  1. so does every player nominate one other? and then the 4 with the highest votes are named on the shortlist and then another vote taken?
  2. How does POTY work? who is it that selects the so-called short list?
  3. young squad... i wonder if that means the rest are in "reserve" for Lisbon. I notice buffel made it onto the bench vs Bremen... wonder what youngsters, if any will be traveling with the first team to Portugal.
  4. Pretty sure our goalie probably got in there first...
  5. correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we "get off with it" after the initial investigation, only for our media to hound UEFA until they fined us??
  6. how about 0810 20 30 10: 08, one-nothing, two-nothing, three-nothing, one-nothing Uncle Walt knows best
  7. Maybe not the best game for my banner idea if neither are playing... Saw S_A's alter-ego started a thread on FF asking about banner making and someone pointed this out... Loved hearing those quotes from Thomson, he made his choice, his pal brown made his own. I know who will be the richer of the two (money - especially THAT much - is not everything...)
  8. sure it was a head butt? and not like a manly celebration type thing? got this image of coisty grabbing someone after scoring a goal and locking foreheads... (sounds a bit daft that description though...)
  9. still got to fit in games versus: St Mirren (postponed for the Scotland vs Italy game) Motherwell (postponed for the CIS cup final) total crazy!!
  10. LOL your face when charlton hit the post, then the bar, then the bar... fair play tho Don't know anyone that's been involved in making a banner... so no idea how much they cost... maybe someone on the board might have a clue?? Back on topic, kevin was immense  was down in shop and story on front page of mondays record says he was attacked with a broken bottle after the OF... anyone know anything about this?
  11. ashame you can't talk like that especially when i got that call when you said you were coming round to continue the celebrations yesterday!! Awesome read, and pretty much spot on in everything said. Still up for trying to make the banner: THOMSON vs BROWN: HALF THE PRICE; TWICE THE PLAYER for me to take to parkhead?
  12. well why do celtic need to be in the country for us to play our final games?? we'll just play motherwell when they are in japan! Fingers crossed, bazza will have his hands on the league trophy before then anyway!!
  13. good, interesting, exciting list of players pete! where did you get it?
  14. Any idea who they're playing this weekend? Hoping for a morale sapping defeat.
  15. That interview filled me with pride. The concept of creating our own good publicity, and promoting it to the fans is fantastic. In a week where celtcs chief exec came out and was basically moaning about the league potentially helping us with our fixture backlog, it is great to see us only sorting our own house. I think its fantastic to encourage younger fans, and familys, and that may also help address some of the social issues around football in britain with the booze culture and sometimes disgraceful language used at games. I admit I am guilty of shouting obscenities, however in the presence of familys eg the partick and E.S. games, the atmosphere has been more friendly and as such slightly more enjoyable. I was disappointed to not have enough points to qualify for one of the tickets for lisbon, but feel it is a fantastic gesture for those who will have traveled to many games this season. If nothing else, the publicity this should generate, and the feelings of good will, are definitely a step in the right direction. Personally, I am most pleased about the relocation of season ticket holders for individual games. this is something im sure many season ticket holders have wanted this sort of scheme for a while. I know I have! With so many enemies out there, waiting to knock us down and kick us further if they are successful, this to me is the proudest I have been of the club off the park. This club is truely special and its about time we ensured all our fans and everyone else are reminded of that fact. As Dado said yesterday: We are the people!
  16. Yes it was what bluedell said. And I agree with you pete! it was just a joke and the reaction to these are going ott. However, in a debate about the RC church vs science/medicine, surely the BBC would have had the sense to not bring football into a religious/current affairs debate? afterall They appear to condemn the inverse! If they can make jokes, we should be allowed to make jokes! banter is banter! most of the footy related stuff is MEANT TO offend! its a wind up! and thats part of the fun! now we're not allowed anything discriminatory or offensive, so why should others? would they have read out a text calling another social group like Pakistanis, Jews or teachers or nurses half human half animals?? I have calmed down from last night btw! but still deeply offended!
  17. Newsdrive link listen in to the text that was read out 57-58 mins in. It is worth remembering this comment is related to a science/medicine vs the vatican issue. To me that is a purely sectarian comment and, coming from a publicly funded institution, is unacceptable. I will not pay a licence fee to have Rangers fans, or any other social group for that matter, disrespected in that manor. Imagine if it had been anti-islam? or anti-asylum seekers? etc... heads would roll. If the PC tone had not been set, and they dished out "banter" in equal measures from both sides, this would not be a significant issue. This is not the case. Serious question, is it possible to refuse to pay for a tv licence, yet still purchase pay-per-view such as sky?
  18. It's something like the land of 1000 dances. been umpteem covers so no idea who did the original. I always remember it being in that film fern gully...
  19. hopefully the car wont have the same problems as the football team... stuck in 2nd gear last night... I'll get my coat...
  20. wouldnt tims bringing their passports be worse for them? Have you read whats on the inside cover?! not very Irish O'Republican!! throught that would hurt them more than any joy they'd get from winding us up... "Where in Ireland is Glasgow (Aiden)?!, Where in Ireland is Glasgow (Aiden)?!..."
  21. should explained what comparison to make clearer in the original post... No doubts as to which goal was better, and more important! It was the similarities in the audacity of the unexpected shots, the blame for which both goalkeepers must accept, and the way in which the (scottish) media covered them!
  22. Cousin vs Pay attention to the words used at the end of the second clip. Best angle for comparison is that facing the goalkeeper... (Loved both goals btw )
  23. That was from the chief sports writer at the herald?! wow, I'm in shock! Mr Spiers will be raging!! Great article, and only one in scotland i've seen give credit to how good a side bremen are and praising us by disarming them and playing our own game! Thought I heard that cousin did something to his jaw? he might be out for a while... I think we would have struggled without him up top on tuesday, and see him vital to a prolonged european run (athough no so for the league...) looking forward to seeing the team that makes it out! Enjoyed that article for a change
  24. cheers! although credit belongs to the website hosting! cracking wee site Couldnt believe the negativity from the commentators! no credit for shooting early from cousin? a rasping, travelling, early strike?! if keeper didnt touch it - it was a goal! granted it was pretty bad from keeper - still credit should go to cousin! Also great credit to davis and cousin for the second, great play to cut the defence right open, good early strike on target forcing a save, and positive play from davis following through after the great ball to knock home the rebound! Compare and contrast to the adoration of the tims...
  25. Cousin Davis' 1st goal for Gers
