  1. The sentiment is hard to disagree with but why at the football?
  2. Four in the green pokey would have been more convincing.
  3. So, I was wrong. I’ll be right next week, though. I sense @Rousseau reaching for the ban button. Ju-ju interference is verging on sine die.
  4. It should be, alex but look at the lineup. No Goughs, no Browns, no Fergusons.
  5. That was the trigger. It could have happened to a Walter team but a Walter team would have hardened their resolve and never in a million years have lost to Ross County.
  6. Tomorrow will see the end of it.
  7. Heats have already done their bit in taking points away from celtic this season. They’ve done better against them than Rangers. Too much to hope for that they win again.
  8. No fullback was better than Eric Caldow. Davie Provan filled the breach after Caldow’s dreadful injury. DP would never have claimed to be the footballer Caldow was but like Willie Rae and John Little before him never shirked, never gave up, aye ready.

    New kit

I saw a photo of a new design. Can’t remember where. It was awful. I don’t see a difficulty. Royal blue shirt, white collar. No whorls, no stripes, no checks, no dots, no dashes, no motifs whatsoever. No problem.
  10. He’ll score for fun up here. (If five years younger and with enough chance creators around him)
  11. The Hotspur down at halftime 0-3.
  12. Harry Haddock Park? Never mind Valentine. Willie T put it right.
  13. Geordie Young had retired, his replacement from Buckie Thistle via Queens Park, John Valentine wasn’t up to the task, Rangers suffered a heavy cup defeat and Willie Moles hadn’t the experience to plug the gap so off to Love Street for this man. He sorted things out. Willie Telfer. Edit: Just noticed something wrong with the socks.
  14. If you’ve got a car to sell you don’t tell the market it’s near to clapped out. “It’s so good I don’t really want to sell it” is the line to take.
  15. Would rather watch the East of Scotland Swimming Championships at Forfar Baths than either celtic or Scotland. In very olden times the telly was bbc1, bbc2 and ITV. bbc Scotland did sort of exist as an occasional opt-out from 1. Of course it wasn’t the viewer who did the opting. One Saturday afternoon Grandstand was covering a thrilling Lord’s Test Match, England v West Indies but suddenly the picture faded to be replaced briefly by a snowstorm then by a fellow from the Glasgow studio announcing that lucky Scottish viewers were being taken to the above mentioned venue to watch the above mentioned event. So instead of Hall and Griffiths in their prime we got the spectacle of folk splashing up and doon the watter. I wasn’t best pleased then but now offered celtic or Scotland at the football or the Forfar aquatics, the watery event might be a relief
  16. He didn’t need specialist Yank trainers. His wife had him under the cosh.
  17. The Everton-Scottish: Tommy Ring, Clyde, Alex Parker, Falkirk, George Thomson, Hearts, Alec Young, Hearts, Alex Scott, Rangers, Ian Durrant, Rangers, Stephen Naismith, Rangers and from older times Jimmy Caskie and Torry Gillick plus Walter and Archie. Any others? Coming the other way, Stuart McCall, Trevor Steven and Gary Stevens. What a trio. We won’t see their likes again. Nikica Jelavic wasn’t really Scottish, only a bit.
  18. I see he kept his Blackpool socks.
  19. Faute de mieux, but yes, the ‘keeper should do more, much more. Anticipate, intercept, manage the penalty area and above all, get the angles right. Comes to naught, though, if he lets a trundler through his legs.
  20. Not a penalty under the old laws. Disregarding the letter of the law, ancient or modern, it just wasn’t a handball.
