  1. The deadlines of the transfer window could also have been a factor. As well as the apparent delay in communication between Muir and the club.
  2. Any potential candidates?
  3. Were they not bailed out by the Government? Have they not been accepting cut price deals for other companies that have had debt? As I say, I am no expert, but it does seem to be pretty uneven treatment, especially when its an established institution such as Rangers. I know if I had the money and it was pay the whole whack or see the club go to a dark dark place I'd stump up the cash. Hopefully this consortium have the same views!
  4. On a lighter note, if we did go in to administration, we'd still be top by 20 goals! :box: Worrying times though. Agrees with what I have heard. The Bank are not approaching this the way common sense and current business climate would expect.
  5. If they need an excuse cos we've won the league, who cares?! :spl:
  6. Unfortunately their game in hand is after a trip to ibrox...
  7. Did you send it into radio scotland too? they read that one out online!! Let's not get too carried away... "realistically" its only NINE points of a lead. Hibs have a game in hand vs St Johnstone dont forget! :fish:
  8. That normally is the case... but you do get the exception... What's the deal with that striker hamilton have on loan from dundee? Is that a financial thing? No idea where the "values" for players come from, but would hope for slightly more for one of key players. A loan would have been ridiculous!
  9. You have a point. But this still has been a very strange and contrasting window. Especially getting rid of 2 top earners and not using the money - unless that will be used for contract offers? Still time though, still time!
  10. Yeah - I thought I remembered him having a good preseason but not getting a shot. Well good luck to him, especially against the tims. Not that what celtic does should make too big a difference... but it would be hard not to feel a little down that they seemed to have brought in plenty of new players while we struggle to add anything to a squad that has lost 2 first teamers (granted one was utter pish and the other has been injured most of the season) as well as 3 youngsters going away on loan... Here's hoping for something to sneek in under the radar!
  11. Anyone remember Steven MacLean? If it's the boy I'm thinking of was a decent wee striker that did well on loan but never got his shot in the first team.... On loan to Aberdeen for the rest of the season from Plymouth. If it's the wrong boy I apologise for the useless post!
  12. Hutton moved to sunderland on loan. Not a position we need, but the way he played at the end of his gers career, I would have happily had him back!
  13. They seem to have ripped out the core of Strachans team (or tried to) and replace them with random untested young foreigners and other types who have never played in Scotland... You would expect that much movement in the Summer preparing for a new season... not halfway through when 10 points behind against an established side (which has more and more players returning to fitness). They either need to hit the ground running or mowbray will end up looking very silly. Next year will be different - but will he survive that long if they don't make a challenge of it? Hope to see someone in for us before the end of the day, perhaps there will be a random news story on the website that no one saw coming... wouldn't be the first time!
  14. bit of a disappointment to be honest. I thought he'd been called up by his national squad too!
  15. Dean Furman? I think he signed for Bradford down in League 2. Don't know if he came to anything though....
  16. perhaps saving the money from rothen for the next 6 months is what is allowing the improved offer to Boyd? Otherwise how are we able to afford a wage hike? I wish Kyle Lafferty didn't cost as much as he did and was on half the wages he is. I know I'd rather have had Adam plus another for the money that KL is allegedly on... not to mention the transfer fee...
  17. better than unveiling a toilet on (ironically enough) a stained bedsheet...
  18. put the fitter, better players in a 4 and last man in vs the 5. sorted
  19. I thought it was all part of the contract game when the story first came out. I'm in shock if this is true. I HOPE that it is a case of waiting another 6 months before the financial situation is more stable at ibrox. no point in signing a long term deal when no-one else knows what's going to happen. We can't afford to bring through promising teenages and get a couple of developmental seasons. got to hang on and get the benefit for a few seasons at least! English TV money is killing the game. I hope it goes bust. And to the boys, if they are chasing the money and want to play in the prem... look at hutton - barely used by rednapp at spurs, and he was our star the first half of 07/08. Fleck hasn't done anything of note to date!
  20. Neil McCann called it on skysports. If he had tried to claim the contact was enough for a foul Charlie would have gone for him... saying that Jim 'Brian-why-are-you-so-good' White would have jumped in!!
  21. Yup - it's a strange one... I wonder if people know where celtic are from... Anyway - 19 goals before January - plenty goals left in Boyd this season here's hopin he keeps it up! Although he has to score 4 for every 3 that the strikers in Spain and England score... Loved the story from The Goalie's book about McCoist coming into the dressing room after getting the second saying that's the right boot to with the left... :spl:
  22. I always find it strange how on the continent we seem to be known as "Glasgow" with McCoist playing for "Glasgow Rangers" while Larsson played for "Celtic"... I have travelled a fair bit and have had to correct a few international fans of footy that we are simply "The Rangers" (and simply the best )
  23. Hope you're right S_A - always better when players do their talking on the pitch. As for KT, he's been mumbling all season... He needs to improve and soon!
  24. should have got more against Falkirk... Kenny was trying to set him up for them, Novo was being selfish and Lafferty... well he's just not normal - i don't know what he was doing! A goal and a pen tonight and he's well on his way!
