  1. Rebuilding relationships has to work both ways though, some kind of apology our way would be a start
  2. The club must also take this opportunity to rebuild relationships with the football community in Scotland Only bit I have much problem with, otherwise seems a fair statement
  3. Direct link removed Just to back up, a comment from me on RM on the 16th of January, you can argue about Paul Murray but I'm hardly declaring my support for the present regime there.
  4. I'm not particularly keen on Chris and Craig as people, I have my reasons for that. But I'm sure you could accept there is some over the top lavish praise going on in some quarters, ultimately we all deserve praise going back to how we kept the club alive in 2012. And now we all have a big role to play including in scrutinising the new regime, I've learned my lessons.
  5. Maybe, but I'm only going by the Kingsnorth interview and Ashley marginalising them seemed to be the main motive. There's a few if, buts and maybes that you can consider, with more season ticket money Wallace might not have lost his power struggle in the boardroom so all this could have been sorted even sooner. More support for the team might have us in a more stable situation on the park, admittedly doubtful with the incompetence of our coaches and players. It might have kept some people in a job and avoided the need to sell Lewis Macleod. Boycotting was a high risk gamble, I'm personally not convinced it was worth it but so long as we can have no more boycotting now that things have changed for the better than i'll easily get over it.
  6. I made a frustrated comment about SOS and Craig Houston in particular on my own facebook page, it doesn't look like you'll be letting me forget it even when I've directly said I retract it. Like you've never gone over the top yourself. Why talk like that when I've been clear that I supported King ousting the board the very moment he called the EGM? And surely the only winner we all want out of all this is Rangers?
  7. If the loans would have come about anyway then surely we'd have reached this point anyway as well? Laxey were pissed off at the power Ashley had and him forcing their man off the board. I don't think other shareholders could maintain a confidence in any board with such poor financial performance, King and his people talked them around which is what he should have tried sooner in my opinion. It's just my opinion, nothing about this has been definitive.
  8. Well I disagree, not that it matters now does it? I retract what I've said previously, I want everyone back at Ibrox regardless of why they stayed away
  9. The boycotts also created a situation where we needed so many of these large loans, hence Mike Ashley. So it could be argued they helped Llambias and Leach in the door. If you listen to the Laxey guy's interview when they sold their shares he didn't say it was because of boycotts, it was because Ashley forced out Norman Crighton and basically they lost confidence in the board. I believe shareholders simply lost any faith in the board's competency. But the end result is the right one so it's an inconsequential debate now.
  10. I just don't think it especially helps us going forward, everyone has done plenty in their own way even if they weren't always present at protests. I could conceivably say I did a lot more for the referendum than others because I campaigned, but in the end everyone who got out and voted No won it. There's nothing wrong with praising people if you believe they deserve it and I'm not looking for any myself, but when I see things (not on Gersnet) about how we should be naming stands after Craig Houston and Chris Graham and giving them lifetime season tickets I wonder what planet I'm on. I acknowledge it absolutely, Graham Wallace is where I'd say I was taken in, I thought he was a credible figure and while I still think he was he should clearly have been more honest about the conditions he had to work with and how others were working against him on the inside. Also whatever I've said about Green in the past some of the people he had around him like Ahmad and Stockbridge were utter disasters. The bigger issue for me is always that I've never been convinced by Dave King and Paul Murray as alternatives yet they always seem to have been the only alternatives. Nevertheless things have got so bad that they have to be better options now. The regime previously had much better PR and seemed capable of a charm offensive even with fan group pressure. Even if they'd had the sense to fire McCoist much earlier and have us in a better situation on the park it might have helped them to an extent. There's been so little attempt the last few months to even try and win over the support I find it hard to believe how anyone wouldn't have reached the same conclusion. Indeed, they have to be taken on their own merits and not always considered the right people simply because they aren't the previous guys. The temptation is understandable, the football on the park doesn't exactly act as much of a push either. I'll never accept boycotts were right or that they helped the situation but it's not in the club's interests for there to be bitterness remaining amongst us so I hope everyone comes back whatever the reason they stayed away and that Ibrox is full from now on.
  11. EGM should have no need to go ahead, what an utter waste
  12. His wealth doesn't matter when he won't spend it on us or even intimate any plans to.
  13. Will we have a new share issue soon or more likely a rights issue at first? I'd be keen to buy in but currently still don't have any shares. Happy to say I contributed to Rangers First, what they've achieve in such a short time is outstanding.
  14. I've never claimed to be an innocent when it comes to fan bickering, none of us are perfect. I've barely been coming on here for months, but I can dig out posts from elsewhere if need be. I've even managed to get myself accused of being a King lover by someone throughout all this believe it or not. I don't mind being addressed directly you know Frankie. Reason people will use different language on here is because they will be following the rules set out for this forum, I'd assume that's what you want. I have personal reasons for disliking some individuals without it necessarily being related to protests against the regime. I don't have a problem with people being given credit if it's balanced because I believe every single Rangers fan deserves credit. We've all been through hell these last few years, we've all thought and done what we believe is best for the club, we've all in our own way kept the club alive because our future has been at great risk, and we've all said enough is enough the last few weeks. What I'm uncomfortable with is over the top praise for some sections which seems like a subtle way of saying some are much better than others. All 'sides' can be accused of that so I'm not having a go at anyone in particular or claiming to be an angel myself, but we can't go on in perpetual factions and calling out each other for this and that, ultimately football fans are meant to have the main purpose of supporting the team together. My point in this thread is that the board have largely hung themselves, certainly in the more recent months anyway. It didn't take a secret reveal to show what a farce Somers made of the AGM, it didn't take a secret reveal for the fans to unite in outrage against Ibrox nearly being mortgaged because the board themselves announced that, it didn't take a secret reveal to show that PR has been non-existent and the likes of Llambias haven't even been trying to win over the support, it didn't take a secret reveal to show that Ashley hasn't even attempted to speak out and express any sort of future plans for the club, it didn't take a secret reveal for people to know Llambias and Leach were Ashley's men even when it was being officially denied they were. We could go on, but I'm actually trying to credit our support with intelligence and I don't see any conceivable way this board were going to last, since Wallace and Nash went it's been one disaster after another. One thing you can say about Green is that he at least attempted to win people over however insincere it may have been, there's been nothing like that lately. By all means we can give the groups credit but I've no doubt many have reached their own conclusions regardless and we all have a key role to play going forward. While there is scepticism of Kingco out there I don't think I've come across a Rangers fan anywhere including online the last few weeks who thinks that we've got a better future with the present regime. Where is the board being even slightly defended in that? That was even before they tried to use Ibrox as collateral which was absolutely over the limit for me. You didn't use to be all that keen on fan groups yourself once if I remember correct. I was happy to attack what I thought was harming the club such as boycott campaigns, that was out of genuine fear that it would harm Rangers, even if my tone wasn't always the best it was never agenda driven. I still don't think boycotts have particularly helped but recently I've had a very close family member talking about chucking it if Llambias, Easdale etc remained in place so that goes beyond forum arguments. The concept that Ashley has been behind everything is only relatively recent. You'll struggle to find me supporting him, his loans or his placemen. At the very first I was willing to reserve judgement and see what impact having a billionaire and a former Premier League MD would have but it quickly became clear what route it was going down regardless of Ashley's wealth. If you're referring to Charles Green as his placeman then fair enough but I think Ashley's initial interest was sponsorship deals, getting involved in the boardroom running has been fairly new. I had my reasons for liking Green such as the money he raised, I'm not going to hide away from that but he's not been directly involved in running us for nearly two years so my opinions have evolved since, even if as some think he's still been running things from the background. Whatever you believe the club's wellbeing has always been my only concern, I've got no motive for it to be anything else. I'd never claim to have always been right either, and I would like to think this is a new beginning for all of us.
  15. Trolling? Not at all, I've always given my honest opinion. I don't believe things have always been awful from the moment Green took over, I don't believe that every single board member has necessarily been bad, plenty will disagree and by all means we can go over these sort of debates again but I don't see the point personally. I've been united with pretty much every Rangers fan in being against this regime since Ashley started to take the piss and I've been in favour of King ousting the board from the moment he called the EGM. We've all thought and done what we believe is right, ultimately I'm hoping we can get back to what we're meant to do and be united supporting the team rather than sniping at each other and declaring how one set of fans are better than another.
  16. I've been against the board for some time, scepticism of alternatives has continued but we've been left with a straight choice
  17. They've been forced out by their own ineptitude and people buying up shares, it's that simple really. I accept people like the SOS, RST as individuals more than I do and that's fair enough, but as far as the current change goes the board was a ticking time bomb with or without these groups.
  18. You'll have a hard time finding where I've cheered on Ashley, Llambias, Somers and co.
  19. The Green days are gone, I've been unequivocal on the regime's performance for some time now
  20. How were they going to last burning through so much cash and treating the fans with such contempt?
  21. Having Wallace, Nash and Crighton on board gave them credibility so that probably helped, then they were all gone when they didn't dance to Ashley's tune
  22. It's come to something when even Somers looks more dignified than them
