We will never know how great he would have been but Bobby Charlton said he was the best he’d ever played with or seen Duncan Edwards

Immaculate turnout, as you would expect, apart from the finger ring and the non-standard issue wristwatch.

I won’t argue with Charlton. Eddie Colman was the other half back. Perfect combination.

  2. No fullback was better than Eric Caldow. Davie Provan filled the breach after Caldow’s dreadful injury. DP would never have claimed to be the footballer Caldow was but like Willie Rae and John Little before him never shirked, never gave up, aye ready.

  3. I saw a photo of a new design. Can’t remember where. It was awful.

I don’t see a difficulty. Royal blue shirt, white collar. No whorls, no stripes, no checks, no dots, no dashes, no motifs whatsoever. No problem.

Thought this would be the unanimous award this time, Butland was the star man by a country mile, with only Diamande of the outfield players looking not scared of the weight of the occasion.

    That’s well put.

  5. Geordie Young had retired, his replacement from Buckie Thistle via Queens Park, John Valentine wasn’t up to the task, Rangers suffered a heavy cup defeat and Willie Moles hadn’t the experience to plug the gap so off to Love Street for this man. He sorted things out. Willie Telfer.

Edit: Just noticed something wrong with the socks.
