No. Pure accident that there was a photographer there to capture the moment. Absolutely not the latest in a series of phantom investment stories designed to encourage takeover bids. -
Fan board elections now closed as of Saturday 20 September

Bennett said at the time that he'd reached the same conclusion as Mr Harris independently and that his name had been released prematurely. Surely that is an example of a good judgement call? Mr Harris was also influential in getting Jim McColl to agree to underwrite the fans' offer to acquire the Club from SDM for £30M in 2010. -
Seen any uplift in interest in recent days?

A very fair point. However, I draw the line when someone faced with the question "What relevant experience do you bring" answers "None". Sometimes brutal honesty just isn't enough. -
Indeed, but it's down to everyone to push it, not just RF. Retweet, tell your mates at the games etc, etc.

The Fans Board may or may not be worthwhile, but it's happening regardless and as such I'd rather have a couple of individuals on it whom I know a little from their postings here and who's views I respect (even if I don't always agree with them 100%). -

They've both got my vote. I read each and every biog last night. Fair to say that the quality in some categories is, ahem, "variable". -
Indeed. The total is up by >100 since post #23, less than a day ago. Obviously that's not going to happen every day (a combination of the Imran arrestment, the share offer, a great video from RF and payday probably make yesterday exceptional), but there's momentum which we can build on. A few stands outside Ibrox on match days with a couple of high profile ex players like Albertz there to draw attention and I really think we'd get to 5k pretty quickly. The only problem is that RF really need the £500 life memberships right now, rather than the S/Os (which obviously are great for the long term).

Why is there so much hatred towards SOS, UOF etc?

As the saying goes, "there are none so blind that will not see". -

Partly personality clashes I guess, but mostly it's because some fans can't differentiate between criticism of those who run the Club and criticism of the Club itself. -
We've put on 50 in 24 hours. At this rate of progress we'll get 20,000 signed up in just over a year!

Easdale's Interview that just helped Ahmad win
Mountain Bear replied to Ser Barristan Selmy's topic in Rangers Chat
So either Easdale didn't realise the implication of his actions, is therefore way beyond stupid and should be relieved of his duties, OR, he was deliberately acting against the interests of the Club by engineering a situation which enhanced Imran's chances of having the funds arrested, in which case he should be relieved of his duties. -
Rangersfirst questions answered and amazing video
Mountain Bear replied to rbr's topic in Rangers Chat
It is indeed. But the challenge is now to get online Bears to talk about it to their friends, colleagues and the people they sit with at games. -
Why don't you ask them? They are very responsive on Twitter. Personally I disagree that it's a poor statement. Their objective is fan influence, which doesn't require full ownership per se. In their material they outline the rights conveyed by attaining various percentage shareholdings and their first goal is 5%. I think it's important that their goals seem achievable, so breaking it down like that makes perfect sense.

In their own words: "The primary aim of Rangers First is to purchase a substantial shareholding in Rangers FC and thereafter to ensure a stable financial future where all funds generated by the club, Rangers FC and the fans are reinvested in the football club." Sounds like they aspire to being more than a fringe player to me. Genuine fan influence doesn't require a 51% holding, which is probably why "ownership" isn't the stated goal.

I understand there have been discussions with High Net Worth Individuals about them buying the maximum possible number of shares for Rangers First, to be repaid from future membership donations. They are also selling life memberships for £500. 1872 of those would generate the best part of £1m. Others may be content to stand back and watch events unfold, but despite being absolutely clear about the risks involved, I choose to do what I can now.

The Club's rooked and we're all pawns in the power game. Perhaps it's time for the pawns to get promoted though. Rangers First are pushing hard for funds today. -
Dreadful news. I only met Gordon once, at the Gersnet dinner last year, but it felt like meeting an old friend & kindred spirt, because I invariably agreed with his measured tone and insightful comments. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Don't worry mate, I'd not met many of the guys before the last meal and I had a great time, as I'm sure you will do too.

That's me paid up BH. Thanks for taking on the organising role again and let's hope the meal isn't the only highlight of the season!

With a market cap of just £17m, Charles' £30m asking price for control of the Club is looking rather optimistic these days. Obviously the price per share would increase if someone wanted to buy serious volumes, but Buy Rangers / Rangers First should be shouting from the rooftops that less than £10m would get them effective control.
