  1. Many years since I watched Sportscene but I put it on to get the Scotland rugby result on Saturday evenng. While waiting I heard the child presenter say something about Scotland's greatest footballer against a back shot of Kenny Dalglish. I have no idea what the context was. The thought that flitted through my brain was Baxter but on reflection KD's a fair shout. Glittering career iin England which Baxter did not have. Against that, Baxter was post injury in England and his teams were not the rock solid platform that Liverpool were when Dalglish was there.. On further reflection my nomination is Gordon Smith of the Hibs. Most won't have seen this man. Think Laudrup with added elegance.
  2. What about the Westminster csc? I expect its membership was substantial in Labour times, perhaps a bit less now.
  3. My blood is blue, apparently.
  4. But only occasionally. Even genius needs back-up.
  5. Durrant was a player. Aberdeen tried to clog him a few times in that game.
  6. Can't think of anyone more recently but I saw Bobby Shearer do it memorably in Gorgieland for 75 minutes. 1 - 3 for the light and speedy blues.
  7. We don't care what the celtic say, so what the hell,do we care?
  8. Leicester have been on a pretty good run already. City - I think they've lost it. Pellegrini doesn't seem to know how to sign defenders. Arsenal - plenty of magic but have they got the steel? 'Spurs - less magic but more steel than the gunners and magic alone is not enough. Leicester - hard to fault them So, given my analytical and predictive skills, that's City for the league and Leicester dropping out of the top four.
  9. Leicester don't have domestic or Euro cup ties to distract them.
  10. Being gutted! Arsenal are one of my favoured clubs.
  11. Usually agree with you, Rousseau, but not today. Have to admit that Leicester play football that is effective and pleasing to watch. Reminiscent of Ipswich Town in the early seventies.
  12. Just for the sake of accuracy, ownership of the name and marks was never lost.
  13. Morton. Meiklejohn. McPhail. I never saw them. But they are legends because their names are known long after their playing days by the fans of other teams as well as by Rangers supporters. Geordie Young's a legend. So are Greig and Baxter. Laudrup and Gazza will be. But good servant Miller? I doubt it.
  14. McCann's a tim, Laudrup never tried a leg his last season, Albertz ... erm ... erm ... ach, I'll think of something. See what I mean, dB? I despair at times
  15. Time to close this one. Neither side will prevail over the other and it's clear where the majority is.
