  1. I don't know where the 20-20 info comes from, but I don't see how it would be possible to do it with 42 teams. :D

I'm a huge fan of the idea of moving to a simple structure of two bigger leagues, but it would need to be either 18-24 or 20-22.

FWIW, I wouldn't be against us being reintroduced to the top flight sooner than expected because I don't think we should have had to start at the bottom anyway. The lowest level we should have been playing at this season is the 1st Division.

hearts and dunfermline both closing down in the summer.

  2. ok, i'll grant you that it was the same refrain, but it was being sung at a different time. The wealth and power of European football is now so concentrated in England and Spain, and to a lesser extent Germany and Italy that countries like Holland, Portugal ourselves and Belgium, who used to be able to put up a decent showing are now marginalised to such an extent that we are an irrelevance. I can easily see that the top clubs in those leagues and a couple from Scandanavia and central Europe would be much more interested in getting together today than they would have been 10 years ago.

not sure i would say a lesser extent germany. they are a huge super power with a better ecoomy than spain and probably a better and stronger league and higher attendances than just about everyone. look how poor barcelona are this year and yet they are so far in front of the rest. i just dont ever see change coming.

  3. Can't agree kuz - it may not be imminent but getting out of Scotland isn't moonbeams imho. There are a number of clubs in a similar position to ours ( i.e small countries with one or two big clubs) who face similar problems. A direct move to England may not be likely, but some other set up may very well be on the cards.

we have been hearing the same nonsense since the early 90's. its not going to happen imo.

  4. I'm not saying that I won't enjoy it, of course I will. It's just not that big a deal that the team with the £7m wage bill wins a part time league.

exactly, i do hope our fans keep their dignity and dont embarass themselves by celebrating it like an spl title win. we should take a leaf out of roy keanes book when at sunderland and refuse to celebrate promotion, show class and prepare ourselves for the next chapter of our return. this league was won before a ball was kicked, winning it is no achievement whatsoever.

  5. I’m no Einstein, but 54 top tier titles plus 1 x 4th tier title = 55 titles, in any country’s league structure. Seemingly, according to UEFA, only top tier titles are recognized. I’ve also been informed, by Celtic fans, of course, that Man U fans don’t count their club’s 2nd tier titles when mocking rival fans. So what! We are Rangers, not Man U. Anyway, let’s simplify this and make it work to our advantage – combine our EUFA WR 54 top tier titles to our soon to be 4th tier title, and initiate a new overall WR 55 titles. This again will probably upset a few non-Gers fans, especially if we keep adding lower league titles to our static EUFA WR 54, during our journey to the top. Celtic may be closing in on our EUFA WR 54, but will not be any closer, numerically, to our soon to be new proud overall WR 55 and counting.

not according to the club itself. it will be 54 until we win the spl again, if we win the spl again.

  6. it's nothing to do with prostituting ourselves, like they do, by kidding on they're everybody's best pals - it's simply about not acting like a shower of knuckle-dragging, offensive, brain-dead cnuts.

Sectarian fuckwittery was previously just an embarrassment, but now it threatens the development and future of the club - and any Rangers *fan* who pushes their own agenda at the expense of damaging the club, is nothing more than a traitor, imho.

If we're serious about getting out of Scotland - and I hope we are - we have to get accepted by everyone everywhere.

getting out of scotland is more moonbeams to deflect from any reality. i do agree though any form of sectarianism or non footballing related singing has to be stopped.

  7. So the solution or the opposite is for 'love me, love me' is obviously 'dislike me, hate me'?

And if people don't like us then we won't have any fans, so in essence you want to starve the club of new fans by making us undesirable to support through singing stupid songs that have nothing to do with football.

    Great idea!

its not about people not liking our club, its our managers desperation for the world to love him.

  8. Only football, so no Penny Arcade then.

I see we're back to the oh love us please please just love us like you love that club Celtic, bloody sickening.

nope, no penny arcade. it has no relevance to us. i do agree with the second bit though. this desperation to please everyone and have everyone love him from our manager is cringeworthy.

  9. If Charles want's to write a book and set his family up for life, then I don't have a problem with that.

As far as I'm concerned the guy deserves everything he earns - if he drops us like a hot potato in a couple of years time I'll maybe change my opinion.

Btw, I took my two grandchildren (4 & 7) to Ibrox Stadium on Friday afternoon to pass the day (they are thoroughbred Celtic fans with season tickets) they enjoyed the afternoon as I took pics of them at various parts of the Stadium and in the shop (a stunt to wind up the in-laws :D) I happened to meet Mr Green coming out of the Govan Stand end and he was a perfect obliging gentleman as he posed with my two for pics - meeting him like that was an honour.

Nice bonus pics for the in-laws too it must be said. :D2

how did your grand weans become tims mate? i could never allow that.

  10. My point is that I think CG knows SKY & prospective sponsors won't touch Scottish football with a bargepole without Rangers in top division. I genuinely believe reconstruction will be determined by SKY & others & we'll be in top division next season . That's what CG could be insinuating.

that di stefano nut has also said this tonight. spl1 and spl2 no lower divisions and rangers straight back into top division!

  11. i would read a bain book.

sir david told me to do this then sir david asked me to do that, sir david then told me to do this and when i done that for him sir david told me to do that as well. for me sir david is the greatest ever ranger. he regularly commented on how good my cooking was and when he offered me the ceo position after i fed him so well i couldnt knock it back. from a catalogue model to a chef to ceo of scotlands second biggest club, it was a joy to work for sir david. i cant thank him enough. yes we ruined rangers twice but i managed to get out just in time. sir david deserves all the credit in the world.

    would you really read that?

  12. If it's a life story he should at least make some. Depends on the structure I suppose.

dont kid yourself mate, his life was boring until he came north, he had basically done nothing. this stunt is aimed at rangers fans. he knows money can be made out of his time here as we are such a passionate set of fans. we are going to set this man and his family up for life and he knows it!

martin bain was ceo for about 8 years and he didnt write a book. he had champs league, downsizing, ebts, winning spl titles, winning trophies, uefa cup finals, everything. green has had 5 minutes and a few nice pr releases.

  13. Don't understand point6 unless we get into top division. Is this likely to happen sooner than we think ? The scottish football governing bodies need us there otherwise SKY & other sponsors will walk away. Perhaps CG knows something he's not revealing

winning the scottish cup will see us in the uefa cup. stop laughing at the back there! :D
