Gonzo’s not saying that. I think he means Remembrance is solemn, not theatrical.

Somebody’s got to keep the Watch in the night, Compo. Just be thankful it’s neither you nor I.

YSaturday matches are dull again. A flicker of interest in ‘Spurs away to Palace. Different story on Sunday. Arsenal v Wolves, a championship decider yesteryear, and City v United. Have United got back enough of their luck to overcome Silva? I hope not. Blades v Owls tonight should be good.

Let me be charitable to the FM. She didn’t see the footage herself and is acting on her office briefing. Still absolutely scandalous.

You missed out Elgin City v inverness caley. Actually, not really. The caley were never able to live up to it. -

The celtic statement is flannel and half literate. If that’s their PR guys, I’d sack them. -
It’s a nonsensical idea. What happens? Does the ‘keeper get to pick the ball up unmolested? Is it a goal kick or a free kick. Is it a corner if the ‘keeper palms it round the post? Football is supposed to be a continuous game. There’s too much time wasting already. I quite like the goalmouth stramash that follows a partly saved penalty.

Well observed, 26th. Mention of Kilmarnock and Dolly caused a peculiar memory to erupt to the front of my brain. I think that at one time long ago, many decades, Kilmarnock had a sheep for a mascot. Anyone with great grannies in Ayrshire to confirm? When Rugby Park was in grass the surface was lauded as the best in Scottish football. The sheep’s legacy perhaps. The ovine may have been good at manuring and trimming but mascot-wise his ghost wasn’t up to much on Sunday. Gordon’s league position calculation method raises an interesting proposition. Who would have been top if Hearts and celtic had lost more games and Rangers had lost fewer?

R4 News told the truth. Kicked out by celtic but taken back to re-offend. Disquiet about how this was allowed to happen. -

How well I remember that cup final. I was baby watching two miles from Hampden as a result of a rash promise to let my sister and brother in law go to a wedding. In those days radio commentary was the last twenty minutes only. Did Kelly not concede the riot semi-final? I only saw news footage but it was about the worst I’d ever seen inside a park. This weekend I’d like to see some driving forward replacing a bit of the sideways possession. -
Outstanding fixtures this weekend Arsenalv Liverpool and Wolves v the Hotspurs. 2-0 Arsenal, 1-3 ‘Spurs. Rest of the card is drab yet again. And while I’m at it, Springboks to trample the Rose at Twickers.

McGrory and Stein didn’t behave like Lennon. McNeil didn’t. Burns didn’t. O’Leary didn’t. Rogers doesn’t. The man unique.

Quite like the look of that lineup. As for Don Revie I remember the furore surrounding the deep lying centre forward tactic. The trouble was only Don Revie could play the position.

True. A legal triumph over the bbc isn’t going to change staff attitudes.

No. It’s more complcated than that. Can a single “beneficiary” (ahem) a under a contract made on its behalf and on behalf of others by an agent enforce a condition of the contract where the agent fails to do so? You’d need a squint at the contract before you could speculate and a bag of money. That’s why you’re right about Club 1872.
