  1. I have the original cassette of this... was given to me by my grandpa, and i couldn't explain how much it means to me. Got a belter of a version of every other saturday I believe it was called "Hello Hello, You'll know us by our noise" pretty sure it had the pic of coisty and hately that i used in the graphic i used for a while that had the pic in the middle of the gers badge Hello! Hello! We are the RANGERS boys!
  2. Yes, when it comes down to the last day of the season and the OF are playing in different cities the trophy has to be flown by helicopter to the winners. But there has only every been one Helicopter Sunday. No helicopter thursday or rubbish like that! The Trophy had green and white ribbons on it and was almost at strathclyde park to be presented to celtic when the helicopter changed direction and flew the trophy to Easter Road, Edinburgh to Rangers where it belongs. The best wait ever. Helicopter Sunday: 22/5/05 There has only been one Helicopter sunday, don't let them tell you otherwise or steal our glory!
  3. from my experience (17 years raised as a bear up there) the anti-english as well as the anti-rangers mentality is worse than the "sectarian" sham we have had shoved down our throats for the last 5 years or so... Love beating them, but never would i celebrate a win vs sheep more than the green and gray... (unless it won the league...)
  4. how many goalkeepers did we use?
  5. after going so long without a title, and after the heartbreak of last season, and it beginning to slip from our grasp this year, I don't think you'll be alone!
  6. And McDonald got away with a much WORSE challenge, with obvious intent, against Utd. Not to mention Loovens on Edu (who scored a vital goal in that game)... Lafferty was laughable, but as my Italian flat-mate would say, he played the game (I don't agree with it, but if mulgrew didnt square up, there would not have been an opportunity). Yet again, things seem to conspire against us...
  7. even if we do win the league, it seems most likely that at this stage it will be celtic throwing it away. The second half urgency vs hibs was too late. We should have started like that. Far too often have we been defensive and negative and let other teams out play us. Yes Smith has done well, a damn sight better than PLG, but the negativity in both ends of his full campaigns, this "be hard to beat" mentality is wrong. Time for some positive football Rangers.
  8. good job! Don't like the fact that we've had a new top every year with umbro, despite not changing sponsors. I guess it raises much needed cash... but not even the away kits have lasted!
  9. when was the last time we had the same top 2 years running??
  10. I remember Gordon Smith talking about changing it so only cup winners got the spot after gretna... or was it QotS? But red tape stopped it? has it gone through yet? anyone know?
  11. Was hilarious seeing Derek Riordan giving the hearts fans the sssshhh then sssshhhitting himself when the boy goes after him!! BBC Link of footage
  12. Looks like Rangers are doing their very best to control it. I unfortunately had to give up my season ticket this year, yet would love the opportunity of scoring some brownie points by "visiting my sister" that weekend! Seems like Rangers don't want me to go
  13. opened this up expecting an alexander vs shagger thread... The Goalie wins hands down! No other choice! Woods was terrific, England international and still got one of the longest shut out records (not sure which one after vds and the WCC etc) and Klos followed on from Goram admireabley (although charbonnier was very likeable ) I've been lucky enough to meet both Klos (pre-season in Toronto) and Goram (on train to preseason game in Hannover) both a true gents! Klos was one of the few who made an effort to speak to me when i met the squad, and the goram story is a little longer but as it doesnt compete with BDs I'll not bore you with it! As i was a poor back-packing student at the time, he kindly bought me a couple beers on the train awesome banter!
  14. wonder how long it will be till boydy loses some of the silver balls  This year its not an issue, but how can you hand out the seasons top scorer award with 5 games to go?! (same goes to ALL POTY awards!)
  15. I wonder what some of the non-rangers-supporting commandos views on Gers fans are now? Surely not all of them were Bears? I know alot of non-Bears hate us, be interesting to see how they felt about their reception! (also, couldn't bring myself to look... what vile were the dark side spouting?)
  16. My mistake! I just thought it was hilarious (at the time) that some journo had his phone on and the superman theme as his ringtone!
  17. i think their request is more based on money rather than petty point scoring... not my fav club but harsh to call it mopery. alot more likely to get a good crowd on a sat than a thursday night, but at least its aberdeen... an hour and a half is manageable from work and back if the sheep are that keen...
  18. 3 away games vs Hibs, but 3 home games vs Hearts this season... will be an interesting end to it all!
  19. regardless of which paper it was published in, great story. Didn't Hartson once get it for "scoring goals"? Boyd has been at Rangers 3 and a half years, and has not always been first pick. Yet he has almost scored 100 goals. I think he does deserve something! Well done
  20. alas, where is the integrity i hear them scream...
  21. I understand Smiths reaction, its old school, and something i reckon ferguson and "shagger" have been needing. I just hope it doesnt cost us any points in the title race... Possibly a welcome distraction for the management team as it takes the spotlight off how poor rangers have been playing of late, only showing glimpses of being a side that is capable of winning a title. The Scotland reaction is excessive and the punishment doesnt fit the crime. It saddens me seeing the rift that is developing between Rangers and the Scottish national team... The 2 have been made scape goats for a farcical affair that the manager and his seniors have grossly mismanaged.
  22. Having (unfortunately) been brought up in aberdeenshire... I have heard the dons fans sing "You'll never get a job" not sure of other lyrics, kinda funny. gets booed at ibrox as most people seem to think its YNWA. not original, but something like "you'll never win away" would be funny! loving the go home songs!
  23. "I look at my time here. I made us difficult to beat and everybody said that was the wrong thing to do. "People now might start to see that this was the right thing to do with my group." that is really depressing
  24. The actual quotes from salmond in that article arent too bad, makes some decent points, and is actually pretty objective... especially as you see who it is thats trying to put words into his mouth. The only real anti-rangers sentiment is from speirs himself. Well done McLetchie, I just hope to see this made mainstream! we've known it for years, lets hope it can get put across to the general public, which will in turn give our voices (Gers fans) more credibility than they currently have after the slanderous coverage of recent years!
