  1. The lawyers have threatened to sue SoS because of defamatory remarks made by others on the SoS Facebook page, which he hadn't been able to control. One of the lawyers accidentally (?) replied to all in an email to a colleague saying the time had come to go after them. Jack Irvine then apparently said in a PM that they were going to go after SoS's house, car etc. Frankie has frequently referred to the legal risks to the owner of a site if posters overstep the mark, but for the club to sanction that type of heavy handed approach towards one of our own, while they let far more serious transgressions from outside the Rangers family go unchallenged, is absolutely shameful.
  2. I think introducing a regular sprinkling of young guns will help the team (more competition for places) and keep the fans engaged. I'd like to finish the league season unbeaten, but I'd risk a loss or two to give them a chance. The cups are a different matter, we'll need our first 11 to be firing on all cylinders for those games. If we play as we did against Dunfermline, or in the first half last night, we needn't fear anyone.
  3. Sounds fine on all counts. Personally, I'm happy to pay the full amount up front. Thanks again for organising. These things usually end up being more complicated than envisaged at the outset!
  4. No need to open a bank account specifically for this event IMO. Very relaxed about trusting you with my deposit.
  5. I respect your stance, but determining when we have that board is going to be a pretty subjective judgement now that most of the contentious figures have left the stage. For all our sakes, I hope you feel able to come back soon.
  6. Just out of interest, what will need to change before you're prepared to come back?
  7. Can I just check whether dinner is still on the menu? Know that you've got a lot on with Rangers First at the moment.
  8. Just be glad he didn't turn you into a frog.
  9. Dicing with another administration is a VERY dangerous game. There's no guarantee that the good guys end up with the assets afterwards, even if we think we can cope with the points deduction. On the other hand, we are the lifeblood of the club and if the board won't take our views seriously, then they need to be brought to their senses. On balance, I'm willing to take the risk of pooling the season ticket cash, as the Laxey loan debacle was the final straw for me.
  10. What I can't understand about this whole episode is that our highly paid PR expert didn't anticipate that this loan arrangement would cause a shitstorm and advise the board to find other alternatives. That, combined with the "it was all part of the business plan" statement from Wallace, makes me wonder whether this loan was part of a pre AGM agreement to secure Laxey's support for the board. Damn, caught being cynical again...
  11. I wonder if a CIC could be the type of collective vehicle Mr King had in mind when he was urging fans to pool their season ticket monies rather than give them directly to the Club...
  12. Fan power equals mob rule? Really Bill?
  13. Our third Nomad in a couple of years. The NOMAD which likes to say "yes" perhaps? I'm sure that's way too cynical of course...
  14. As with many footballers I've heard over the years, the ones using English as a second language often have better vocabulary and grammar than the locals. If it's good enough for Shakespeare (in "Othello" IV.ii.146: "Some such Squire he was That turn'd your wits the seamy-side without, And made you to suspect me with the Moore."), it's good enough for Gersnet.
  15. If I'd lost £20m on Rangers, I'd be making very sure that any additional investment benefited the Club and not anyone else, so I don't blame King for playing the long game. Given it's only a matter of weeks since Wallace said we didn't need any additional working capital in the short to medium term, I think it's perfectly legitimate for fans groups to ask 1) why do we need the loan now 2) what will it be used for and 3) is this source of funding the best of the available options?
  16. Dunno. Maybe he's a man of principle and means what he says? Or maybe the best opportunities had passed by the time he settled the South African tax issues.
  17. I'm fairly ambivalent about King. I'd prefer him to the current lot, but I want the fans to have a bigger stake more. I do believe that he genuinely wants any money he puts into Rangers to go to the club rather than lining other people's pockets. The main problem King has is that the Board don't seem to want to share control via a share issue. Even if he did want to buy a sizable stake from existing holders, he wouldn't be able to do so at the current price - he would just drive the price up.
  18. Perhaps we need to introduce RM to some of Amms' wolves from the Stenny preview thread...
