  1. Is there new medical and fitness staff been added to the backroom staff
no sign of Jim Henry so it would look like it from a fitness point of view. Disappointed to see Duries dreary chops still hanging around. Hope he doesnt sit it the dugout again this year. He made me feel depressed.
  2. Behave! :D

Leeds history consists of half a dozen years of trophies under Don Revie and a championship win in 1992. Nowhere near the top 5.

  3. Aye,but were you guys always going to renew when we got rid of the parasites?,becuase of the W&W appointment coupled with the new signings I was wondering if that has influenced anyone to renew/buy a ST?

Yep - two nephews are going to buy who've never had tickets before. Something about the old 'ex player' tired mafia no longer there. Warburton is believable and a breath of fresh air.

  4. Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday are two poor Championship teams and I don't think it really counts for anything that they wanted to sign him. My feelings on the player are made clear above.

Two far better teams than us and in a better Champonship than us. Leeds could arguably stand up with most of the best in Britain outside the top 3 or 4 as far as history is concerned.

It counts for plenty, or should I say it counts more than your condescending comment to my post would suggest.

My feelings (and others) on the player are made even clearer than yours.

  5. let's not get carried away here

both players are in their 20's......what is "young and hungry" ?

We need to reserve judgement until we see what we've got on the park

Yes - lets stop indulging in that dreaming, believing and hoping lark. It only makes you feel good and that's the Devil's work.

  6. Any kid coming through the ranks would have done well to take note of Papac.

He was never all that but he gave us service and kept his nose clean. He put in an honest shift and thats all you can really ask from a man who was the sole survivor of the PLG cull. One thing that always impressed me about Sasa was that years before he came to us he was involved in a nasty car accident I believe... His doctors ( if i remember rightly ) said he was one bad tackle or blow to the head from doing serious damage. I don't recall the game but someone rifled a piledriver at goal and Papac cleared it off the line with his head.. It was such a wicked shot that Sasa collapsed in a heap and was stretchered off.

Since that day, the big fella has a special place in my heart.. that game was in the midst of the title run. Too many people fawned over the usual suspects in our team but Sasa pulled his weight.

In fact, for me, if everyone in our squad over the past 4 years had one ounce of Sasa's courage, then maybe we wouldn't be sitting here needing a second run up at one of the worst leagues in Europe. So if one of our latest prospects is being compared to Papac, I'm happy enough with that.

Fair enough comment. I wont disagree with that.

  7. Thing is when you look back on youtube videos and watch him play, then compare what we have watched the last three seasons he does look a very decent player, one which we could do with now!

Don't get me started again Ian :( I've already deleted my negative posts. That's the beauty of Youtube. I could show you loads of clips that show his weaknesses e.g try defeats at Pittodrie when he played (watch him defend his blind side). We obviously disagree by a country mile on this one which is fine.

  8. I think our manager has said "I don't want anybody at this Club who 'might go here or might go there'. If he doesn't have a burning desire to be here then I don't want him".

    Good enough for me boss!

  9. Oh how we have fallen!

What a silly statement. I mention Leeds and you say how we have fallen. We are where we are - the same as the giant that is Leeds Utd. You buy winners on short term deals sometimes to pass good habits on to young players and to get you up to the next rung in the ladder.

Have you ever played at a half decent level and stood in the tunnel or walked out on to the park as a youngster when the opposition 'old heads' are threatening to 'have you' and all you have round about you are other kids? It is a giant relief and makes you feel 10 feet tall when one of the older guys in your side, who has been around the block, says "you have to come through me first arsehole". It makes you feel liberated knowing you have someone to cover your back.

33, 34, 35? I dont give a shit. MW knows he is buying a soldier and a leader.

  10. He will be a great signing. I work with loads of guys from the Midlands and nobody has a single bad word to say about him. He had injuries which held him back a bit. But physically the guy is fitter than a butcher's dog. The fact that Leeds, Sheffield Wed and others would have loved his signature speaks volumes. Managers that he has played for constantly talk of the win ratio when he is in the side. He will be a smashing player for us.

  11. I think I must be a thug, the same as Moshni, because if that happened to me in the same circumstances I would have done the same.

Agree 100%. A smack in the chops would have come natural to a lot of us in that position. BTW check out the hypocricy of wee Britney

    http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/hamburg-revenge-not-so-sweet-in-end-for-gemmell.25254140

"Incensed as only he could be, Gemmell turned and chased after the German, who tried to run away, like a wee boy in a playground. In the grainy black-and white footage, Gemmell's right leg suddenly appears to become twice its natural length as it stretches out and applies retribution to Haller, booting him into the air. The Juventus striker had already jumped to cushion the blow.

Poor Tommy Gemmell. He was a great footballer - some said the best left-back in Europe at the time - yet this will remain one of the funniest moments ever seen on an international football field. "

  12. You may well be a thug and going by your comment you probably are if deemed :) Yes if someone had shoved me in the back after a big disappointment I'd have kicked and punched him too.

Next morning I'd be looking for someone to bail me out of Bar-L feeling like a real plonker.

A seven game ban means he can carry on his career eventually, to us in our society can mean possible ruin.

Bar-L for a punch and a kick? What would you punch him with? An iron?
