  1. Get off your high horse son and read what I wrote properly. I DIDN'T SAY the song beat these teams. I said 'blew them away' as in "when I walked out the noise 'blew me away' [sic Gary McAllister etc]. No doubt it got to some of the lads". There are quotes from the time of several players who spoke of the influence the crowd had on the matches. Are you saying they don't for the sake of trying to score a 'put down point' (and failing!)? Were you at any of the above mentioned games as a matter of interest? As for your drama queen comment about the Billy Boys being a 'murderous gang'. What a load of complete inflated tripe! The Billy Boys (named after Billy Fullarton) were basically just a Glasgow [bridgeton] gang of guys, same as multitudes of others that existed then and exist now e.g. Calton Tongs, Baltic Fleet. Some nutters and some hangers on. They adopted a Protestant theme to the gang while other gangs went the other way. Nothing more and nothing less. Go calm down a bit and stop reading Spiers so much as you are beginning to sound like that drama queen. The Billy Boys - a "crap song" and God Save the Queen "drains the spirits"?
  2. BILLY is not an offensive word. Let's take that to Brussels if we need to. LOSE the bit that is banned. And for those who think we shouldn't 'cos some day we may be liked - you must be young.

    Utter Class

    What was it mate?
  4. We have allowed a kangaroo court with an agenda to force us to 'Throw the baby out with the bath water'. One word or line and someone, somewhere banned an atmosphere that blew Leeds. Parma, PSV, Dynamo KIev, Bayern, etc away. WHAT OTHER CLUB IN OUR GLOBE has ever been asked to lose an anthem for one word? NONE! GET IT BACK and tell our support if they want an atmosphere never to forget then they have a choice or it's ruined for ever. "We'll follow Glasgow Rangers. We're loyal and we're true, for we are the [Rangers] Billy Boys. HULLO ! HULLO !" or "To the cry of No Surrender, we don't walk away, for we are the [Rangers] Billy Boys. HULLO ! HULLO HULLO ! HULLO !" (that brings in a modern slogan)
  5. This is an EXACT replica of Leggo's stuff about what Craig Whyte was going to do. Read between the lines of his regurtitation. We can't slag the vicTIMS off for having an obession about us while at the same time miss his obsession with Spiers (can't be arsed with this Odious Creep nonsense). Yes,BBC are VERY guilty of a lot against us recently (RC are just RC and will always be because they are trivial at the end of the day - annoying tivial agreed). People let their heart rule their head though (especially Leggo). Charles Green has admitted his time with us is short (in relative terms). What do you think he is going to spend it doing? Making enemies of every major source of media in this little country or making money? I believe he really has an affection for The Club now but it doesn't blind him. So sorry Leggo, while that clown Spiers gets all the little stints that you would love you will just have to remain extremely jealous of the twat.
  6. I don't mean to be patronising here, but this could go in circles. Have you ever heard a converstaion go along the lines "Dont tell anyone I told you that". And the response comes back "told me what? I didn't hear anything". I believe the above analogy fits with where a certain poster (with a reputation for negativity ) is coming from i.e. 'washing dirty linen in public' and all that.
  7. True - I got that one wrong. Thankfully didn't have any cash on that one!
  8. First part of the bet up! All I need is a win now!
  9. My thoughts exactly! We are crying out for some real experienced creativity in the middle of the park and some solidity in central defence. When Temps was out we created next to nothing for weeks on end.
  10. You are being optimistic GS! Where have you been? That reminds of the story of Noah coming up the Clyde in his Ark - "Bring down your animals in twos as a great tragedy is about to befall your land". Guy standing at the side says "what's this great tragedy pal?" "40 days and 40 nights of rain will sweep your land". The boy starts pissing himself and says "we're already on day 56 big chap!".
  11. Wouldn't disagree with that. If I can get a bet I will take 'draw half-time, win full-time' (just!).
  12. I can't really be arsed with recollections of 'great auld' times past. It's just poetic license to filter the realities in any way you care to. These would be the same great auld days when domestic violence was rife, kept behind 4 walls, never to be spoken about unless you were the neighbour 'doon sters' or through the wa' who had to put up with it. Or the days when men got in their cars after the pub shut and attempted the drive up the road when they could hardly see in front of them, not caring a jot who they 'took out' in the process. As I say filter it any way you care to. I could accuse the Grey\Green Brigade of a lot but I will stop short of blaming them for Christmas becoming more popular than New Year. Try Americanised TV Leggo and you might find an answer closer to the truth there mate. As Gladys Knight sings in 'The Way We Were' - "Hey, you know, everybody's talkin' about the good old days, right? Everybody.......the good old days, the good old days. Well, let's talk about the good old days! Come to think of it as, as bad as we think they are these will become the good old days for our children". Have a great New Year everybody!
  13. Well good on The Sun this morning http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/ - although I'm maybe being a wee bit pedantic here, but I don't think we would have got 'Yobs who shamed [the good name of] Rangers'. We would have got 'Rangers yobs......' "Stadium boss Jim Thompson states "it was no small minority here" No surprise not being able to find a peep in The Record (unless I missed it buried somewhere).

  15. All the best to you and your family ya grumpy bar steward
  16. :D This coming from that little ray of sunshine Kuznetzov who makes every day seem like it's great to be alive, and that life is one big party :party3: :party3: :D
  17. You just can't stomach praise can you? That response is nonsense and you know it. Someone has to continue to nurture the talent. Whats your problem?
  18. Just one thing I would be interested in knowing. You say you believe that the management team are doing a good job over at Breezeblock Boulevard, which you say you believe because of their results and player improvement. Beraing in mind one of the very few positive comments you have made in recent time about Rangers is regarding the progress of our young players. Given that you praise them for player improvement, to who do do see as being praiseworthy for the improvement of our young players?
  19. Careful Ian. You stand the risk of being accused of "getting carried away" by some on here. Put a lid on that positivity mate.
  20. I wasn't actually calling for anybody to be banned. It was tongue in cheek and was in response to Pete's joking comment about banning UCF2008.
  21. Don't rush him back as far as I'm concerned. Defensive midfielder? - didn't do our defence much good? Attacking midfielder? - didn't do our attack much good. Did he control the pace of the game? Probably which is why we were dire often - he wanted the game played at his pace of almost standstill. No pace but skillful? - No! Fans favourite? - I don't know - it's a different breed of fan now. In the past if you had made gestures to the fans the way he has the fans would have let him know he was an imposter - just ask Cammy Fraser. The team has played with tempo since he's been out IMHO. Maybe I'm being harsh.
  22. "Why you pesky kids. Every time there is a good bit of negativity to be had you start meddling and uncover the truth. I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you".
  23. Why are you kidding? Ban him - it's clear the clown is a Tim :tlb:
  24. I was going to do that very one, but there's no telling people's sense of humour. :admin:
