  1. A fair compromise would be to fully compensate any club who's lost money to us (such as Hearts), and leave it at that. The 3 year Euro ban is enough.
  2. Is that an opinion Frankie or some inside info? I don't see why it makes sense for Smith & co to make a formal bid now when they don't know what league we're in, but by the same token if you're Green & Co and you can make a quick buck, even if not much, it's more than nothing and they're running a big risk if we're not in the SPL. Who knows, maybe Banstead Athletic will give us their place in the English league structure!! :-)
  3. Saying the right things again, but without any substance it will fall on deaf ears for now. We need action, not words.
  4. I know we're threatening a boycott, but to most clubs we take 10,000 fans per season to each ground, the equivalent of £250k give or take before the TV money, commercial revenues, etc are taken into account. I doubt any real fan would stop going to see Motherwell.
  5. Is the vote in private? Is it a show of hands? Anyone know?
  6. On what grounds? We've had our points penalty. Can't see that happening and can't see the SFA or SFL accepting it. If we apply to the SFL we go to the 3rd Division, they've made that clear.
  7. I know it's not going to happen, but I really hope we've exhausted the possibilities of moving down south, even to the conference. ps - I still don't understand how we can end up in Division 1. The SPL don't have that authority, and the SFL have said if we apply we'd need to go into Div 3? pps - If we go to the SFL will season ticket prices be revised, and how will we get an entire new team in given most players will have relegation release clauses.
  8. The First Division isn't even an option!! If it's not the SPL it's the 3rd division, the SPL can't vote to relegate us!!
  9. Do we need 8 votes to be allowed to stay in the SPL, or is it 8 votes to kick us out? What happens if it's 6-6 or 7-5?
  10. We're not a newco, a new company purchased Rangers Football Club from Duff & Phelps after the old company that owned us went bust. Rangers Football Club is still as it is. As the old company which owned us holds the SPL share, and since that company won't be liquidated for some time, they do have a vote and i'm pretty sure that as part of the takeover agreement Duff & Phelps would have delegated the vote to the new company which owns Rangers Football Club.
  11. I think we'll offer to support changing the voting structure to get rid of the 11-1 rule, and will then be in the SPL with no penalties other than possibly ensuring that all outstanding debt from the old company that owned Rangers is paid through prize money or whatevery by the new company which owns us.
  12. Surely it should be Rangers as our share has been sold to ourselves? Until someone says otherwise. I anticipate a high degree of pettiness by the SPL and you know who.
  13. Does anyone not have their renewal form yet?
  14. I'm all behind Walter and co, but my big concern is why they didn't pay more up from a few weeks ago. Ok, it lets Green take any flack from a newco, but if it was properly explained and they first tried to get a CVA I don't think anyone would have mind. Given Green's bid was only £8.5m, and McColl and co have much greater funds at their disposal, it remains a mystery.
  15. I think Green will sell quick, but he'll hope to start a bidding war before he does.
  16. Let's be clear here, Green hasn't bought a newco, Green's new company has purchased Rangers Football Club.
  17. What if Ally says categorically on camera he's staying, then tonight or tomorrow he's sacked or something happens which makes him rethink. He's best to keep quiet and talk to his backroom staff and players whilst seeing how it all pans out. Especially given the diabolical level of sports journalism in this country.
  18. What are you excited by? I've only just came on at lunch time so not fully aware of what's going on.
  19. Surely it's the extremes who have the loudest voices, and that can't represent the views of most fans. It'll be interesting to see how this 'dialogue' takes place.
  20. Those arguing for the 3rd, the reason we're given is its not as punishment but because we're a completely new club!! The logic in going there is flawed both ways.
  21. I don't know the answer to you gunslinger, but there must be some means. We're basically paying back Green's loan as it stands, so if that's the case i'd rather have an individual or consortium who looked at trying to finance the deal up front. I do agree though that the lack of trust in one supporters group is a problem, and to make it work we'd need to have a more united front.
  22. If every season ticket holder paid the £400 into a pot we'd have roughly £16m which would be enough to outbid green three times over. If we could double that and get £800 per head we could offer over 50p in the £1. Why hasn't this source of funding been purseued by the RST or others?
  23. If we were to be refused entry to the SPL and go to Div 3, it will be 4 years before we can qualify for Europe through the league, and 5 years before we can compete. Unless we win the Scottish Cup that means no European football until the 2016/17 season, after the next European Championships!! 2012/13 - Division 3 2013/14 - Division 2 2014/15 - Division 1 2015/16 - SPL 2016/17 - Can compete in Europe through league position If this happens how can Rangers (as we know it) survive. Realistically crowds will be down, there will be limited TV and sponsorship money, and no European income. Yes, other clubs will also be impacted, but us more than most. In my opinion, if this is what the SPL decide, then we should seriously look to join the English league structure at whatever level. If we could go in to League 2 or the Conference we'd have more income, bigger crowds, and in the time it would take us to qualify for Europe in Scotland, we'd be in the Championship or Premiership.
  24. Other big question would be whether he commented on the appeal process for our transfer ban.
  25. or how about the 'Rangers Lodge'?
