  1. Reckon the fans will play a massive part today. We need to get at Hearts from the first whistle. We got a reaction last weekend against Aberdeen and now we have a chance for a bit of revenge against Hearts on our own turf. I'd expect a similar line-up to last week with Hill replaced with Wilson. I'd keep the rest the same with Waggy and Forester ready to come on from the bench if we need to change it. Hopefully we take our chances today and as was mentioned above, Garner is involved. I'm absolutely buzzing for this one
  2. It's so true though. I feel for the back 4. They get possession and it suddenly looks like we've 8/9 players. No one wants the ball. I actually can't believe we managed to be worse than parkhead tonight
  3. That was an utterly embarrassing rangers performance. Crooks in at Hearts away? He's knocked that boy back months. Dodoo up top in a role that the guy he spent 2 million on was signed to play. Wallace and Tav playing when neither are in form. Halliday and Holt aren't Rangers class. Miller a great servant but is 37. Kiernan can't do the basics never mind defend. Hearts were excellent on the ball. Long balls up to Dodoo were a waste of time. We looked nervous and amateur. That's a poor Rangers team with no leaders on the park. And folk on here are having a go at a manager who made Rangers 14 million and won 7 trophies. Totally disillusioned with that thinking. Let's stick with winning possession eh
  4. Ha I got caught up in that debate. Gerry didn't deny his program was mince
  5. We are unlikely to make a move for this boy if at all for 6/7 months. I reckon it's a non starter and he'll sign a new deal
  6. 10 in a row for them isn't the same achievement as 9IAR was for us. They've essentially had no competition and I'm including this year. I hope we start challenging seriously soon, but this 5 years down the line bandwagon stuff is boring. There's a little bit too much love being thrown at this Celtic team just now. I hope they keep believing the hype as it'll be their downfall
  7. These two games would've been perfect for Niko as well :-(
  8. I'd love to see this team Gilks Tav Hill Kiernan Hodson Rossiter Halliday Holt MOH Dodoo Miller But we'll get Wes in goal which is fine. Wallace at left back even though he's brought the team down lately. Maybe to soon for Rossiter. And up front we'll have Miller, McKay and Waggy I reckon
  9. Celtic played a formation and style they have been playing for weeks confidently. We played a new system that we haven't used before with players out of form and fitness. A run of wins is a must, hopefully by the time new year comes round we've found a system and first 11 that's reasonably settled and it'll be a different game again. That cup game came to soon for us. A semi against Morton would've been much better with the run of fixtures we have from now until the end of the year but Celtic just came to soon. I still have this confidence we'll find our rhythm and kick on for the rest of 2016. Hearts away is probably our most difficult fixture but as we showed at the sheep away, we can dominate and are capable of taking points
  10. Play good football and you'll create an atmosphere.
  11. He needs to hold his hands up and admit hes got some things wrong and we haven't been playing as well as we could. But for me he gets to the end of the season. We have been unlucky with injuries and other factors but we haven't been close to pass marks so far.
  12. Ive slated Windass but he didn't seem to know where he was supposed to do. A player can pop up all over the park in good reason, like when Holt is on form, he's everywhere. But yesterday JW didn't seem to know where to position himself so ended up upfront, centre mid and defensive mid at times. He looked completely baffled as to what he was supposed to be doing. This affected Holt and Halliday for me who also didn't cover themselves in glory. It seems a pretty Scottish mentality but at times yesterday I felt as if we needed to be stronger, more aggressive, pick up a booking leaving a mark on Forrest or Sinclair. And we made it far to easy for Brown to do the same to us making him look like a fine central midfielder. For me, the season now starts on Wednesday, we have a run of winnable games. We put that game to bed and get the confidence and goals back. Self belief needs instilled into these players and the guys who need a rest need to hold their hands up and say I need a couple of games out. We have a decent size squad, lets start getting game time to some of the fringe players and rest Wallace and McKay til say the Hearts game in principle. Give Forrester and MOH some game time. Dodoo looks like he could become a decent player but he too will need game time. I remember the days when Rangers would get beat and we'd take it out on the next team bossing games start to finish. That needs to happen Wednesday and Saturday. 6 points should lift us up the table and its an absolute minimum from these next two games
  13. For me only Tav, Holt and the keepers get anywhere near pass marks this season. Windass has potential, but he's a long long way from being at the standard we need. He was lost today. Lost the ball constantly. Fair play he's not match sharp and MW shouldn't have started him. Halliday is a 7/10. He's one of us. He gets it. But I don't think we'll challenge with him in the middle of the park. I am not saying he's a bad player but he's not half the player Fergie was in that position. He was bullied today start to finish
  14. He was awful today. He started 3/4 Celtic attacks that should've led to goals. He often looked lost. That wasn't a game for him today. I think he'll come good for the boy but today he was our weakest player. It's games like that that can send young players backwards. Worry MW might burn out guys like McKay. He's been hopeless all season. Wallace needs dropped. 2 big games coming up. Selection will be interesting
  15. Pre season means absolutely nowt. It's all about getting fitness. Which we aren't. If errors today were down to rustiness then MW should've known this, he should've played HF in there in that case. That was the substitution we needed to make today and it wasn't a possibility. I agree with Frankie in that MW bottled it today. Had Holt scored and we won it would be a plaster on a gaping wound. We need to change a lot about the way we play. I wouldn't say any of the players were duds but they clearly lacked self belief today. We set up to sneak it and got battered 1-0. Thankfully their goal came on 87th min and not the 3rd minute as it'd be 5-1 all over again
  16. I meant to mention that. I was going off my head at that. about 40 seconds he took to take that throw-in 1-0 down in a semi final with minutes left to play. It wont happen but he needs dropped. Hodson is good enough to play there and he'd be in on merit.
  17. I don't mind he tried to change it and can see the thinking behind it with Celtic so strong down the left. Hes shot himself in the foot with this plan A better chat, but that's the modern football manager, they have philosophies. Sir Alex was a winner because he knew when to change things, when to put his hand up and say I've got this wrong. It seems as if this whole season we are going to watch this same not really great, not really bad football. We are nowhere near as fit as we were last season which is worrying. A lot of hard work, now with added pressure on the manager for the rest of the season.
  18. I don't think we closed the gap by much if at all after that. I thought we were rotten. So many negatives from that. We could barely pass the ball. We must've started about 10 of their chances by mediocre passes, especially from Windass who couldn't find a Rangers jersey in the first half (albeit he lacks gametime). I think our whole left hand side needs a rethink, Wallace hasn't kicked a ball for us this season and looks out his depth. The amount of times I saw him pointing towards Gilks for other players to play the ball backwards was incredible. McKay looks completely uninterested and by the look on his face he wasn't overly upset at coming off (unlike Miller). We made Scott Brown look a footballer today as we just aren't aggressive enough in the middle of the park. We take quick freekicks when we need to regroup. We take slow freekicks when we should be countering fast. We had a corner we managed to work back to Gilks. We had a freekick in their half that we managed to work back to Gilks. We had a throw-in level with the 18 yard box in their half that we managed to get back to Gilks. All in all we were far to scared of Celtic today. A game where someone needed to put themselves about because Celtic weren't great, we made them look great. Mark Warburton gets the rest of the season, hes been good for us but last seasons shine is beginning to disappear. Persisting with LW and BM. Not giving MOH any sort of look in. Celtic played in midweek where they were run ragged, yet they looked like they'd be more ready for extra time. Overall a very poor day and an indication of how far behind we still are. 2 big games coming up this week. 6 points an absolute MUST
  19. Looks like the gaffer does have a plan B after all. I think it's a good move. Though I'd have had Wes in for Gilks
  20. I'd be surprised if he played for us again. Sounds like that might be it for his career. He really struggled to get fit never mind adding in a major knee injury.
  21. Kept so low key and rightly so. I love our club. RIP Ryan. Number 55 is for you and so many more when it comes
  22. So that stat about not keeping a clean sheet away from home since Feb is now gone albeit down to poor finishing rather than good defending. Though there were some positive aspects there. Wilson has been coming onto a game lately so should give a bit more stability. Senderos could even come in when fully fit. Anyone but Hill for me though he is a threat at corners. Speaking of headers, was good to see Tav get his head to the ball more last night. He has a tendency to let the ball bounce rather than get his head on it.
  23. A great result from a good performance. Better finishing from ICT and we could've had a game on our hands. We need to be better in the final third, we still don't get enough bodies in the box at times. Some pleasing performances, Tav, Nico and Miller excellent. I even thought Sutton must've had his ears bent because he was really really fair tonight. I'm glad we've taken the hardline with BT though. Keep it up
