  1. There's professional footballers who almost earn that in a week. It is a pittance.
  2. It is embarrassing yes. For a fighting fund aimed to save the club, it wasn't even worth bothering. Fair play on managing to spell 'abomination' correctly, you're obviously getting a little better with words.
  3. And you think the Barca model would work here? You think we have enough people willing to invest? We started a fighting fund for survival and it got an embarrassing amount of investment. The approach to football on the continent is light years ahead of the UK and we aren't really in a place to just try and replicate their ideas.
  4. One would hope that these new beginnings could spawn a new approach with the correct infrastructure a club like ours should have. You know, a vast scouting network, a developed ideology for developing youth and a general approach to play football in the correct way. But, I have seen this all before and I don't see it happening. One thing is for sure, Ally McCoist can have absolutely no excuses for playing the same turgid, mind numbing football in the lower divisions. Even if we get a squad together easily capable of winning Div 1, I can honestly see us being regularly out played for large spells of games. I would like to go back to seeing Rangers play in the fashion they did during my youth, ie with skill and grace. The football we have played for basically 10 years has been absolutely dire and while it may get short term victories, it does nobody any good in the long run. I will happily attend games in the lower divisions but I shall not undertake a 300 mile all round trip to see us outplayed at home playing aimless long balls hoofed up the park. Let's build from scratch, starting with a positive approach to football that entertains the supporters. Any excitement from recent seasons has come from individual skill (and aside from Aluko there's not been much there either) as opposed to the mentality adopted by the manager.
  5. Leggat is a bit like John Brown. A no mark that should be ignored.
  6. We haven't had a side worth talking about since 2002/03. Neither have they and the poor quality of the old firm in general has meant that neither side had to worry too much about their quality. They just had to be a point better than the other. But this is the last of our worries now.
  7. I have never been keen on fan ownership. I don't really think fans should have much involvement in the running of a football club. But it's the best option now because no money men are interested in saving us.
  8. I'm not sure what Walter could have done in this instance. The blame lies with the 'Rangers men' who had the collateral to do something.
  9. There is nobody credible interested in buying us. This is quite clear. Had any of our rich supporters any real interest in investing or saving us, all this would not be happening. A respectable CVA would have made no dent to the likes of Jim McColl's bank balance and we would not be contemplating playing division 3 football next season, potentially burying our club in the process for many years. The only thing we really have left now is our stadium and supporters.
  10. Then again, you like David Murray so you should just put the laptop away and go back to staring into space.
  11. Can't believe people are still talking about this. A mediocre player that can barely string two words together who brought a tarrier to the table
  12. We have been lacking midfield quality for years, not bite. Technique has been the thing missing from our players.
  13. There was only ever going to be one winner tonight.
  14. Even if he takes a cut, he will most likely still be on much better wages than he would get at another Scottish club like Motherwell, which is the sort of level where he would have ended up.
  15. That's an interesting point actually. I remember him saying relatively recently (prior to administration), that we needed to spend something like £20m on the squad. Quite a frightening remark.
  16. He's a bit to keen in us for my liking. He'd have been the perfect follow up to Murray and Shyte.
  17. Big Lee wouldn't have had much other offers to be fair, certainly not good ones.
  18. John Brown is a fucking idiot as are all the morons listening to anything he has to say...
  19. Whilst many sharks circulate our waters, transferring to us would have readily facilitated a future transfer with no risk to them other than personal financial lost.
  20. The problem with Craig Shyte is that we were previously run by an equally ridiculous cunt and we can't really just blame all our ills on both these people. If it was one person yes, but when it's 2 people it becomes the club .
  21. Someone could do whatever they want to this club and aside from a Dingwall moronic rally, nobody would really do anything. This wouldn't happen in other countries. I remember watching a quality documentary on the Lazio Ultras, the Irriducibili, and they are actively involved in the running of the club and basically hound the club when things are not going the correct way. That sort of thing just doesn't happen here. When things were going bad for Lazio, the Irriducibili took to the streets and training ground chanting about the 'mercenaries' and let's just say the club had to act on it and shape up their act.
