  1. That is below the belt. I too got to the goal posts but got suckered by the Fourth Division, only because I wouldn't put it past them. Now where did I put those blood pressure tablets....
  2. I think for a lot of people it would come down to a choice of ST's or shares.
  3. Sums up my feelings pretty well, unfortunately for us it is too little, too late. When all of this is over and the post mortems begin, the media have a lot to answer for. I am in despair that they are not giving the SFA and SPL the same treatment that they gave us. Yes, it is the substance of this article but what about the rest of them? They should be ripping them apart, but then I am deluded because they don't have any integrity.
  4. I am confused by this too as my understanding now is that they are not pursuing us but the individuals who benefited from it, therefore where did the huge tax amount come from? Was that the amount owed but now they are saying not from us?
  5. You had me worried there that this was an article from the Independent but to put it in perspective it is a reply on the sports pages of the Irish Independent. It could have been written in Scotland today, however, because it is typical of the biased message that has been peddled in this country about the bigoted club and its supporters and no-one but the blindest idiot or bigot could believe that only Rangers have supporters like this. To put it in perspective, I follow a football team, not a bigotted ideology. I am quite capable of thinking for myself and my thoughts are that we have enough bigoted media here without adding more from Dublin. I have to ask, why did you post this?
  6. I think in terms of the bigger picture you are probably right, but so far I have saved about £210 since mid May and the money I am saving will go to Rangers shares or the RFFF, so I am happy with that.
  7. I cancelled in April and the reason I gave them was the way the SFA were treating Rangers, not just the sanctions but the fact the SFA were doing nothing to assist a club in trouble. To be honest, I cannot remember the exact specifics now as there have been so many things have happened and it is difficult to keep track of what happened when. As I said, I was making an economic protest, telling them that they were sponsoring an organisation that was putting the boot into my club. I felt really angry and had no other way of venting my fury. I wrote to the SFA and SPL and never received a reply and telephoned the SFA and left a message and no-one got back to me. Their silence has been deafening unless it had the words sanctions or sporting integrity in it.
  8. I cannot see any way that these two incompetents will survive this. There is all round bad feeling towards them outwith the SPL (and no doubt secretly within it too). I would imagine they will be a major part of the parliamentry committee's work. At the very worst both will move on to pastures new, in a "promotion".
  9. I have to say, I am really missing it. I can't believe how poor "council telly" is. I will look at other options in time, or just be more sociable and go to the pub more.
  10. I certainly do not consider myself as a fundamentalist but did cancel my Sky. I see it in the same terms as a boycott, it is an economic protest.
  11. "We are also concerned that there has not as yet been an opportunity for clubs to receive legal advice from the SFL and/or debate the potential consequences on the smooth running of our league in the event that the Courts are asked to annull/strike down any of the corporate transactions that have led to the current position of Sevco Scotland Ltd as owners of certain assets of the Rangers oldco." I think this is a very valid point. I took this to mean, that if Craig Whyte's purchase of the club is fraudulent, what does that mean for the current ownership of the club? I have been saying from the beginning that the SFA should not have acted until the law had taken it's course. We only see it from our perspective, that we would be the victims of a crime and would have been punished unjustly. My fear is that they use it to say suspend us until this has played out. "Indeed, the position as regards the potential sanctions to be applied by the Scottish FA via its Appellate Tribunal has also still to be bottomed out. In summary, we remain concerned that the SPL clubs have overwhelmingly voted to pass on this potential time bomb, which may yet explode once passed to the SFL’s jurisdiction, and we are being asked to accept this new company into membership, worse still in our top division." It is an absolute nonsense that we and other clubs are entering this whole process blind as to what the levels of sanctions would be for SFL1 and SFL3. What happens if there is further fallout from these decisions after the fact? A scenario which is highly likely, with boycotts, season ticket sales affeccted, ill will and all of the other repercussions that have still to come. It would seem the SFL clubs are being more circumspect and pragamtic than the SFA and the SPL.
  12. I cannot believe in the big conspiracy theory. This whole Rangers thing has been played out in the public domain, meaning a fantastic amount of interest in it. If there was a conspiracy, some of our enemies would have been on to it in a flash.
  13. I admire Black's dig but that's where it ends. Diouf did nothing on the field, nor for our reputation. Black would be the same. He can't help himself and is too much of a loose cannon for me.
  14. Sense at last. Thanks, Frankie. Agreed, on both your posts.
  15. Excellent statement. Well done to Kilmarnock and their supporters.
  16. I would like to know what your thoughts are on sanctions. The Stenhousemuir Chairman has stated that the transfer embargo is still in the mix. "The meeting was then addressed by Stewart Regan. He set out the SFA position very clearly. As the governing body they considered that the punishment forRangers Newco needed to be significant. The punishment they are proposing of relegation from the SPL, a one year transfer embargo, a significant fine and the related EUFA 3 year ban from Europe was fair and just. This did not include any subsequent punishments which may or may not be raised re the dual contracts enquiry." It was shown to be illegal in a court of law and to continue with it is spiteful, bloody minded and provocative. We are likely to be placed in SFL1 for the sake of the game. I can accept that and as you can see from my other posts I wish no harm on other clubs but there needs to be a compromise on the matter of sanctions. I would like to see some support from the other clubs and pressure placed on the SFA to abandon this madness to allow a line to be drawn under this. Fan power of other clubs has had a massive bearing on our crisis during which time the Rangers fans have been powerless. We need to make our feelings known on the transfer embargo. I will never accept it.
  17. I do not think for a minute that will happen.
  18. If I search my soul, I would have to say I would have felt a certain amount of glee if this had happened to Celtic. But to be honest, would I have wanted rid of them completely? No. I would have wanted them punished but I would have hoped that the authorities would have restrained my baser instincts and said "enough, lets move on". I think that the many non Rangers fans will feel much the same about us and I think that most reasonable people would wish things had not come to this. I think we might see some unexpected left field moves this week, particularly since the appointment of a parliamentary committee into the game. If I were Regan or Doncaster, I would be ashamed that I had failed to the point where parliament had to become involved and I would be doing whatever necessary to sort this sorry mess out. Sort the sanctions out, act within the laws of the game, stop the recriminations and then restructure the game. The master plan of trying to do both simultaeously has failed spectacularly. It is the vacuum that everyone is working in that is creating uncertainy and in rangers supporters, add fear to that. If you treat people unfairly you will get extreme responses and if you continue to prolong their agony they will turn.
  19. Is it not more likely that Regan's statement the day before, that Rangers would not be allowed into the SPL, decided some minds? This allegation is schoolboy stuff, amateurish and quite frankly laughable if it weren't so serious.
  20. I don't think any of us will come out of it very well and there will certainly be some unpalatable home truths at the end of it.
  21. Thanks, I wasn't sure about that. That puts a different perspective on my understanding of the decision. Need to think again about the SFL thing then.
  22. The SFL would bring sanctions with it, sanctions which the Manager and CEO found unacceptable and if it included a transfer ban, are also unacceptable to me. I have changed my mind about this almost daily. I would have liked SFL1 with sanctions in keeping with the rules and befitting the crime, but that is not an option. The easy solution would have been to accept our application to the SPL and demote us in the name of "sporting integrity" but the irrational response of the rest of football fans, coupled with the bungling of the authorities, rendered this impossible. I will not be held responsible for their mistakes and certainly will not be to blame for the breakdown of Scottish society, an argument which could just as easily have been used by the SFA/SPL in their decision making today. It is clear from these events that Scottish society is broken and I am shocked and horrified by this because my "hatred" of one or two teams ended with the final whistle or a good post match rant. We had a financial collapse and have been little but onlookers as football tore itself apart.
