  1. Does this happen only to Rangers? Or do other clubs get in scraps that just don't make it onto the radar?
  2. To be honest we can't expect to blood more than one or two per season at the most... e.g. this year wilson and (to a lesser extent) Fleck have established themselves in the first team. next year do we replace boyd and a midfielder with a 19 and a 20 year old? then we have almost half the outfield team under the age of 20 with not much experience and possibly lacking consistency. then we do the same the next year so its at 6 players. what other team at CL level (at least we were there!) could manage with that? I'm not saying we've been successful at bringing youth through, I just don't think it's as simple and appropriate as some people seem to incinuate. I would like to see the individual quality improve rather than focussing on numbers!
  3. Agreed. Klos was immense, and a gent to boot! Was lucky to have a chat with him following a preseason training session in Toronto. Maybe its just my ignorance, but I have always thought that for the past 3~5 years England have been a keeper away from being one of the best national sides... being stuck behind the likes of calamity James and Robinson doesn't support what you are saying, especially with the likes of Ben Foster who hasn't looked too convinving at man u sometimes getting the gloves for england. none of them are a chris woods for example. But as I don't follow the EPL that closely I am willing to change my opinion, as if you go on my logic, marshall is better than mcgregor and alexander...
  4. That's what I thought Frankie, however was speaking to a friend who insisted we could recall him... Is there anywhere (eg SFA) that would have a record of transfers and conditional loans (e.g. it is a condition of websters loan that he cannot play vs Rangers)?
  5. What about Andy Webster on loan at Utd? Is it a year long thing, or can he be recalled during the transfer window? If DU can afford his wages, they can't be that huge, and although my following of AW has been limited this season, he was solid at the back vs the tims... would also soften the effect of losing boogie if he is sold at the end of the jan window...
  6. £10m for Green and £4m for McGregor? Wrong way round i think!
  7. I don't know but I am I wrong about having "undesirables"? Re: Frankie, Which forums are those? and do you think the club would be willing to share the info from the sources I mentioned to help analyse the feasability of any fan involvement financially?
  8. Where did you get this info from? I also wonder what kind of numbers the club have on file... Those who have registered for the site, signed up to Rangers World, or even has a history of ticket purchases. That may give a better indication of fan numbers who could potentially invest... As a side note, what would people think about the less desired elements of our support investing and part owning rangers? I have been left disappointed on a few occassions and have not wanted to be associated with some people calling themselves Rangers fans in the past. Should they be allowed to have a stake?!
  9. Surely you picked up on the fact that there he was, discussing nicely the examples of racist behaviour by fans and the horrendously insignificant fines associated with such crimes only to turn that onto Rangers? Fair play for trying to make your opinion based on your personal experiences, but the bit about Rangers has NOTHING to do with the racism story. And its clear he's trying to say UEFA have been lenient (sp) on Rangers. I'm the first to laugh off the bias/paranoia stuff (I think Jim Traynor is awesome at winding up folk!) but this guy has been as subtle as souness planting the flag in Turkey!!
  10. The old guys were the best!! see the one trying to catch his (free!) bus?!
  11. anyone got that pic from a gers players charity do or something? with all the bears that burley crossed?
  12. I see the BBC went about Aberdeen to get the view of the Tartan army... pretty funny if anyone dares to browse their website...
  13. Surely they have some form of insurance policy for match abandonment? Or are they afraid a claim will put their premium up?! DAFT. those who were at the game before should get to watch all 3 points worth. (or 0 or 1 if we get screwed over by external circumstances again!)
  14. There is no way of putting a positive spin on Burleys reign. This was inevitable. Looking forward to the call ups of boyd and mcgregor! hopefully ferguson too!
  15. I think its completely wrong for DU to act like this, and the moving of the goal posts is completely unjustified! But I was just wondering about the practicality of them. I remember when I got SPL away tickets, you had to tick the box to say you agree to all the terms to get a shot at the tickets... so thought I'd raise the issue!
  16. The whole point of a boycott would be to hurt Utd financially right? well how would that work when tickets are handed out and charged based on who signed up to what at the start of the year? I assume supporters clubs must have an account type thing that gets charged like the DD scheme in place for the SPL away tickets on a season ticket? Its a good idea, but if the tickets are already paid for, there is no point in leaving the team to fend for themselves without the bears support from the stands!
  17. nothing like a bit of name dropping... Jealous!!
  18. He has the makings of a good artlicle there about the hypocracy of UEFA when it comes to racism... His problem is his twisted hatred of Rangers by trying to tarr them with the same brush. where the bucharest fining comes into a story about racism i dont know. where celtics inability to control their fans and prevent them from approaching players on the field comes into a story about racism I dont know. If he stuck to the racists thing, maybe he has a point. If he decided to review crimes vs punishments, again there MAY be a story there - although i wouldn't trust him to be objective as far as i could throw him. Overall an overeloborate attempt at sticking the boot into Rangers and just reads like he's a bitter tim. Rangers were not racists. and not liking celtic is not sectarian. i'm sorry for anyone that paid good money to read a paper on a sunday and got that dross.
  19. Speaks with good authority and intelegence. Loved the bit where he started laughing at chick, and then said "that's a leading question" Does make me feel a little more confident, and reitterates to me that its as much to do with the bank and murrays woes as it is ours. Also very candid when discussing the "horror year" this past year: "Remember Kaunas"
  20. I'd imagine this would be a good design for a display as a thank you gesture to HSV for the great displays they have made for us in the past few years! No idea what a slogan would be... "Wir sind das Volk/Leute"?? or do they have a saying they use? "Ein/Das Protestantclub" (now that could potentially get us into trouble!)
  21. As long as it comes from Rangers, it's just going to look like petty point scoring, and will lose credibility. If Rangers are to be involved, it must remain more subtle as we can't afford to alienate ourselves from joe bloggs on the street who does not follow football. If for example we are talking about the minutes silence disgrace, surely we cannot cast the first stone as a club? it should be falkirk that start it. We cannot get involved in an incident that has no direct relevance to Rangers. It was not a Rangers game, it was not a Rangers related silence. Perhaps a better approach would be to start a campaign involving fans from ALL teams in the SPL?
  22. Perhaps... but I'm not sure its as common as some people make out. Although i guess you can't blame bears for getting worked up as we've had such a hard time of it - I just think some people do take it too far - like making a "story" out of the BBC changing a photo from someone you could see wearing a celtic top with a blurry face to a clear mug shot.
