Allan, once again you surprise me with your selective reading skills. A couple of fellas have said that they were against the referendum, even though the Scottish public voted in a party who promised such a vote. Them being against a referendum that the Scottish public wants to happen is, IMO, against democracy n

I was going to go with Bunion Bears but thought that was taking the abuse toe far.

Going against the referendum? Go out and campaign then. Don't attach their disdain for democracy to a football club at a football match when the team is drawing 0-0 with amateurs. "Billy, Rangers are struggling to beat this mob, what can we do to gee the team up?" "Ah know - lets sing "ye cin shove yer referendum up yer arse""

That might be the case, but he doesn't know me either and says that my holding an opinion on a particular set of fans singing pishy songs "says a lot" about me. I'll question his judgement especially when his judgement on this matter and of my character seems so ill judged.

What does it say then? That I have an opinion? I get the impression that the UB could sing FTIRA songs whilst slitting the throats of hundreds of cute kittens and you'd still defend them. Their democratic right? I think you're getting muddled up here. The sporting arena shouldn't IMO be used to express political views, that's what the ballot box is for. And if you feel so strongly about something then go and make a difference and campaign for your beliefs instead of hiding at a football game.

So now we're supporting supporters now? Who supports the supporting supporters? If you're so outraged about a democratic vote being held then go to Holyrood and voice your disdain, or why not just move to North Korea?

Go to Holyrood and sing it then.
  11. He should be allowed to wear what he wants. I am one for saying Ally is trying to copy Walter too much, hopefully this goes some way to Ally being his own man.

Sorry mate, just disagree. I just don't buy into this "culture" stuff, especially to use it as an excuse to sing songs about the IRA and UVF. Some fans on here and on other Rangers forums moan quite often about how Celtic "get away" with singing songs about terrorist organisations yet here we are, at a game vs QP, with our £6m wage team, drawing 0-0 in the 2nd half against amateurs, and BF1 break into songs about the IRA and Salmond? What's especially annoying is that they do have some good wee football related tunes these days. Apologies for any shite I typed last night, I was well oiled.

Shite attitude, shit outlook, pish philosophy. Pigeon hole the club, polarise the support, watch it die. Look at the truly big clubs and how their support behaves. Bed time.
  14. My Granda was on the telly at a game in 1989? Rangers v Aberdeen, last game of the season, we got beat 3-0 and he was on the telly as the league trophy was being lifted. I've searched YouTube but couldn't find the highlights of the trophy lifting. I'm sure it was on Scotsport. Any help appreciated.

Over the past 20odd years I've paid mega-money supporting the club and if a bunch of über fans sing things that I don't agree with then I'll voice my concern. All I've said is keep the Irish pish and political pish away from the game.

No. Read all my posts again. This week was particularly "off topic" in regards to the songs.

So by your reckoning, it doesn't matter what they sing as long as it "creates an atmosphere"? Create an atmosphere all they want, keep the politics and Irish shite away from Ibrox.

On phone so can't see what you've posted. No doubt it's hilarious though…

If you weren't at the game then you can only comment on what I've already typed. I've only missed one Home game this season but today's song sheet was particularly shit. Normally they (UB & TBO) are not too bad but today it was pretty crap. Say what you want about the Groin Brigade but I bet they don't sing about the IRA as much as the UB do (at Darkhead at least)

By singing about the IRA and how much they hate Salmond?

Supporting the team? I'm sure when the score was nil-nil, singing "shove your referendum up your arse" gave the team the lift that they needed?! Or not.
  23. Didn't see them myself. Govan looked packed, can't see the full Broomloan from my vantage point.

    Union Bears

They do in general. Keep the politics and Irish shite out of it though. Problems solved.
  25. What do you mean? Seemed like a full house to me. Maybe 1or2 empty seats but such is life.
