from regular donations, as those are purely for share purchases. Anyone wanting to support this can donate online: http://www.rangersfirst.org/january-2015-advertising-campaign/

SoS What Ashley really got for returning stadium naming rights
Mountain Bear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
As did the sale of our stadium's naming rights for £1. -
SoS What Ashley really got for returning stadium naming rights
Mountain Bear replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Perhaps some do believe that, but the enmity towards SoS predated any calls for a boycott. -
If these guys get 30% and ordinary fans step up through RF / BR to maintain or increase their current share, we'd be nearly there. Can we dare to hope?

Nothing of any substance. Which makes the bile and bitterness aimed at them from some sections of the support even more difficult to fathom. -
Not very bright then, are they. Makes it even more depressing that they've been able to run rings around the good guys for 3 years.
-
Not sure I get the logic, or the nature of the bluff GS. Assume you mean that they were trying to force the SFA's hand into accepting MA's request to increase his holding? If so, by voting against that resolution, they've just signposted their true intentions.
-
But it just makes it even more obvious when a director with shares and proxies amounting to 29% then votes against it. Surely better not to have the resolution at all and therefore draw less attention to your opposition to the principle?

Well said Craig.

The bit I'm struggling to fathom is why members of the Board voted against their own resolution (#9) at the AGM. Even by our own recent standards, that's just bizarre. Obviously, there's been a late change of mind after the resolutions were made public, so perhaps it's a result of the shifting balance of power within Ibrox.
-
I'm sorry it didn't work out for them as a management team, but Durrant and McCoist were, are and will remain Rangers legends for me. I hope Andy is right about Durrant as U20 coach, but it must be hard when your protégés don't have the same natural ability that you did.

SFA block Ashley from increasing Rangers stake

That's certainly true. -
SFA block Ashley from increasing Rangers stake

I don't see what GreenCo could hope to achieve by that. Ashley would be the major creditor and the other shareholders would get less than even a fire sale to Dave King would generate. -
SFA block Ashley from increasing Rangers stake
Mountain Bear replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Our existing shareholders have a choice between: 1: Stumping up more cash in a new share issue (can't see that happening). 2: Yet more Ashley loans secured on whatever assets he decides to ask for. 3: Selling out to Dave King for much less than they've been willing to contemplate thus far, or 4: Accepting his offer of a multi million £ investment, thereby diluting their holdings. This could either be achieved by selling their rights in a new issue, or reversing the AGM decision on resolution 9. I'd prefer to see #3 or #4, but #2 looks favourite to me. -
What next? Shareholders voted against the resolution which would have allowed DK to invest substantial new money via a share issue. MA isn't allowed to invest new money and the other shareholders don't seem to have the appetite to invest new money. So, does GreenCo sell out to Dave King for less than they originally wanted, does Ashley continue to bail out the Club via cheap loans, but with progressively more and more of the assets being taken as collateral, or does DK pick up a sizeable stake in the company by buying other shareholders' rights in a share issue? Buckle up everyone, it could get bumpy!

Very fitting. Nice to see at least one part of Ibrox being looked after.

I remember now, he complained in an email about his "poor level of remuneration" - £2.5k / day - when discussing a certain supporter's request to view the Directors' service agreements...[emoji9]
-
I'd also suggest that he has breached his fiduciary duty to RIFC. The email doesn't indicate that Rangers' best interests played much of a role in his actions regarding the Dave King funding package.
