  1. i think its HIM (andy webster) that has to pay that money... as comensation to hearts. not us or wigan.

will be interesting to see what happens in the fall out of this saga...

  2. cant believe the comment that has been left on the site there. I think the article pretty much spot on. but did rangers fans have a problem with him playing for a country? i very much doubt it. Personally i have issues with aiden mcgeady playing for ROI over scotland, but as a scot i think im entitled to that opinion, but the religion of a player for another country...?

I dont know the whole truth of his International career as I never followed it, but i think our wee visitor has probably highlighted another great example of the media promoting the 'poor wee neily' mentality.

    Maybe an Ulster-Bear could elaborate?

If people want to see REAL sectarianism in football, have a look at the isreali league. in scotland its a dying trend stirred by the media to be bigger than it actually is. sadly anything that is anti-celtic from us is deemed sectarian these days...

  3. Great to see the "Rangers First" badge on the homepage

Got a email from the FF thing saying that stickers are being made and circulated to try and promote this campaign. Im 100% behind it. Rangers should ALWAYS be put First!

Was wondering if there was a chance of getting copies of the images for things like display pics on msn etc to try promote the slogan online?

  4. If those sets of fans can move on, who surely would have 'more of a claim' so sing songs of that origin (eg something like build my gallows if that is one of the 'cultural songs') why do some rangers fans cling to these songs?!

Surely at rangers games support should be given to rangers first, as the NI and Linfield fans respectively have been doing from what I'v heard on here!

The sooner the idiots we have in our support wake up and smell the coffee the better.

Well done to the NI and Linfield fans and hopefully we can learn from them :)

could you keep us posted on any developments Frankie?

    Cheers

  5. it has always angered me that some fans insist on the 'right' to sing the billy boys. it has NOTHING to do with Rangers!

Its a gang song from the first half of last century. why do people have to sing about Billy Fullerton (or even king billy for those unaware of the songs origins) at a Rangers game?! its baffling and like i said makes me really angry.

  6. well no surprise the media ran with that story. wasnt hartson or pearson in the last video scandal.

but to be honest thats academic. bottom line is thats a stupid thing to do.

This has really been angering me recently. We are RANGERS fans. people are entitled to have their own beliefs, like not believing in what the pope does, or (as sung) hating terrorists like the IRA(or taliban or al quieda (sp)) but this should be done WELL AWAY from RANGERS games. Fans now know it will put the club in trouble, and if they were true rangers supporters they would stop promoting their beliefs at RANGERS games.

Stupid things that dont help are things like this belief that we are an 'english club' "quintessentially brittish" yes but also scottish. coming off the underground and seeing 2 huge flags: one union flag (perfectly fine), and a RHoU. now for bears who have no connection with ulster, why are they obsessed with this flag? (i'd like to reiterate i do not have a problem with ulster) Maybe its so they can do this so called "red hand salute"

It saddens me that some people refuse to grow up and start following rangers for the great football team they are. If you dont, our enemies will sure as hell try and kill our club and stop the rest of us from doing so.

  7. :D

I just don't see that we have anything to play for to be honest. There's no chance of Aberdeen getting second imo.

    :(

still be going to the usual to watch the away games we cant afford to go to though, right?!

  8. i dont think it need be with the club. i think it can be with us.

now, remember that generally celtic fans feel villified by the press too (this is the reality of the matter). i think a joint project between celtic and rangers forums to provide informed criticism on the press would be a great idea.

that would be great from the point of view getting noticed, but most of the issues in the scottish media seem to be direct attacks against us and comparisons with the "angels" the celtic fans claim to be.

I think what gers fans want is even handed-ness with the coverage, and while there is a large feeling of anti-rangers but negative tic stories getting swept under the carpet this will never happen.

BUT for issues such as the OF fans getting charged more to attend away games, and BOTH of us fighting the bigotry problem, then i believe that should (but unfortunately wont) be welcomed openly by both sets of fans...

  9. That was a terrific article which hit the nail on the head with alot of the troubles (for both teams) - if other gers fans read that would maybe stop scottish bears wearing england stuff to rangers games etc!

not the first time iv heard an irish person complain about their association with celtic over here!

RANGERS beat Hamilton Accies 3-1 today in a closed door game at Murray Park when Stefan Klos and a number of other top team stars got some vital match practice.

Klos is on standby for next week's Euro clash with Osasuna as Rangers try to over-turn a two-game ban for Allan McGregor following a highly controversial red card in last week's 4-0 win over Hapoel Tel-Aviv.

The German keeper has only played three top team games in the past two seasons and it is 11 months since his last first team start and, of course, was thrown into the action when McGregor was dismissed 15 minutes from time.

However, he got a good workout in the closed door game, which was won thanks to goals from Dado Prso, Filip Sebo and youngster Andrew Shinnie.

First team coach Kenny McDowall, who also used Charlie Adam, Libor Sionko, Kevin Thomson and Sasa Papac, said: "It was a good workout for everyone and a good exercise.

"The whole purpose was to get match action for Stefan and some of the other lads like Dado, who has just rejoined the group.

"It was obviously a blow to lose Allan last week but there are few better around to come on than Stefan."

Obviously not a lot of detail, but some positives to take! (also check out the typo's on the official site :sigh:)

  11. for spells last night, we looked so impressive going forward it was inspiring! and i was thinking "play like this and we can give every1 left in this tournament a game!"

also got players to come back/get to full fitness... so i'll be believing! :D

We are getting better and better in europe, and hopefully getting teams afraid of drawing Rangers FC again!

Bring on the spaniards by the score!

  12. The thing about "Big Jock Knew" posters, is alot of people will not have the faintest idea what it is about! I'm willing to admit i didnt know until a few months ago!! and I'm a gers fan!

like someone said earlier, its just one-up-manship, and maybe any campaign should be more explicit and less cryptic, and use this as a story for proof. Maybe if it was a well known story by the public, the slogan would have more effect?

  13. lol - well ill leave out the personal details in future, but in short, your just jealous that come summer you will no longer be a student, where as i will still have (at least) a year of tax-dodging study to go! :D

  14. i see you found one of the main delights of bebo! lol

thats the skin uploaded, but if you let me know where i can get some good gersnet pics, i'll see if i can edit one of my previous efforts into a gersnet one!

  15. sebo is a real joke figure where i sit at the games.

probably the same people up in arms at that sebo joke on bbc!!

saw a bit of something that would suggest the guy can come good against hearts, first time iv seen that, but papac has been a disappointment since arriving.

first game or 2 looked decent and has since gone into hiding... the fact that PLG let smith walk right back into the team says alot for me there.

guess we'll just have to review it in the summer! alot can change between now and then...
