  1. Absolutely. That's the point I'm making. If we had only listened to you about Black we wouldn't be in that mess. Night night.
  2. "I don't really care what you are missing, having seen the damage drugs do to people I will use that as my benchmark." What an arguement you put Einstein!. Despite the FACT I post about alcohol still being a bigger killer than drugs you hit back with that as a "benchmark". Do your mates call you Bullet by any chance?
  3. Oh and we all forgot. Feck!! And look where Rangers are now.Night night.
  4. Am i missing something here? Was this 'alleged' substance for himself or was he trying to sell it to kids? Alcohol is a bigger killer than drugs. Were you equally as apalled that Gazza had to break into a whisky decanter at Breezeblock Boulevard in the final against Hearts before he could start playing? Did you want Gazza out?
  5. As a Glaswegian who worked in Edinburgh for a long number of years I got so fed up of the 'Burgers' in the know gossip. You had a story to tell about EVERY Hibee and Jambo. I couldn't believe what a wee gossipy small town mentality you have. Let it go. We are not talking the US president here. Davie Copper was a gambler. Gazza was a drinker. My God - half of our legends have been heavy drinkers.
  6. I don't think it could be forgotten when forging pre-season expectations that our manager had actually thrown away a lead that would have had anyone else sacked, but was buried in the turmoil of administration. My expectations were that it would be a blessing in disguise going to Div 3 as Ally could cut his teeth as a manager and we could develop a young brand of football (obviously mixed with a few old heads) that would grow into a footballing ethic within 3 or 4 years. May still yet, but not when our young players are standing in midfield in times of trouble watching Alexander launching the ball into orbit, the ball passing miles over their heads, and coming down with snow ot top of it looking for Kevin Kyle etc.
  7. Absolutely agree. My expectation about romping the league didn't change one little bit. The expectation that changed for me was the footballing ethos I thought we would nurture over the 3 years we would be out of the SPL. It just deflated me knowing Ally wanted to fight fire with fire in Div 3.
  8. My God what was I thinking about - you're right!!! Night night!
  9. Yep to those 2 signings, but I must admit my expectations took a big wobbly when we went after Kyle and Beattie (and Sandaza to an extent). I always worry about a manager who wants to buy 'big guns' but forgets to buy 'ammunition'.
  10. Irn Bru and a Mars Bar is great for a hangover. Try it in the morning.
  11. Another one I had is that we would ask Artur Numan back in some capacity after doing brilliantly with the Holland U-21s, knowing he was gutted to leave Scotland (I know from a mate of his that he was desparate for us to offer him a role). I had expectations of at least a couple of the legends helping the coaching cause e.g. Laudrup, as they would have cost little and would bring the place to life. Our academy would be the place that dads wanted their sons to be, knowing they would get 3 years of real 'opporchancity'. But alas....
  12. I think these are things that are due plenty of discussion, but to be fair to the OP it would be kind of interesting to see what everyones expectations were. I know I went a wee bit off track as well in my last post but it would be interesting to keep it on track.
  13. I know you did Zappa, but it's bloody hard when you start typing what your expectations were not to let the emotions take over because of the reality of those expectations being dashed in such an emphatic way.
  14. We would win every home game in the league, and we would draw 2 or 3 away games after the league was won. NO CHANCE of any defeats because we had a seige mentality and were out to prove a point to the world. Hell mend any SPL side that met us in the cups at home. We would adopt a brand of football that would become the club ethos and 3 years from now our whole academy would be adopting it as a religion (and we are actually playing punts up the park to Kevin Kyle. I could cry!). It worked wonders for teams like the German national side taking 3 or 4 years out to get to that point. When would you ever get that opportunity again? My HONEST expectation was that Ally would not be the man to lead that rennaisance. I have said since the start of the season and before that he got too close to players during the troubles in the summer. He still wanted to be Ally pal\manager and it doesn't work. He still plays football with them at training and wants to be one of the guys. All the top managers find that distance between them and the players so that when they have to lay down the law the players fear the manager. Ally will NEVER get that. I KNEW the players had NO reason to fear either the manager or the chop because there is nobody to replace them and they sure as hell don't really fear Ally. The only plus point for me is that OUR FANS HAVE FAR OUTWEIGHED ALL EXPECTATIONS and have made me even more proud than I have ever been to be a Rangers Man. For me that fans momentum HAS to be maintained otherwise it really is gloom and doom if you think about it. I didn't expect the worst string of results in our entire history. Nor did I expect them to be dismissed like we are going through a bad patch in the SPL. We just lost against the worst team in Scotland today and to be told as a Rangers man that it will all be OK after we work on finishing at training this week frightens the living feckin daylights out of me. Are we going to be brain washed into accepting post match analysis' as though we are Raith Rovers or the likes?
  15. Just back from Stirling. Not a ticket in sight. Hundreds left outside. How long once the winter kicks in will the punters put up with this at away games. CG isn't daft. He knows that if the momentum of fan backing dips then it's hard to get that same momentum back. Action needed.

    Greg Wylde

Aird already is streets ahead of where Wylde was. He drove me nuts due to the headless chicken runs he made at times. He had pace but didn't have one trick up his sleeve. Mark Walters only really had one trick i.e. his step over, but he was so good at it he was hard to stop. Every winger needs at least 1. Every now and again you get someone with 101 but not many Laudrups come along in a lifetime, and I can always dream!
  17. I'm just about to hit the road and will be travelling all day, so the floor is yours. I think you got me by a technical KO anyway.
  18. You are way too clever for me you, you, you......totally clever guy you!! What are you like you cheeky monkey?
  19. It funny you recalling that story Zappa - I was just thinking back to my wee granny and my parents and there were always orange lillies around and this was Bridgeton! One day when I was a kid my wee granny walked in with an emerald green jumper on and I was taken aback. I said "granny why have you got a green jumper on? (knowing full well she was a right wee bluenose)" I will never forget her response - she put her arm round me and said "son it's a green stem that grows the beautiful orange lilly". Could be taken a couple of ways I suppose but I liked when my wee granny thought she was being all profound. In saying that she did tend to get beyond herself. Like the day when there was a bit of bother going on down at the bottom of the street and she came in all excited saying that the "Polis have put a big accordian up right roon the place" (it's the orange bands I blame for that mistake :-)
  20. And we probably will. I did try to say earlier there is no right or wrong on this one.....but hey ho and away we go..... :-)
  21. I wasn't aware Freud dealt in the bleeding obvious, and those words I quoted were yours - no? Oh wait (read on.....) "I dragged you down to my level"....aahhh right. You pesky kids - I would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you...... Aw dinkums - why are you resorting to personal insults? After you telling me off for that very thing and all.... Oh and by the way I'd stick a wee top on if I were you....you'll catch your death standing about like that......all that gay talk going on as well on earlier posts. Can't be too careful!
  22. Your words are there in black and white. What more should I provide FFS? YOU use the words "we have lost the support of the middle classes", which infers that there are different 'classes' in your mind. Surely? Does it NOT? And you want us to model ourselves in such a way as to "get our PR right" to win the back. That's what you said. NO?? So in your mind we are already divided into classes, and you want us to pand...., sorry, change, to win them over. Thank you. Isn't that what I just said?
