  1. I wouldn't be hugely keen on it, Newcastle have a shite squad outwith their XI
  2. Aye, that's what makes this signing look very impressive. Folk in England will have heard about this decent Scottish player who scored against Liverpool and here he looks to be signing for us in the 3rd division. Makes us look somewhat impressive again to on lookers. I just hope he signs, most excited I've been in ages
  3. yeah obviously you can do what you want but would you even get official names?
  4. Given the circumstances, Templeton would be our most impressive signing in years. I was immediately thinking I'd get our top with his name at the back, damn the SFL and their lack of names....
  5. RDM has spent £73m on assembling the greatest collection of number 10's ever seen. Unfortunately he has totally neglected the most important area of the park, the central midfield area. And Torres has absolutely no backup whatsoever and will need to stay fit for possibly 50+ games this season. Spending £9m on VICTOR MOSES (????????) when Mata, Hazard, Marin, Oscar and Ramires were already at the club is bizarre. It's no wonder we're being gubbed tonight with Mikel and Lampard in the middle of the park. Lampard is barely half the player he was and Mikel is mediocre at best. This isn't the first time a well organised Spanish side has destroyed inferior English opposition. I foresaw all this happening http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?45023-Chelsea-to-sign-Eden-Hazard-s-superior-younger-brother&highlight= RDM's European success last season was reminiscent of our incredibly fluky run under Walter in 07/08. Playing 4-2-3-1 with 4 very attacking players will result in gubbings in Europe unless there is two strong CMs
  6. We will probably sign someone crap on loan. Like every other deadline day. When was the last time we did anything impressive on deadline day? I will forever remember the day we signed Ostenstad and I felt sick to the core. I already knew McLeish was a horrific manager and judge of talent but this suggested a lack of mental capability. Anyone with a basic knowledge of football knew he was dire.
  7. A side that conceded 29 in 38 games with a flat back 4 has looked absolutely atrocious at the back playing a back 3. 3 at the back ruined Barca's flow last season too. They weren't the same and when they switched back to their usual formation they lacked the same organisation and strength. There is a reason why very few teams play 3 at the back - it's an atrocious tactic on the whole and is only used successfully by very few teams. Generally it's only used by managers out of ideas (McLeish, McCoist...) or managers trying to be radical (Guardiola, Mancini...) Here's hoping Ally sticks to 4 at the back. He has a big enough struggle with management without using a formation destined to fail.
  8. The Scottish national team probably put up more of a fight in their competitions and that's saying something
  9. I knew before I even looked at Man Utd's group that it would be a caker. I honestly don't know how they do it. The year before last they basically go to the final before they got any credible opposition and it embellishes what is a very poor team by their standards. Can see Man City being found out yet again too. Particularly given that Mancini has ruined their defence by playing 3 at the back (remind you of anyone)
  10. Dalglish did a fair job on a team already struggling. Downing, Henderson, Adam, Carroll. Fail, fail, fail, fail.
  11. Any flair is a good thing. Forces some sort of football to be played.
  12. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/iniesta-edges-messi-ronaldo-uefa-award-172103276.html Ironic that he finally wins this in what was his worst season with Barca by a mile. I watched nearly all their games last season on Sky and he was a bit part player largely wide left who often just didn't contribute much in games and had an injury plagued season. He only played 27 matches in La Liga in total, not sure how many starts. Fair enough he had a decent Euro tournament, but Messi scored 73 goals for Barca and got 29 assists. Iniesta wasn't in the top 20 players at club level in the season that just past. Any other season I wouldn't have argued against him winning this. Mind you, apart from Messi a lot of the Barca team looked out of sorts. Personally I blame their experimentation with 3-4-3 which just disrupted their flow
  13. To be taken with a massive pinch of salt but here's hoping.
  14. Don't remember him playing midfield but maybe before my time. He was like Flippo Inzaghi, of little use outside the box but a predator inside it.
  15. When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea
  16. McCoist's general game was widely accepted as being poor though. Much like his teams.
  17. We were playing today the way he wants though. Do you think for the past year he has been telling the players in training to focus on intelligent passing and movement only to see them each week resort to playing the long ball? Bocanegra is the captain of the USA and an experienced former Premiership player, do you think he honestly wants to constantly hammer the ball into the opponents box?
  18. Took Preston to the playoffs, got Derby promoted, Nottingham Forest to the playoffs...in short a lot more than Ally. As Kuznetsov says though, it's beyond getting a hugely successful manager in. What we badly need is someone who can just get the team playing football again.
  19. There has to be some sort of future beyond what we are seeing. Seeing Welsh side Swansea in their Real Madrid style shirts managed by Michael Laudrup march to the top of the Premiership albeit temporarily must show some sort of possibilities. Off topic - if Swansea can achieve near 90% pass completion rate in the EPL with their tiny resources surely we can achieve such a state in the third division. Unfortunately, it's more likely to find our opposition out passing us. Our manage is just atrocious at the end of the day
  20. Why don't we also post Phil three name's rantings? They are just as irrelevant and probably significantly more intelligent.
