  1. any ideas where abouts? like a number code or something??
  2. my dad is down in london on business and cant get bbc1 scotland at my sisters (where he is staying) cos they are on telewest... does anyone know how you can watch the game in england? is it on setanta or gers tv?? Cheers
  3. I saw that on the evening news cammy, but it was just a very short clip... kinda suggested that there wouldnt be a huge change in the squad and he'd be concentrating on what he has - but surely one signing wouldnt rock the boat?? did he categorically say he wouldnt be signing anyone? some people have seemed rather adimant that we'll be making a signing or two in jan...
  4. well, i guess that it is beginning to approach the transfer window and so the stories will start to come out so they can sell the papers... but its difficult for me to agree that he's ours until i see him in a gers top at ibrox... unless there is something you'd like to share with us?
  5. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/hi/sport/6029349.html looks like we might have some competition in signing brown... He seems to be a pretty popular target here on the boards, as he would give us a bit of dig/steel in the midfield and would be the closest we've had to a 'hardman' in a long time! Also lots of people have hinted that he is of the red white and blue persuasion, so thats one good thing for us, but is a worrying thought and this just higlights the difference in funding the two OF managers have received... thoughts?
  6. I think he's a great player too, although unfortunately rather inconsistent. I think he doesnt get enough protection from referees in scotland though. I mean he gets kicked all over the park (like other good attacking players eg burke) and nothing is done. he tries to give as good as he gets a foul given against him! just have a look at how much better he was in the champions league run last year!!
  7. wasnt paul le guen given a dossier of potential scottish targets when he arrived? I'm pretty sure he was... eg he said not to pursue riordan did he not? and hence why he signed for the tims? If that was the case, does that not show that le guen misjudged brown (if he was on the list) and to an extent the style of football that is played in scotland? perhaps, and now he is learning from his mistakes as any man should try and do, i just hope that he gets the time to right the mediocrity that is synonamous (sp) with rangers at the moment (mainly to do with mr murray IMO) and is not forced out the club by some fans!
  8. thats a rubbish team we made look good on thursday, and now a decent team look amazing. we were attrocious. we get outplayed and over run in midfield ever game at the moment. i agree, wrong tactics and wrong team. its been a very very slow start to the season...
  9. if people are putting money or asking for odds for something... if there are enough of them surely they'll put the odds up and take the punters money?? and is it just the one betting site that has him on it? It would be nice to happen, but i dont think that this is strong enough evidence to say the deal has been done by now!
  10. thats the worst thing. its so vague and open to interpretation. "neil lennon, your a wanker, your a wanker" is that not discriminatory? and isnt every other song of any team, which offends opponents and their supporters? its a joke! but regardless... i dont think the billy boys has anything to do with rangers (rangers fan can sing it if they so wish - just not at ibrox!) rangers are a football club, and we should be supporting the team! i for one am not a billy boy, im a rangers boy. and ill give anything to see my team at ibrox or away!
  11. any reason for the deleted post?? As it was me who started the thread... if you let me know why you're so sure, i could change the subject of the thread...
  12. So thats twice he's abused his influence to twist the real story... and the club STILL havent done anything about it?! not even a hint of an apology either!! and he's doing what he set out to do! as i know that some people are believing his lies, or not realising the truth! unfortunately, some people will want to believe this, and this will already have been lodged in their minds!! alot of the damage has been done. hopefully we can keep the pressure on and reverse it tho!
  13. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/06/07/20/SOCCER_Rangers.html&TEAMHD=soccer another twist in this story... dont know how much truth there is in it... but if it is true, its good to see someone that keen to come and play for us
  14. http://="http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/tm_objectid=17415566%26method=full%26siteid=66633%26headline=why%2di%2daxed%2dgers%2dgame%2d-name_page.html" Well thats his response... talk about spin!! Thoughts??
  15. Cheers! trying to get back to the point of the topic.... did anyone make it down today? (was absolutely heaving btw!!) Andy
  16. You are very right! I also believe that many people who do not truely care for religion, or belong to organisations such as the OO taint the names and reputations of both and basically use it as an excuse to cause trouble. and so when people who are not aware of the whole picture see for example a sash, they associate it (wrongly) with sectarianism and trouble. I know my mum does anyway! and I find this display slightly controvertial as it seems to me it will reinforce the misassociation in many uneducated peoples minds. We will soon see if anything is made of it, or im just making a mountain out of a molehill! Andy
  17. I appreciate the difference, but sadly many dont. so people will just see it as rangers being linked with the sash and so being biggots etc... really the problem is a lack of education on the subject, which the wee labels dont even begin to cover! Just thought id let folk know, maybe go have a look if you want! Iv not been able to look properly, as iv meant to be working, but will maybe try if im allowed to on my break!
  18. I'v just got a job set up working in the coffee bar in the Kelvingrove art gallery/museum so I'v managed to have a wee sneak peek at whats in there before the official opening 2moro... There is a section that has some artifacts assocciated with both sides of the historic religious devide in glasgow, ie pictures of the pope and a china figure of King billy... which is definately part of glasgows history and I can understand why they would include it as it is meant to be a great new tourist attraction for glasgow and scotland and so gives some history of the city... but one thing i found rather controvertial (especially as the museum will have the backing of Joke mcconnel and the scottish parliament) is the blantant assocciation they make with the 2 football clubs of rangers and c*ltic. I wonder if the club has been consulted about this, especially as we are trying to erradicate the 'direct link' as it were, without losing the history of it. basically i find it hard to believe that rangers would agree to having a rangers scarf in the same cabinet as an orange sash where they link the two, especially after recent months... Should the club be made aware of this?! what do you guys think? am i being too PC?? Andy
  19. might get a bit of stick from some fans... but I guess it could be a way of ensuring that we (Rangers) are not responsible for anything deemed inappropriate by others intent on hounding us. Don't know if they printed anything border-line b4, but i guess if you dont want a players name or your (nick)name then go somewhere else!
  20. thing that concerns me, is the mediocre reviews he's been receiving and on top of that, he does look a little lightweight in those photos there... wonder if he'll have a 'presence' like all the greater goalies have... guess we'll just have to wait and see! cant exactly knock the guy b4 he plays! Klos is still the keeper for me tho!
  21. Im still a relatively young gers fan... the first team i remember following, the team that I consider my fav gers team, and the team that I 'fell for' as such was the amazing team from 92/93. I remember my grandpa (used to be a member when gers were still a proper 'club' as it was back then) bought me a gers tape. I still have it. I still love it. Officially produced by the club it was one of those jobs that had the input from the first team squad. Had classics like Every other saturday; Follow Follow (with clips of the commentary from the leeds game); Super Ally; One Mark Hately: Ian Durrants dynamite song, Walter Smith Blue & White Army; oooh ahh hustira... and I really wish the club would dig some of them out cos they arent as cheesy or beaty as the new ones... but Im beginning to digress... It was called "You'll know us by our noise" and that really was one of my fav songs. And it will be really sad if the FTP brigade have brought this song to a premature end. As it is the same tune, people would not really stick to the true lyrics (which i think are great) Hello! Hello! We are the Rangers Boys! Hello! Hello! You'll know us by our noise! We'll Give Anything to see our team, At Ibrox or Away! For we are the Glasgow Rangers Boys!
