  1. An easy ofer to make. Some benefactor has already made up the loss.
  2. The reason they are angry is nothing to do with tax. It's the Titles deficit that won't let them sleep at night. That and the senchurries o' oppreshun an' the Normans an' Cromwell an' that.
  3. "rogue tarrier" - are there any non-rogue ********? I don't think Montrose has many green yins. The author is most likely a sheep.
  4. Johnny Hubbard - one of the legion of star 'Gers wingers post-war. Waddell, Scott, Wilson, Henderson, Johnston, McLean, Cooper even wee McCann and Huistra. Another team in the city had wee jinky and .. em .. er .. big hughes? .. mibbees lennox .. oh, and the half season wonder tully.
  5. City tickets for the postponed match sold out in two hours last night to fans queueing in frost and snow. Lets hope nobody's busy with a home printer outfit.
  6. Do you think he failed his degree course at Caley University? As if Yank radio could care less.
  7. "We don't care if they win or lose or draw." - The original refrain of a popular east end song and I don't care either though perhaps not entirely true as I prefer that they lose every game they play. But that is the extent of my interest in them. I don't go to their websites or blogs. I don't watch them on the telly. I don't read about them in the papers. They play no part in my life unless Rangers or Elgin City play against them. They have no purpose as far as I am concerned. Contrast that with their numerous adherents in the professional and amateur media and the plaintive bleaters who hog the 'phonelines. Last Saturday's Radio Scotland programme to replace Traynor's 'phone-in featured that gent's move to Rangers and discussion about whether our history is 140 years or not. I had switched off before the last item came on so it may not have happened but it was most certainly trailed with invitations to take part. Their collective mentality allows for no rest until Rangers cease to exist. The question is - what will they do then? I've come to the conclusion that "celtic-minded" truly means "Rangers-obsessed" though Fergus McCann got the sub-plot right.
  8. First we have PFA or whoever is behind them apparently acting for individuals without instruction which prompted a damage limitarion statement yesterday saying the Tribunal application was really on behalf of the Union. OK. I'll believe that. It's Christmas after all. Now we have a public statement that PFA will drop their case if Rangers drop theirs. Now this sort of bargaining goes on all the time in private but making it public smacks of abuse of process. What will PFA's "legal team" say to that?
  9. The Union may have a duty to act to the best advantage of its members but neither they nor anyone else can initiate proceedings on behalf of competent individuals without instruction.

Better the husky inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in.
  11. Wee Lunny will be locking into "game in disrepute" mode. I don't know if Lunny is actually wee. It just seems that he must be.
  12. Alfie Conn was boo-ed by some. Not me.
  13. I never thought "Tim" meant Catholic. I always knew the Tim Molloy origin and that celtic supporters at the time styled themselves as Timalloys even though not actually members of the hoodlum gang. It just so happens that most celtic fans are nominally RC but I would never call an RC with no allegiance to celtic. For example Archbishop Conti was never a Tim. The Cardinal guy whose name I've forgotten most certainly was.
  14. The "any name you like but nothing daft like Wonga" Arena at Ibrox would be acceptable if the bucks were sufficiently mega.
  15. Most City fans reckon we got off lightly but the mood is for lynching the Board. I wouldn't have worried too much about being trampled. I've been there in a 13,000 crowd for a Scottish Cup Tie against Arbroath. My auld faither was there in a 12,000 crowd for a cup final against Inverness Caley. Mind you, we can't get 80,000 into Ibrox any more.
  16. I was going to say "good riddance" but in reality, who cares? Nothing to do with Rangers.
  17. "The boy stood on the burning deck Whence all but he had fled."
  18. If I said I knew next to nothing about tax law i would be over-rating myself. But is an assessment not a debt due but suspended pending the outcome of an appeal? If D&P had put the Revenue down for £1 provisional they would have given a false figure as a potential surplus for creditors.
  19. BBC Scotland fervently hope so. We should all urge our MPs to take a stand against HMRC wasting more money.
  20. Rangers' current owners opted out of this farrago. Might have been better to have entered on a sneering, watching only basis so that fortified by yesterday's decision they could be jumping up and down and demanding an immediate hearing. Just because the celtic lawyer's not there is no reason to postpone. If you get done for careless driving and the PF's got the 'flu they don't put the case off for months. They wheel in another guy. Or are H-McL just a wee bochel firm that can't put up anyone else?
  21. Hullaw! Hullaw! We are Jim Traynor's boys!
  22. I've had a look, Max. Hard to tell who's there. There's hunners o' them.
