  1. Completely agree with the call for a mass protest, but I don't agree with calling for fans not to enter the stadium to support the team.

If we can beat Hearts tomorrow night, then it narrows the gap and could cause Hearts to start wobbling themselves. If they start dropping points over the next couple of months the league title might not be out of our reach after all.

fair do's Zappa, but don't you think that Ashley will read a good crowd as proof that Rangers fans will ultimately keep following the team no matter what he does. That's what he has at Newcastle and let me choose my words carefully here, they are a very loyal, yet perhaps gullible bunch of cheery northern lads...

  2. No sane bear should be stepping inside Ibrox on Friday night - even if they already have a ticket !!!

    TOTAL boycott !!!!

absolutely agree. also to add no one should be going to the celtic semi. the clamour for tickets that game is what keeps these bastards believing that when we get back up that like sheep we will just trot along to every game because of the celtic rivalry and the cash will start rolling in again. they need the message that there will be nothing coming in if they don't do one...

  3. good lord we have to be careful here. some of these reactions are just what they want . Personally they are just a bunch of absolute roasters and I don't give a flying f*** what they think. if it's eating their souls then good I hope it destroys their pathetic little lives..

The only caveat is that I hope that the club have everything re titles protected, our status as the same club etc all documented with the relevant authorities and not reliant on the "opinion" of someone like Doncaster who could be railroaded by the "Dark Lawrd" himself if they ever decided to change the agenda..

  4. so we all need to expect less, but I don't ever see that happening.
    l

It doesnt have to mean that we expect less. It's more about how we go about getting back to the top. Hard work, good management on and off the pitch, build block by block, if we earn it we spend it. Done right it doesnt have to take forever. Any big bucks needs to be "invested" in infrastructure (departments functioning) iniatives that open up revenuevstreams that are sustainable, not "gambled" on a 20 million pound team with huge wage bills we cant sustain unless we get lucky in europe..

  5. as things progress that is what we will all expect, it is human nature, we get to SPL, we end up mid-table season one, lower possibly, we expect more the next season, then we end up in Europa, we want to become competitive in that, we win league, we get to qualifiers of CL,.... our demands increase, you know what we're like as fans we constantly expect more, the 3 Bears and KIng, as thankful as we are for their club investment and willingness it is not enough cash.

When will the penny drop! If you need mega millions then you always need more and more.. thats what fucked us up. Are we going to repeat the past?

    Same shit all over again.

  6. not enough money amongst fans, (3 Bears, King) possibly with full commitment from McColl but we know he's not willing or ready for that, therefore we need Sarver or someone of that ilk, whatever bluster we write on this site.

sorry should back that up; Hearts will be happy with Premiership football, occasional Euro football, we will want CL footie, on a regular basis, we may even expect to win a few games and before you know it we'll be asking to get to the last 16, that will demand serious money, not just fan ownership, we'll need some large US/Middle East/ Far East/non-Scottish money.

Is that what you expect or what you think others will expect?

  7. Are you kidding me, you've done nothing but attack and goad me since you came on to this forum.

Why don't you just keep your advice to yourself, I'll be sure to let you know if I need any.

Now now bh you should know by now that a bit of goading and outright derision of "certain" posters is perfectly acceptable. Use a bit of industrial language or offend "certain other" posters and you know you are headed for the naughty corner..

  8. think we also as a fan base need to be better educated in the ways of youth academies and what our aims for such should be. Think Ajax have the set goal of their academy to produce three players for the first team squad every two years. That is from a well established and very well funded youth system. 6m euro a year

So what is a realistic aim/goal for ours? one every two years?

a year ago Aberdeens goal was two per season to make first team squad. any more a bonus, less and the youth department had some serious questions to answer..

  9. Unless they can prove they are good enough for the standard we want these youngsters serve no purpose to us. Harsh but that is the way things are at Rangers.

ultimately, yes they have to be good enough. however the skills required to develop and nurture young players are not at our club at present. if you look at the newer crop of younger managers coming through , they have to work this way as they have no choice. the problem is the process from these young lads at about 16 years old to their introduction into the first team...

  10. A Youth Set Up is ultimately a gamble. There are always a couple of issues as I see it-

    1) It may not produces players good enough for the first team at the level we want to be at i.e.Premiership champions and doing well in Europe

    2) How can you be sure were signing the best youths and those at other clubs arent betterthan ours ?

D'Art mentioned Steven Pressley. He came thro at Rangers but was never of the standard we'd hoped for.And if the lad Urquhart is so good why is he in the third tier of Scottish football?

So often nowadays a manager will want to recruit players who have gained experience elsewhere. Introducing youth into a first team is dificult at the best of times which is why I think putting the likes of McKay and Gallagher out on loan will be beneficial to Rangers in the longer term.Very few youths will get into the first team. We need to remember that.

a couple of things in reply. at the younger age groups (generally from 11,s to 15's Rangers youth teams are excellent and would indicate that they have been able to get their hands on among the best youngsters . after that teams like Dundee united, Aberdeen , Hamilton etc seem to get these lads good enough for first team football.

next up is this idea that very few youngsters will play for Rangers. Times have changed. Until the last few years that was probably the case although it didn't have to be more to do with the type of managers we had who could only work with finished pros as development was not in their skill set. we have been lower than these teams I mentioned earlier but still think we are big league big spenders.. unfortunately we kept the manager with the limited skill set and as a result completely missed the boat. the problems are so deep rooted at the club that only massive changes will remedy the situation.

  11. That McCoist will be given his job back as manager? The thought of it fills me with dread

I have this dread that this was his plan all along, that he knew what was coming.... and he will be back in the hotseat..
