  1. I'm sure that the current board (or more likely their backers) are frantically trying to find some credible candidates to put up for election at the AGM as an alternative to McColl's nominees and the Nomad will be taking a close interest in that process, if they're not actively leading it themselves that is. So, I strongly suspect Jack doesn't know when the AGM will be. I'll be a happy man when my Club stop releasing these "unofficial" official statements, which only try to score petty points rather than provide information and cost a fortune in the process. That we're paying for this dross while we "let go" of our Comms Director is quite farcical.
  2. Although it would be a nice stat for the Club, if we're home and dry well before Easter, we should be focusing on giving more game time to the younger players. If that means we drop points occasionally, so be it.
  3. There is no need to refer to Celtic, Catholicism or paramilitaries in any of our songs. Let's ignore the great obsessed and focus on football songs about our club. Andy's right about the commercial damage and it's also one of the principal reasons why supporters of other clubs were so keen to stick the boot in when we were on our knees. I'd really like to see the Club and supporters working together to find old and new songs which get Ibrox bouncing, but which don't hurt us elsewhere. Like it or not, addressing some of the negative external perceptions of our Club was an important part of our journey back to the top. Unfortunately, the great opportunity we had to do this in the lower leagues is being lost amid all the boardroom machinations.
  4. When assessing any business, the quality of the management team is right at the top of the list of things to look for. Fix that and in most circumstances everything else falls into place eventually - particularly in terms of accessing new capital. Failing to confirm the additional names they have in mind was the only real disappointment for me.
  5. Not too many suspects left... Perhaps a better question might be which shareholders don't want him.
  6. Another excellent piece from Wilson. I'd still like to know whether the previous Nomads jumped, because they didn't need the hassle of such a dysfunctional company, or whether they were pushed for not being sufficiently pliable. Worrying, but not entirely surprising, to hear that the current incumbents are out of their depth, but worse things could happen than if the AIM had to step in and sort it out.
  7. That's one fine young man in the making. All the best Jamie.
  8. There's something fishy about that story...
  9. Scraping the barrel after failing to get the results they wanted from the BIg Tax Case, the independent Commission, ASA, BBC Trust etc, etc, etc. Desperate, sad and very embarrassing for them.
  10. If anything, they are guilty of trying to challenge some of the more extreme reactions they receive. If you characterise that as spoiling for a fight, then so be it, but I don't. The real issue for me is that some people (and I don't necessarily mean you) seem to equate any criticism, or even questioning, of the Board as a form of disloyalty to the Club which cannot be tolerated. That is just bizarre.
  11. Do you not find the lack of respect and common courtesy shown to fellow supporters by some people really depressing? You can include me among your cry baby hand-wringers if you like, but I'm no silly wee laddie and have no agenda other that a wish to be be more vigilant when it comes to the way my Club is run. SoS set out 3 main aims in a desire to achieve transparency and hold those who run our Club to account for their actions, in a way that most of the various internet warriors among our many factions would be too busy feuding with each other to even consider. They have actually done something, not just typed about it. They have asked pertinent questions and got others doing likewise. The responses from the current board displayed at a minimum that they are out of their depth. The Board should feel under pressure. They issued an IPO which mentioned nothing about using funds to cover Pre IPO costs, they've spent the cash without delivering the promised new revenue streams, they've behaved like squabbling children (posting embarrassing videos of each other on line), they've spent our money on PR & legal fees aimed at denigrating and gagging legitimate protest, they've missed their financial forecasts by a country mile (and then say it was predicted), they exploit details of company law to prevent a free discussion and a vote re new directors, but they issue AGM resolutions they admit they don't understand, they pay themselves bonuses which they eventually realise were inappropriate (when fans point that out), they give pay-offs to people who have embarrassed the club and then rehire them. I could go on, but you get the point... From now until the end of time, every Rangers board member should feel like they are under severe scrutiny. They should be clear about the standards of decorum and governance expected of them. Anything less and we, the supporters, have learned nothing from the chaos of the past 2 years. SOS walk the talk. Do you?
  12. "...albeit I have my private thoughts as to certain individuals that might add value to the club going forward." Playing the long game?
  13. Joseph Millson was the lead, whom I'd not seen before, but Billy Boyd (from Lord of the Rings) was Banquo. It was real hands on the stage, splashed with fake blood, stuff. Magnificent.
  14. :D OT I know, but I saw Macbeth at Shakespeare's Globe a couple of weeks ago. £5 for a standing ticket in the afternoon, which is easily the best value for money I've ever received. By the end, despite all the evil he's responsible for, it's hard not to feel some sympathy for such a tortured soul who has had his head turned by the opportunity for wealth and power. The same applies to Macbeth!
  15. Spot on. Any risks the investors took were fully reflected in the laughably low purchase price they paid for the assets.
  16. So they follow the rules fastidiously re accepting nominations for alternative directors, but draft AGM resolutions they don't even understand.
  17. Excellent questions and I think your suggested approach is spot on too. I asked how they planned to honour the outstanding IPO commitments, why we'd changed NOMAD yet again given the poor impression this gives to the investment community and whether they would publish a detailed breakdown of the IPO costs showing who was paid what and why. I couldn't help also asking whether transparency wasn't cheaper than PR & legal fees ...
  18. Agreed, I've got immense respect and admiration for the guy and hope he gets a few cameo appearances back in the top flight to complete his and our respective journeys, but I can't see how he could expect to hold down a regular starting position. Hope and expect to see Wallace as captain as soon as Jig can't command a regular place.
  19. I signed up as part of the Buy Rangers campaign, but I've only just left work in Edinburgh, so I won't make it. For what it's worth here's one unofficial proxy vote to sack the board...
  20. That's not my interpretation of what's being said. 5.1 to 5.4 outlines how prior to completion of the Asset Purchase Agreement, the purchasing entity was changed to Sevco Scotland. Sevco5088 had a binding agreement to buy the assets, but all parties agreed to switch to Sevco Scotland.
  21. Why so? The piece combines a mixture of fact and conjecture, but it's not difficult to decern which is which. After hearing that we are now paying lawyers to threaten supporters with legal action and then paying a PR company to tip off a banned organisation about it, the article certainly captures my feelings about the current Board. They may not be dishonest, but I've seen little or nothing from them which would justify their salaries. Quite the reverse, they seem bumbling, naive and lacking in experience or any gravitas. The sooner we can get some respected, high calibre business people to run the Club the better IMO.
  22. Is this because DJ's a pro and can do the job standing on one leg?
  23. Cheers mate. It has certainly had a low profile recently, apart from joint statements.
  24. Do you know what the Assembly's main issue with it is? Concern over loss of influence, or a more principled objection?
