dB - I respect your knowledge, experience and commitment to Rangers but for once you are utterly wrong. I know a bit about Peterhead, a worthy small town club just like my own first team (a bit better, if I'm honest) but any side purporting to be the Rangers should have slaughtered them yesterday, today or tomorrow. That first day performance set the standard for the following seasons. The way the Jambolians have been about their business is the way Rangers should have done it. Competence with an occasional bit of style is what I expected. The football management failed completely.

I don't think Stein/Millar is a true comparison. They were different types of cf. Either would do fine for me.

It's in the Judge's discretion. A half decent beak would say ok, here's your order but you can whistle for your costs. The best advice for MD is to say I'll withdraw my request and you withdraw your Court application and cheerio.

Costs are incidental to the order sought. MD would only be liable in the event of him unsuccessfully opposing the application.

AS, JMcK and rpb have presented coherent arguements from opposite sides and I can be persuaded by either. But itcomes downto this: CG is entitled to his point of view; he is entitled to express his point of view; he is entitled to express it in the way that he did but having elected to do so in that way his suitability for office in a great institution is brought into question. Specifically, I don't think a Director of a company with a high public profile should conduct himself as CG did. A suitable apology, ie an explanation rather than an expression of sorrow, will suffice and an undertaking not to repeat. The question for the BBC hack is not what he knew but when did he know it? The timing reeks of suspicion.
