  1. I cannot believe in the big conspiracy theory. This whole Rangers thing has been played out in the public domain, meaning a fantastic amount of interest in it. If there was a conspiracy, some of our enemies would have been on to it in a flash.

  2. And the facts are that report/presentation is somewhat worrying.

However, it doesn't say is our acceptance of sanctions carries over into our SFL presentation. I'd sincerely hope not as if we're unable to sign new players the chances of us being promoted from Division 3 are significantly lower.

Sense at last. Thanks, Frankie. Agreed, on both your posts.

  3. My feeling is that the law and rules of association are different concepts - I'm sure there are those members of this forum who will correct me if I'm wrong.

By agreeing to become a member of a club or association one agrees to obey and follow the rules of that organisation. These rules have nothing to do with law but are simply an agreement between club members. They don't have to be enforceable by law and it is not illegal to break them (Simply against the rules of the club).

    What?

    Just answer the question.

  4. I would like to know what your thoughts are on sanctions. The Stenhousemuir Chairman has stated that the transfer embargo is still in the mix.

"The meeting was then addressed by Stewart Regan. He set out the SFA position very clearly. As the governing body they considered that the punishment forRangers Newco needed to be significant. The punishment they are proposing of relegation from the SPL, a one year transfer embargo, a significant fine and the related EUFA 3 year ban from Europe was fair and just. This did not include any subsequent punishments which may or may not be raised re the dual contracts enquiry."

It was shown to be illegal in a court of law and to continue with it is spiteful, bloody minded and provocative.

We are likely to be placed in SFL1 for the sake of the game. I can accept that and as you can see from my other posts I wish no harm on other clubs but there needs to be a compromise on the matter of sanctions. I would like to see some support from the other clubs and pressure placed on the SFA to abandon this madness to allow a line to be drawn under this.

Fan power of other clubs has had a massive bearing on our crisis during which time the Rangers fans have been powerless. We need to make our feelings known on the transfer embargo. I will never accept it.

  5. If I search my soul, I would have to say I would have felt a certain amount of glee if this had happened to Celtic. But to be honest, would I have wanted rid of them completely? No. I would have wanted them punished but I would have hoped that the authorities would have restrained my baser instincts and said "enough, lets move on". I think that the many non Rangers fans will feel much the same about us and I think that most reasonable people would wish things had not come to this.

I think we might see some unexpected left field moves this week, particularly since the appointment of a parliamentary committee into the game. If I were Regan or Doncaster, I would be ashamed that I had failed to the point where parliament had to become involved and I would be doing whatever necessary to sort this sorry mess out. Sort the sanctions out, act within the laws of the game, stop the recriminations and then restructure the game. The master plan of trying to do both simultaeously has failed spectacularly. It is the vacuum that everyone is working in that is creating uncertainy and in rangers supporters, add fear to that. If you treat people unfairly you will get extreme responses and if you continue to prolong their agony they will turn.

  6. I agree with most of that but as things stand with the two leagues the SPL did not have the ability to demote us.

Thanks, I wasn't sure about that. That puts a different perspective on my understanding of the decision. Need to think again about the SFL thing then.

  7. I'm getting really worried now. I can't for the life of me understand why so many of our fans want us to start in Div. 3 knowing it could spell the end of several SPL clubs. It can only be for the reason that we want to see Scottish football stuffed as some kind of revenge. Yes, I appreciate that the integrity of the SFL means that a club cannot parachute straight in at the top - that's their rules after all - but for our 'sins' banishment from the SPL should be sufficient punishment. And there has to be an exception made: you'd think that the likes of P. Thistle would welcome the extra revenue we bring.

If in 2-3 years half the SPL clubs are in liquidation then how does that profit us with no one to play? Forget the English leagues - it aint going to happen. So why destroy our bread and butter for some fit of pique. It's crazy. Mutally assured destruction.

The SFL would bring sanctions with it, sanctions which the Manager and CEO found unacceptable and if it included a transfer ban, are also unacceptable to me.

I have changed my mind about this almost daily. I would have liked SFL1 with sanctions in keeping with the rules and befitting the crime, but that is not an option.

The easy solution would have been to accept our application to the SPL and demote us in the name of "sporting integrity" but the irrational response of the rest of football fans, coupled with the bungling of the authorities, rendered this impossible. I will not be held responsible for their mistakes and certainly will not be to blame for the breakdown of Scottish society, an argument which could just as easily have been used by the SFA/SPL in their decision making today.

It is clear from these events that Scottish society is broken and I am shocked and horrified by this because my "hatred" of one or two teams ended with the final whistle or a good post match rant. We had a financial collapse and have been little but onlookers as football tore itself apart.

  8. I dont think that it was down to one person to be fair Dutchy. Regan is clearly culpable but we cant ignore who sold RFC to Whyte either. Whyte should never have gotten as far as being proposed to the SFA as our new owner. Our previous owner should have prevented the sale.

I take your point about Murray, but to know and do nothing, then punish us for knowing and doing nothing is wrong.

  9. Regan and Doncaster have messed up big time.

Their eye has been off the ball. They have been more intent on crucufying Rangers than anything else.

If they had managed this properly they would have put the breaks on the SPL clubs making their decisions public, which would have given them a measure of control. Once "democracy" kicked in they lost control.

I do not believe they thought the result was a foregone conclusion, given the discusions at the weekend. Regan's disgraceful comment yesterday that Rangers would not be allowed in the SPL (we don't believe you, Regan) has to be seen in the context of todays meeting. In other words, it wasn't happening.

The result is a foregone conclusion. Rangers into SFL1 for financial reasons. Doncaster has had months to perfect his "41 club" speech justifying this course of action. The only problem is that it doesn't fit with "sporting integrity" or with the "new democracy". Get out of that one

Their handling of this has been incompetent. There should be a vote of no confidnece in these jokers. We can't do it, as we have no league, but I would be very surprised if one was not forthcoming.

    Footnote

Regan knew about Whyte and did nothing and it is possible that he communicated that to Doncaster.

I use the word demoracy loosely as one side has not been allowed to campaign in all of this.

  10. The talk at the moment is all about Sky which is an unknown quantity as no-one knows what they will do. What is clearer is an estimation of the gate receipts they will lose without Rangers based on last and previous seasons. I gave up my Sky and ESPN when the sanctions were announced and made my reasons plain to Sky. They have e mailed me and lettered me to entice me back with a cracking 6 month deal. I will miss the Champions League games, the Spanish games and the EPL but I can live without them because the only ones that were must see were the Rangers games. No Rangers, no Sky and I am a grand a year better off which will go to RFC.

  11. Twitter is the way to go. Unfortunately, I have a twitter account but can't work it! I have tried to put some quesions to Alex Thomson but it didn't work. Too busy on this and other forums and with life in general to get into it just now. But for others who are less technically challenged than myself, get intae it. I can't even find the smilies on here. Help! Some of my posts are being misconstrued because I cannot show a facial expression. Sad, I know, but truthful.
