  1. Stay away then. A manager that knows what it takes to win trophies at our club. Great attitude. I'd hate for it to be someone untested at this level again like Billy Davies, but I'd still go and support the team.
  2. I don't think it's a bad squad. It needs a change of shape and an ability to adapt. The squad will get second comfortably imo.
  3. Are you privy to any of the goings on at these clubs or is this fickle copy and paste? Forrest - was told he was signing George Boyd, Boyd turned up for a medical and no one was there. The chairman had done a number on him so he left Genk - only signed til the end of the season. Was told no budget even though he had one of the highest win percentages in the league after he took over. Zamalek - got sacked for not changing the team and playing the presidents fav players even though they were winning games. Also they weren't paying his coaches. So he left I think we are a shambles just now and having a manager in that's won 7 trophies with us in the short term to steady the ship. Certainly better than Davies. Ffs we've just had a manager that the job was too big for we don't need another. I think I'll stay off the Rangers forums and social media if/when he goes back. Leicester have just spent almost 20 million on a Genk teenager he signed for nothing. Maybe he'll bring some of his knowledge from these jobs to Ibrox.
  4. Eck will take over and win the Scottish cup.
  5. What is the latest with Rossiter? I take it this season is just a write off with the boy? Need to get those two back in the midfield
  6. There seems to be a general consensus between everyone apart from MW that playing 2 up top could be the answer. With the defence and midfield a bit more fluid. I agree with McKay in the middle. Get him on the ball as much as possible. I think MW gets the rest of the season but he has to Adapt. This is by far his biggest test as a manager, it's whether or not he can change his style. It shouldn't be a hard decision for him to make
  7. Two points from this thread I think are key to the playing side of things. Tactics and our captain. Tactics. There are only 2/3 teams in world football that can play the same tactics regardless of the opposition. The rest of us have to adapt to our opponents. And that's exactly what opposition managers do to us. Press high and we can't cope. Our CB's can't pass and we lose possession. MW needs to change. When a formation works 20% of the time, it's not working. I think the fans would give him a bit more slack for a performance like Tynecastle if we'd went 4-5-1 and it hadn't worked but within 5 mins you could see what Hearts were going to do. That tactic worked against Celtic last April because they were all on their game. Even then we never won the game! This we keep playing our game doesn't cut it anymore. I await the 4-3-3 tomorrow. Our captain. Lee Wallace is great for Rangers off the field. On it, nope, not for me. I think he brings excellent attacking qualities to our play and links well with McKay but defensively he scares the life out of me. But besides footballing ability it's his leadership on the park that I can't get behind. We concede a goal and he just turns away and walks towards the halfway line. You don't see him shouting at the players to gee them up. Can you imagine Fergie being captain and Halliday making that mistake and fergie just turning round and walking away. Not. A. Chance. He'd be in their faces letting them know what he thought. We are badly needing someone with a voice on the park. This team are too lightweight and nice. It's getting us nowhere. When was the last time we put a few heavy tackles in to show we are up for a battle. I think we'll need a better left back to challenge Celtic next year but more importantly I think we'll need a better leader on the park!
  8. I wish Rangers fans would stop sharing his links. We write enough good articles among our own fans and we are only keeping him relevant by clicking. His paper is drivel and aimed at the lowest common denominator. Time to flat out ignore these guys and stick to the official outlets for gers news
  9. Halliday needs dropped. He's been so ineffectual for months now. I think there's an argument for playing Holt that wee bit deeper with his energy levels though his build could hamper him there. What's the latest with Rossiter? Hopefully the boy gets rid of his injuries and he can get a run of games soon. I had also hoped that HF would take note of MW's comments about him and start putting more of a shift in in training and on match day. He seems to love himself a bit too much from what I've heard which is a shame because he's got talent. It's a big night for Tav if he starts at right back. I think we'll be out for revenge and I reckon we'll win 3-1 tonight
  10. Did anyone else yesterday think Moult was decent. Two games he's looked like what we are missing. Knows where the goal is. Link up play was good as well. Money and MOH for him and I'd be happy
  11. I think Cummings would be a good signing if he screws the nut. I sat behind him on an airport transport bus last month at Edinburgh airport after they'd came back from a jolly and he screamed stupid wee boy with his billy big time chat. But he's young and that's fairly normal in Scotland. If the money's right then I'd take him. He'd certainly score goals and will only get better
  12. Hartson is in the same mould as Sutton, feels the need to constantly have digs at Rangers to stay relevant. McKay is a much better player than Forrest. Hopefully he signs a long term deal at the club. We need him for another season. I'd build my team around him
  13. I think a loan deal for MOH could be worthwhile to get him game time but I think there is a place for him in our squad. Even an initial 1-month loan deal with an option to extend it for the rest of the season might be beneficial but I wouldn't want him sold
  14. Get a figure in the media. 20 million. We wont get that but even 20 million is nothing to the top English teams now. I'd rather he stayed as if we want to challenge Celtic then he'll be massive for us but if he goes, lets get what we deserve. Offer a new bumper deal with a 20 million release clause. Sellick are talking about 5 million for Bitton who doesn't even get a game for them. It'd be criminal to let McKay go on the cheap
  15. This has annoyed me for years. After the Old Firm game, MW should've came out and singled out Barrie McKay, and put a price out there. Its what they do time and time again successfully. Just throw in, 'I thought Barrie McKay was excellent against Celtic AGAIN, you wouldn't get him for 20 million'. Its utterly baffling to me why this hasn't been done already. Say 20 million and we'll get 15 for him if his form continues. They've done it for years with the above examples and again, Armstrong was a boo boy amongst the sellick support last season and he's hit a bit of form, but they do the right thing. Not only does it put a starter price in there, it increases the boys confidence. We'll no doubt get 2 million for him this window and take it with no sell on fee. This goes back to the days of Burke released for free, Charlie Adam for 500K etc etc
  16. They are having a very good season yet pretty much every Celtic fan I talk to wants to talk about Rangers. Those blogs are extremely weird. Who's reading them thinking, yup we must find out if the roof is safe? I saw someone on twitter saying the rangers fans should be thanking celtic for holding the rangers board accountable and asking the questions they aren't. For the life of me I couldn't understand why a Celtic fan would want to read a blog about Rangers. Mad Phil and the others need locked up
  17. Get that pinned up on the wall. This has the feeling of the Scottish Cup final where Jelavic scored about it. Also their last visit to Ibrox where we battered them and stopped them winning the league! You just hope this Celtic love in the press have right now provokes a reaction from our sometimes mentally weak players. Step up Rangers
  18. I'd play Michael O'Hallaran up top and hit them on the counter. His pace in behind would cause them problems and could be a great get out. That'll never happen though
  19. We lack a bit of steel all over the park. I think a lot thought that Barton would be the guy who bring this but it often feels like its fairly easy to bully this Rangers team. The second it looks like a game is turning into a battle you get guys going missing all over the park. Barrie McKay can go on to the top level but he backs out of challenges and when it gets to being a battle he needs to stand up and say, give me the ball. I also have reservations about Wallace being captain on the park, off the park hes terrific and everything a rangers captain should be, but too often on the park when things go against us, he's silent. I'm not a massive Scott Brown fan as a technical player but he's got a bit of dig and can raise the game of his teammates, I don't think we get that with Wallace. The manager talks too often about it being a nice environment for the players to turn up and work in but if results and performances don't go the way that is expected at Glasgow Rangers then I couldn't care less if they enjoyed turning up to work as long as they were working as hard as they could! Signings haven't been great. We've been unlucky and Celtic have been pretty lucky in theirs albeit its easier with double the budget. January should be used to increase quality, we've enough about us just now to get European football and new faces should only be brought in if they are coming in as starters.
  20. Last night was a strange one, we were exceptional for 30 minutes, some of the link up play and movement was sublime. But down to a lack of quality in the final third we don't capitalize on our dominance and the second we lose a goal, the heads go down. I'd really have liked a response to that daft goal because had we dusted ourselves down and played like we had before then we'd have been fine last night. That was perhaps Garners worst game for us, the chance where he was at the back post 6 yards out, he at minimum has to hit the target and that shot was going out for a throw. The boys confidence is shot due to the criticism he's receiving from the media. I'd maybe go with Waggy on Saturday and drop Garner to the bench. I'd even be up for playing MOH as a lone striker and utilising his pace over the top with the long ball. Its probably the only fixture that that tactic would work in. I thought for the second game in a row that big Wes was our best player. Looked very comfortable. He got slated for passing the ball to Kiernan but I don't buy that at all. Kiernan wasn't under heavy pressure and should've dealt with the situation. Saying that, he's been decent of late and I've no worries about him starting the old firm. I would take 2 million for him though
  21. Hallidays position is the one we need to strengthen most in January. He was awful today. Why is he dribbling out from the back after last week? I suppose it's progress from the start of the season where that game would've been a draw. Wes and Clint were excellent! Garner was non existent today. Barrie looked uninterested! Hopefully it's a blip because our winning run will come to an end midweek with that level of performance. Maybe I'm being harsh because I'm nightshift xmas eve though [emoji34]
  22. I have it on ITunes, Amazon, Google Play, 7digital and HMV digital. I also have money on it with the bookies. Ibrox will be bouncing Saturday
  23. We've got Joey Garner! Saturday is going to be mental if he scores. We've now turned a corner and I don't really care what the starting line up is as everyone is looking like they can and want to contribute which is excellent. Its making our bench a lot stronger as well having guys like MOH and Dodoo waiting in the wings ready to make an impact. Hopefully the atmosphere is the same as the last couple of games and we gather some serious momentum going into the game against them! PS Hopefully everyones bought their copy/copies of 'Glad all over' before Thursday night
  24. I saw a rumour on twitter that it was Ryan Babel. Hopefully not though
  25. Superb today. All over the park and the fans were fantastic as well. Was buzzing walking out of Ibrox. 2 centre halves were excellent today and they should keep their place for Friday. Hill has been excellent but let's see if we can get some confidence into these two. Halliday and Holt ran the midfield and I agree with earlier, Halliday takes a doing every game with little protection Barrie McKay was sublime today. The boys young and for me on his day is up there with the best in Scottish football. Warbs should sneak a 20 million pound price tag on him in the press. It's what they do and it works. When he's interested he's a delight to watch. Warbs done well taking him off to an ovation. He could find James Forrests neck with a pass. Garner was excellent again and had Waggy not been so greedy he might've got his rewards. The save from Wes at 0-0 was unreal. That's the type of saves that change games. We go a goal behind and I still fancy us to come back with that performance but you never know. Anyways, a happy bear today. Same again for the rest of the month please
