No. What’s the point?

That was a cracking Throstles team they were in.

Match Thread [FT] Rangers 1 (Tavernier 60' pen) - 2 Motherwell

How did Bair play? He looked very good against Ross County (most do) Can’t remember if he was in the team against Morton in the Gasman’s Cup. Might have been but didn’t do anything. -
From the highlights it looks like a lot of folk, Hearts and celtic didn’t bother to turn up. Even the wee Gorgie ultras were about half strength.

City put United back in their box, 3-1. I didn’t see it nor did I listen to the commentary but when I switched on R5 for the result, I was lucky enough to hear soccer super sage Dion Dublin say “Bernardo Silva was outstanding without doing anything special” The rest of them must have been rank rotten.

Imagine the other way round. In second place, Rangers score a barrowload midweek while celtic win narrowly, then celtic lose at home to diddies and Rangers have the chance to go top but blow it. I think we’ve had the better of the weekend. -
Aye but he’s not really very good. Just scores against diddies. In theory their defeat away to Hearts is not as bad as a home defeat to Motherwell but after seven midweek goals and a chance missed to go top the effect on morale makes it worse.

MM and one of the finest at headers despite being about half the size of Hateley or DJ. Scottish International selectors had the puzzle of choosing a number 9 from Willie Thornton, Lawrie Reilly or Willie Bauld. They sometimes solved it by picking Billy Houliston of Queen of the South, a sort of unsophisticated Lyndon Dykes.

The great all rounder. No, not Botham or Sobers. They never flew over Germany in a Mosquito. Keith Miller, Victoria, Australia and carousing pal of Denis Compton.

Nothing self indulgent about your posts. Sammy Baird had his doubters when he arrived from Preston North End but he scored a lot of important Inside forward goals and never lacked effort. Played left half for the Hibs when his time at Ibrox was over. Caldow and Wilson - what can you say? Caldow a world class player and Wilson my favourite Rangers winger (my username notwithstanding) There’s some field of runners for favourite winger title. Waddell, Scott, Henderson, Hubbard, Wilson, Cooper and Johnston and I’m still raging they let Eddie Rutherford go to Hearts.

That’s what the best managers do. -

There’s not a word in that article that I disagree with.

John Rutherford. This Rangers supporting stand off half would have been a brilliant footballer. Could sidestep like Ian McMillan.

Officer’s cane, surely. If he’s still here in three years with three championships and 80% of the other availables he might be eligible for a Field Marshall’s baton. -
A capital winger, Gordon Smith of the Hibs. If my old mother (rabid hibbee) had been looking for a toyboy it would have been Gordon Smith.

There’s a much broader athletic demographic in England and a less ferocious drinking culture. I’ve often thought that but it’s like a nuclear weapon. If you don’t have one and the other chap does, you lose.

Perhaps the core structures of the Liverpool and City teams are stronger platforms for youthful talent to prosper in them when introduced. Liverpool’s kids looked about primary school age.

A very good list. Chris Paterson could kick goals in his sleep. Place the ball, have a squint at the posts and pop it over. No weird gyrations or facial contortions like most other kickers. Sandy Lyle if you’re talking golf-sticks?

Blackburn Rovers lose on penalties to Newcastle United. 1-1 after ninety minutes in a good old fashioned FA cup tie between two proper clubs and no drums.
