  1. maybe he was inspired...? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YAWKjMSDaI&feature=related]Lafferty song?[/ame] In all honesty, I am not impressed at such an arrogant celebration considering it was only the third time he'd scored this season. And that is as a forward. I know its good to have confidence, but one good shift and one good goal does not mean he has made it. Mind you, he is a Gers fan, and he may never score for us again... so why not enjoy it??
  2. I believe the trophy will be presented at the next home game after the league is won (assuming we win it away from home). It is VERY unlikely to go to the last day of the season, so even if that is an away game it is unlikely to happen! Nice idea though!
  3. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AN1sLMMRysM]YouTube- Boumsong Follow Follow[/ame] Poor show Sally!! Quality interview from the big man
  4. The Allan Hansen one went up quick enough... come on sally, hurry up!!
  5. Is it not the case that if you're good enough for rangers to pick you up, you're probably good enough to get picked up by celtic too? If you were that emotional a fan of either, you wouldn't play for the opposite side. IF, however, you are more of a football person, you just want to play the game and so are not as swayed by fan loyalty and go where ever you have the best chance of progressing... Imagine a youngster who is a huge fan, say like bomber is. Yes, you'd try and play at other teams, you'd sign for st mirren, or killie, or even possibly hibs or aberdeen, but celtic?? no chance! I don't think (most) professional players are fans in that sense thesedays, although there are a few. Barry would never sign for celtic, and given would never sign for us. hypothetically of course. I am surprised to hear that wilsons background is of the persecuted variety... not that it has made a difference to how he plays. John Grieg was a hearts fan as a boy...
  6. I watched the show last night, and it was actually quite good. unsuprisingly, the number of old firm players was evenly balanced. The biggest omission, in terms of SCOTLAND greats, was another ex-Ger, but that was not where he played his best or made his name: Braveheart Colin Hendry. The Scotland team I knew from the craig brown era which (despite mcleish and smiths best efforts) is the most successful in my lifetime, was epitomised by him. every word about Gough above is true. Just surprised Hendry didn't make it into the top 10... but the names there are legends too. tough job! Manager will be tough call, but goalkeeper? Surely its got to be Goram. Certainly won't be Haffey!!
  7. Bougie and Wilson have now starred in the same number of games as each other, with Wilson starting all 21 while bougie has had 20 starts plus 1 sub. Amazing. What is also pretty amazing, is both have had very similar disciplinary records: 1 red card each and very few yellows! (wilson has 1 and bougie - despite the tims thinking he is a dirty player - only has 2) Goals wise wilson has 1 and bougie 2. I think this just highlights how well wilson has done alongside weir in his rookie season!
  8. just as concerned with the managers contract jim! No news on that front??
  9. Agreed! He finally looked like he's got something that has warranted his reputation. I was also impressed with Little through the middle. If we get the league wrapped up with 5 games to go, we could very well get some of the youngsters getting a good 2 or 3 games, blooding in the team for next year so we know they are capable when called upon in the future. This might be invaluable considering how limited it appears we are on the transfer front!
  10. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/scotland/8588154.stm I know it's the BBC... but I love the way they show mowbrays reactions to each goal against the midden! Awesome
  11. anyone else willing to denote 6 points to Andy Webster's (currently) 3rd place Dundee Utd??
  12. responses are what i expected (edit: on here). watch this space for the "country's reaction" though...
  13. A few people have been texting in to the BBC with one "person" saying "they were enjoying the game until they heard disgusting sectarian songs and had to switch it off." Anyone at the game shed any light on this? Only thing I heard was the "Edu" song which is ok for any other team to sing "...up to our knees in [Rivals] blood..." but if we sing the same tune (different words) it's sectarian? Plus, its a song. things like NPoR and others of the ilk are "sectarian" but a song that is used as a "get it up ye" should just be left as what it is! Argh! I don't want to bring up this again as it's been done to death, but was there anything at the game tonight that was questionable? or is it just someone sticking the knife in? trying to dock points perhaps? Great win for the gers though! Well done lads
  14. If we win the league with that much to spare, will the trophy not be presented at the next home game anyway?
  15. Just dated today... http://www.footballshirtculture.com/10/11-kits/scotland-2010-2012-home-adidas-football-kit.html Not sure if it's that great to be honest... Not as nice as other adidas strips have looked... still better than last few!
  16. no influence on the management, but will influence the fans attitude and media reaction/emphasis on the whole issue. which means he'll be in trouble with his bosses if it doesn't influence his management!! :box:
  17. Very true. But this is setting themselves up nicely in the public domain. lose and its the officials fault, win and its inspite of the officials. The referreeing standard in this country is shocking, however no 1 team is persecuted more. it just seems that way. Bad workmen always blame the tools and not themselves Watching the CL officiating last 2 weeks, it has been of a very high standard. What are the thoughts of foreign refs? (although they are prone to howlers... e.g. chelsea vs barca last year...)
  18. Wrong thread. Think you meant the OF preview thread will take that on sunday for sure!! interesting squad. I think Fergies omission was never Leveins decision. between fergie and eck. Surprised to see Lee, although he has had a solid season and perhaps thomson. saying that, they are 2 of the countries better players and have experience at top level. Shows how bad we are for keepers when numbers 2 and 3 (Gordon still Scotlands no.1 until he starts to slip for national team) are both at gers (great for us tho!) I hope Levein does well, and has started well by showing he's not afraid to take some players who have been doing well for smaller clubs like Utd (although thats perhaps due to them being his former club...)
  19. personally, I was gutted I didn't win the Euromillions draw on Friday. I would have bailed out the club from the bank and sorted out all the politics later. But even then I'd have "an agenda" or would recieve dogs abuse from some fans. Whatever happened to the "Rangers First" campaign?? Trouble is we don't know who's fighting for what, and we probably never will as 3 or 4 sides slug it out, berating all sides but their own...
  20. Give that a go for the weekend of the 27/28th
  21. excuse me jumping into this tennis match... But BD, are you trying to say the amount and dates of loan repayments for the upcoming year were declared in the previous years accounts, but the declared schedule of payments was not adhered to and this will be shown in this years accounts?
  22. The idea is what's important! Maybe the more elequent among us could be more succinct? I wonder if the slogans will be revealed before the "protest" because as good as being open about things like these and allowing input from all corners is, it could be hijacked very easily!
  23. if its all about lloyds... how about "For the journey... Gie us a map!" that's what we are really wanting right? a bit of information and clarity as to what is going on?
  24. Does that mean it's Lloyds-TSB-Halifax-Bank-of-Scotland??
  25. That is fair comment, especially as I don't know the finances of the companies they have sold debt off at less than £1 per £1. I still don't understand the banks urgency in all this, but I just hope a white knight steps forward soon and banishes the beastly bank!
