  1. Played some pretty decent football last year certainly enough to have won the SPL handsomely. Footall League Division 1 Champions 1959/60 - hard to believe they were once a top side along with Bolton, PNE and Blackburn. These would have been what mustafa the fake Turk on a timboard called hell derbies.
  2. Admin - could you introduce a "Rubbish" button?
  3. Supporters will be there tomorrow. Fans will be waiting for a Gazzalaudo signing. See you in about five years, lads, if you're lucky. There is of course nothing wrong with being selective about the product you pay to watch. That's the individual's choice. But that individual is not a supporter.
  4. Admin - could you introduce a button for "I agree with 5/8 of that"? I could use it a lot with SBS. He was doing fine above until he said So'ton weren't a good side.
  5. Loan players might catch a dose of Rangersitis once they've been here for a while.
  6. I hope Man City don't sign Sterling. Hugely overrated.
  7. I can't remember any player except Danny Blanchflower or manager except Brian Clough, Joe Mercer and Bill Shankly say anything memorable or even interesting. Pre/post match interviews and analyses press conferences - turgid.
  8. Nowhere to go after the Supreme Court except mibbees the Privy Council on some unimagineably bizarre ground such as Lawwell impersonating one of the Judges.
  9. Ranking agreement. SS first, SD second, anything left over to Rangers.
  10. I think this is the Revenue's second last chance. Lose this and the Supreme Court is their only hope. Let's hope none of them's a pal of Heidi Hoop. The strange thing about ordinary litigation is that you can have up to nine judges on your side in three courts on the way to the Supreme and lose there 3 - 2. You've connvinced a total of eleven but the other three trump the rest.
  11. 'Mon the Astra. Sorry. Can't help myself. It's an old tribal thing.
  12. Arsenal - aristocrats. Chelsea - new money. OK. I'm a football snob.
  13. Ouch! That is the biggest put-down of all time apart from Sonny Liston's.
  14. Still a long road for Chelsea to creep. You're only four in front of the Villa.
  15. Self defence is just that - defending yourself from an attack. It doesn't mean running after the wee beggar that gave you a girly push kicking out with your booted foot and trying to land a haymaker of a hook to his head. Let's re-enact this with a change of costume. A defeated Ranger approaches a 'Well guy and offers a handshake. The arrogant victor turns away. Our hero, disapointed by the cad's lack of sportsmanship, gives him a wee push and moves to leave the scene. The 'Well guy turns, pursues and the kick and punch scenario takes place. Two or three of our fellows rush to the aid of our chap. Where do we all stand on this?
  16. I don't care where they're put so long as they leave their drum at home.
  17. Erwin's mates rush to join in - terrible, shocking. Our lads fail to rush to join in - terrible, shocking. What am I not understanding here?
  18. I was a lot less critical of Mosher as a player than most on here but what he did at the end of the game is indefensible and thank God no other Rangers player got involved. Pete, can you refer me to any medical journal with an article or case study of whiplash injury suffered by big fit blokes from a wee push in the back? Or worse still a broken neck? As for Erwin, his conduct was not in normal circumstances reprehensible but as the Youngs, Spences and Englishes of this world keep pontificating, players have to be aware of the situation and behave accordingly.
  19. I don't have too much difficulty with sports broadcasters being partisan i.e. In favour of their team of choice as opposed to campaigning against one particular club. Willie Miller, for example, could be nothing but pro-Aberdeen but he was reasonably objective most of the time. So, also, Murdo McLeod, surprisingly. Cosgrove, English and Sebo Zoo Gordon are the true culprits. To Be fair to Gordon he did get that notorious comment approved by his producer. I expect that's where the real mischief lies, within the production and editorial staff.
  20. Great stuff D'Art. Brilliant. I just had to see the name Harry Davis and I knew something was on. But Oleg above is right. Ice with the Macallan? Never. Water is permissable but better in a separate glass. A great dram the Macallan, though three or four are better. Treat it properly.
  21. “He was not a showy guy but he was very efficient and intelligent. He is a very good administrator of quality and substance." That will do just fine. These are the guys who are over the wall (or round it or under it) and securing the citadel while the trumpetting swaggerers are still outside bawling and yelling to no purpose.
