  1. Twofold, first I find the clamour for a "fan" on the Board rather bewildering as I don't know of any Board member who isn't a fan, do you?

Secondly I view the main role of a Non Executive Director as providing a check and balance to the Executive and holding them to account if and when necessary and I didn't believe Chris Graham possessed the required experience (at least yet anyway) to carry out those duties on behalf of the shareholders. I believe someone like George Letham to be far more qualified and experienced in that arena. I'm not too fussed if the NED's are Rangers fans or not nor do I believe the fact they are should be held against them. To be honest the appointment of Chris Graham didn't cause me any sleepless nights nights and given what has transpired frankly my feeling is one of overwhelming sadness for it was our "own" who started the witch hunt.

I don't really disagree at all with all those reasons, you've got me very wrong if you think it was all about some irrational hatred of fan reps and groups otherwise I'd have had a problem with Bennett and Blair since they're part of Rangers First, which incidentally I gave £120 a few weeks ago. I trust you've known me long enough now to realise I'm hardly a completely unreasonable person. I think his online behaviour was also relevant to his suitability, and I cannot claim to be an online angel myself but I'm never going to become a Rangers PLC director in my life.

Which one of our own started the witch hunt?

You may have put your pitch fork away for now but it's been well used over the last few years.

Considering how long the Board have been in place it's a bit premature to claim they're not living up to their promise of transparency.

As much as I desire the status of the RFB to be settled one way or another asap I can perfectly understand that it's not at the top of their list of priorities at the moment.

Maybe, but every time Paul Murray has attempted to get himself in the door I said I'd accept it if he managed to do so despite being far from an ideal choice of mine, that still stands now.

I'm not claiming they haven't lived up to it, it doesn't feel like a lot has changed yet in terms of fans getting real engagement but obviously it's early days and I look forward to progress.

I don't particularly see the RFB as a complicated issue for the new board, Llambias spitefully started the disbandment and from what I gather didn't manage to fully complete the process before being booted out so it wouldn't be a hugely difficult to reverse it and the infrastructure is all still there, or they may want to allow the disbandment to complete anyway. Those are the representatives that we democratically voted in so I don't think a bit of time to decide their future is so unreasonable to expect.

  2. A lot of words but not one about why he would be inappropriate for the position - and the twitter debacle isn't why you feel that as you felt he was inappropriate prior to the re-tweet becoming a topical subject.

I have been through it before Craig, and I've said previously that the tweet in question was far from being my main reason, I'm very anti-PC as it happens.

  3. I didn't need to add anything together to get the right answer, see post #456.
Yes I know I was reaffirming it, I'm not going to feign sympathy although as I've said I'd rather it hadn't happened the way it did through a media circus.

I too wish the appointment hadn't been made however my reasons are entirely different to your own.
What are those reasons out of interest? My own are that the appointment was inappropriate and divisive, not simply to do with my own couple of personal grievances, the problem is those grievances seem to have been replicated multiple times elsewhere so we weren't dealing with isolated incidents. I'd have had no issues with Chris standing for the fans board and getting democratically elected but being appointed to the PLC without the wider support even getting a say on it wasn't right in my opinion.

That could have been interesting given your hatred of our current Chairman seems to be the match of your hatred of Chris Graham.

Paul Murray got voted in by shareholders and while sceptical of his CV and suitability for the role is clearly far more qualified than Chris Graham. He's been chairman for five minutes so while i'll be scrutinising heavily i'll also be giving him a fair shot before getting the pitch fork out. Therefore as our chairman and part of a regime who has promised much more transparency than we've been used to I will attempt to go to him with constructive questions and complaints whenever I feel the need to. Providing an email address for himself and an update on whether they will be continuing with the fans board or not would be a good start.

  4. So you were planning to try and get him removed? :hm:

It's sad that you have that much bad feeling against a fellow Gers fan who, from what I can see, has the club's best interests at heart.

Fellow Gers fan or not he wasn't a fan liaison man or a fan board member, he was a PLC member, one of the highest positions you can get at the club. If in some strange set of circumstances I got appointed to the Rangers PLC Gersnet would be in uproar despite me being a fellow fan. As a long time paying customer and even potential future investor in a share issue I'd surely have been entitled to express concerns about someone I thought was inappropriate, we've had plenty of inappropriate directors lately but complaining would have been rather pointless considering the lack of any sort of transparency or engagement, this new regime has promised to be different.

It's an academic discussion now but I mentioned it because there's a school of thought that some Rangers fans played a big part in the media going after Chris Graham, but despite me being as far away from his fan club as possible running to the media was never in my thoughts.

  5. Would like to think no Rangers fan did but Chris Graham's discomfort was something different all together.
Indeed it is, and you're more than intelligent enough to put two and two together and get the right answer there. But in the main I wish the appointment hadn't happened in the first place, and for the avoidance of doubt I had nothing to do with how it all unravelled. Any problems I had I intended to go to the club directly with, not the BBC.
  6. This seems to go along with the Newcastle manager saying he'd be ready to resume his loan with us in a couple of weeks, yet McCall said all the Newcastle lads probably won't kick a ball for us.

The seeming confusion and lack of communication is worrying.

  7. I called this a while ago barring a real instant improvement in the product. A good number of people seemed to seriously be anticipating full houses immediately after King took over but I never thought that was possible overnight, we didn't lose all the people we have from games because of the boardroom and nothing else. Even with a relatively modest increase in numbers the atmosphere hasn't improved the last two matches one jot either, there is a lot of serious work to do. The honeymoon period is over if there ever really was one.

  8. When I said I thought he was done once all this broke some took that as me celebrating but I was stating what I thought the case would be, you simply don't survive in high profile roles with incidents like this.

  9. looking more and more like a PR stunt. Why he didn't just send players who could actually play, who knows! Might become of benefit during play offs but hard to see any manager putting them in for their first games at such a critical point unless we were still struggling.

This lot of players have so far lost 9-1 on aggregate against what would be our probable play-off opponents Hibs this season, I doubt any of us are hugely confident about us closing that gap next week.

Frankly I'd be happy to throw them in

  10. Speaking figuratively. Certainly last minute and years after 98% of Gersnet.

I've been very sceptical of the previous going back months and my full support went towards their removal the minute the EGM was announced. It might not be clear on Gersnet since I haven't posted that regularly on here for a while but you tend to find see posts on RM so see if you can find anything supportive of the board all that recently.

I know you like to continually slag my past opinions but at least be factual about it. I also note how you seem to forget me being one of the early people to see through Ally McCoist as a manager.

  11. I don't know if they did run to the BBC, but i have my suspicions ( as do many others) they furnished some the evidence to our enemies who did run to the BBC.

That's it, suspicions. Personally I'd rather look at the section of fans we know for certain are responsible.

  12. Sadly one of the most disappointing things for me was, there was some of our own actively tweeting and posting against Chris.

People were more than entitled to a negative view on his appointment, that doesn't mean they went running to the BBC though

  13. There's no reason to turn on fellow fans for this debacle no need at all. This kind of thing happens all over the

world regarding who is unfit for position. Calm down and don't smash you brother.

The determination of some to blame other Rangers fans is in itself disappointing, when all available evidence shows that the instigator of this was tims.

  14. I was hoping we where going to get some fighting men on the new board, sadly it looks like we got the dignified silence, take up the rear men again.

I did feel that people were getting far too carried away with the new regime and expecting them to be something special simply because they weren't Mike Ashley and co.

  15. Not this again - no I don't know for sure.

But my faith in our new Board indicates to me that they will see this for what it is - a storm in a tea cup that has been dragged up in a witchhunt by ****s, mhedia and some of 'our own' who threatened that they would get CG off the board by hook or by crook if he were ever appointed.

Musilm leaders not happy ?? what are they ever happy about when it comes to our country and our way of doing things ??!!

He might stay, but bear in mind Murray and King were part of a board previously that didn't make a habit of standing up for our club against the media forces, I just think you should perhaps prepare yourself for disappointment. I could be wrong.

Very true about the Muslim leaders.

  16. If only it were that simple...............

The problem is that this will eventually be used as a stick to beat Rangers with by our mhedia enemies i.e. having CG as a director damaging Rangers reputation.

His position will become untenable & he'll need to go

Absolutely, and the thing is we're not talking about a complete isolated incident, Chris has a history of questionable online behaviour (as do I probably but I'm not going to become a Rangers director). If this gets blown over something else will crop up.
