If I could vote on it, I would vote for the third division; because it means we do our penance, no one can complain and as others have said we can bounce back like Fiorentina, who played us in the semi-final of the UEFA Cup , six years after going bankrupt and starting again in the 4th Division..
Fairytale stuff alright. We have applied to join, SFL1 is the authorities recommendation for economic reasons, a different set of circumstances to Fiorentina. This is no longer just about what to do about us but has provided an opportunity for change that was not possible before our crisis. If that works in our favour then I am all for it. SFL1 for me. I think we will start to see more pragmatic thinking over the next few days from chairmen and journalists. If not the whole game is screwed.

Rioch gives us something we haven't had for a wee while - hope.

What a great statement, pity some of the others hadn't taken time to think about what they were going to say. I really hope he stays.

Maybe it is time for out with the old and in with the new. I could identify a number of people on this forum that I think would do a damn good job.

I know nothing about the politics or leaders of all of these groups so can consider myself as an outsider looking in. It would seem to be against the interests of the club and supporters to have all of these different groups which are not working effectively. We need one official group, with sub committees that report to the group and spokesmen that represent the views of the majority of the supporters. This is something that really needs to be sorted out. If the current groups cannot work together then a completely new official Rangers Supporters Group should be established by the club with elected office bearers. The fringe groups should be identified as such and not representative of the views of the supporters.
Now I will get my tin hat on and into my trench.

What if some of those "lifelong Rangers fans" are just sitting tight in the hope that the club finds it's way into the hands of those who have it in their hearts?
Did cross my mind in the beginning too but I think that was hopeless optimism. When I read what they had said I felt betrayed and saddened that they were letting the club and supporters down. Now I have had time to think aout it, they are the same as many, many fans and many on these forums who have fallen for myths being perpetrated by the press and the representatives of other clubs and, as far as I am aware have not been counteracted by anyone at the club, that we have been declared guilty for the EBT's and cheating. It reminds me of the public's perception when the war in Iraq happened and people were justifying it because of the twin towers and Osama Bin Laden. This makes our crimes appear to justify sterner punishment. I agree the liquidation changes the severity of the situation and it would be unfair to remain in the SPL but to constantly question our integrity is grossly unfair. I still think the players jumped ship too soon and they have let us down. Hope that doesn't sound too contradictory.

I wish everyone would stop using the phrase "sporting integrity". Iam getting really sick of hearing it. It is becoming really hackneyed. I wish this was all over.

Shame they couldn't make the same fuss about the fact that Regan knew.

If things were going to change the daily Record would have headlined that Regan knew.

Have just listened to this. This must be taken forward by the club and reported everywhere in the media.

I cannot take any more rumours. I am only dealing in facts from now on.

Agreed and in writing.

You're not following things it's the SPL they want to strip our titles from us, nothing whatsoever to do with HMRC.
I was being facetious cos I feel something approaching happiness tonight. I started a post earlier then deleted it cos it was a negative and there has been enough negativity from me lately. I nor anyone else knows what they will do about that but I am certainly worried about it. My earlier post was to say "are they putting us in the first division to leave them leeway to relegate us over EBTs?"

The mhanky campaign for this too happen has being going on for months and has nowhere near peaked yet, why do you think the SPL employed Celtic's lawyers to investigate the EBT?dual contract claims?
Should be pursued through the courts. HMRC made clear they were going after the guilty parties and that Rangers had a freash start.

Summary, Rangers have to go somewhere, we need them back in the SPL next year, if you don't vote for it we will make a new league to put them in. Translated as, we've underestimated the amount of hatred in this country, we've been too heavy handed and we cannae dae without their money. Suits me.

I am very happy with what he has said. It is just a shame it took a fans protest to improve communication. I did not know what to do yesterday but I am more reassured today that we should support the present regime and support the funding of the club.

Bears on twitter that are reliable indicating that our titles could be stripped
Don't see any mention of that. Scaremongering. I have had a belly full of all of this.

Thing is, I can see why some Div 1 clubs would be pisse off at us coming in although the introduction of playoffs and the fact we're rebuilding from scratch might soften the blow a bit.
I'd still rather see us entering Div 3 and to be honest, I can't see any clubs there objecting as it would mean an injection of cash for all those teams which could set some of them up for years to come.
I cannot agree with you. If it is in our interests I am all for it, so long as it is seen as in everyone's interests and not designed to show favouritism.

But that report specifically states that we will only be allowed to join the SFA - not SPL or SFL, but the SFA - if we give up a right we're entitled to under both the Universal Declaration on Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights.
It may seem ridiculous to bring those agreements into this context, but they were hard won with buckets of blood - you might say humanity was up to its knees in tyrants' blood - and to insist on the abrogation of those rights in order to allow membership of a club is just not on. In short, they are not allowed by law to insist on this aspect of the deal. Now, Rangers might say it's a price worth paying. But it makes me very nervous indeed.
This would obviously need to be clarified but I expect it means to drop the legal challenge and the transfer embargo will disappear. It would be preposterous under the circumstances and events have overtaken it.

why is Ally not saying anything?

alex thomson @alextomo
My source: "Definite asset sale. Very confident. Sevco Scot bt Ibrox for £500k and have a deal agreed in principle to sell for about £8m"
alex thomson @alextomo
@StevenOliver74 I'm told it's Ibrox, carpark and M Park.

@marker020 I do believe Mr Green has real financing issues which are becoming pressing.
Supposedly to Ontario teachers pension portfolio. OMG please don't make this true. He is also saying this is unconfirmed.

Maybe someone qualified in company law can explain in layman's terms what is going on. I am becoming more and more irrational and disrtustful with every passing day.

I'm satisfied with that statement TBH.
I am not. This proves nothing other than Green said it. Why have the assets gone to a separate company from the football club? Explanation please, Mr Green. I think we are entitled to that.
