  1. Well put sc. So much of what is going on doesnt seem to make sense. Yes there is the big bonuses etc but if they just want to make a pile of cash then it could be done if they ran at a profit. Not such a fantastical concept if the points you make were implemented. I'm at a loss trying to figure it all out..
  2. Fucked! I worry if they do a leaseback deal that the yearly fee is extortionate. off course they will justify such deal as they need to make up shortfall in st sales. Over to you at sos!
  3. Not a suggestion on your thoughts more a question. Do you think our centre midfield is creative?
  4. Advocat took one look at barry and built his team around him in his best position even though he was a raw kid. Arguably one of the best players we have taken through the ranks in many a long year.. Mcleod is having some great moments on the left but it is plain to see that he would be better in the middle. Perhaps you think our central midfield is creative and exciting though.
  5. Ok doki. No idea how rfc works. At aberdeen there was the usual arse lickers who fawned over the coaches for favour. Dont think it made any difference there as decisions on who stayed who went was not down to one individual but more collective input. They were big into equal time at younger age groups. They would pre plan teams and which periods the lads played etc.they didnt change it even if they were getting humped. Parents are a problem at every level. We had a couple of roasters who could pick a fight anywhere. In my experience hibs parents were a nightmare, agressive, usual shouting to "nail him" kinda crap at 11 year olds. As i said teams with good record on developing youth seemed to have a more balanced appoach. To answer your question, depending on what the team is, it could well be that your mates lad got a raw deal or just making excuses for his lad not doing so well. At times it was the best thing as your lad is playing at highest level and at other times it was horrible as it was like a pressure cooker.
  6. I'm not replying for him. I am just curious your angle. You havent really expanded in your op despite a few folks putting up some info about pro youth from their own experiences. I thought, and perhaps wrong, that your comment about admin/coach(although he never said he was)/independent site was a bit sarky! So thats not the case, so what is your connection or concern re pro youth set ups?
  7. He's not a coach at rfc. Your comment about independent website etc was a bit strange tho.
  8. I'm not sure where you are coming from in this one!
  9. Would love to know how you deduced from craigs post that he is a rfc youth coach!!! i can see you have some gripes with rfc youth set up so come on and play your hand..
  10. I'm not advocating any boycott as you are right it would lead to complete shutdown of the club. Just trying to point out some glaring holes in the sos strategy.
  11. Yes iain sos want the ownership to change. As you guys are advocating game by game attendance i can't see how you hurt them! Only way you get that is for a complete boycott of everything so they have no income to spend on themselves. Dangerous games as they could just just sell off everything and leave us with nothing!
  12. You can read the reason for playing him at lm and it can make sense. The real problem is that ally does not trust mcleod in the middle, replacing one of the experienced pros. God forbid the loon might go of on a midfield run into the box, like durrant in his heydey, and expose our soft centre defence!! Hutton, now thats ok as he just sits in and does nothing fancy , or actually just nothng!
  13. They may well have new knowledge. As likely they have made an assumption based on their meeting a couple of months back when they were told a deal would be done for safeguarding ibrox but murray park seemed to be off the agenda..
  14. Catch 22 indeed. You encourage fans to withhold cash then castigate board for having a shortfall. Further castigation on their methods of err making up the missing funding because of the fans withholding. Do the sos ever wonder if they played right into the hands of the board?
  15. A lot of the teams at younger age groups u10's - u13 play some fantastic football. Believe me it is more entertaining than the big team, by miles.. Different teams have different philosophies. Rangers teams at these age groups last few years were probably the best. Good mix of strength and also some skillful wee lads as well. Celtic played to "win " every game. If they were under any pressure they piled on their strongest lads. Most teams appeared to give most o the lads equal time. Dundee unt teams were never the best in terms of results but played a quick pass and move style. Cant argue with their record of developing quality first teamers. My lads ex team ( good god don't ask!!), really pushed for techically gifted players. They taught the moves a lot, encouraging them to use them in games. The idea being all players whether in defence or mid or attack should be two footed, good touch and control and be able to beat a man anywhere in the park. They have been bringing through a fair few quality players in recent years as well. New manager last year instructed scouts to look for a different type of player, hence more of the new intakes look more athletic, physical types!,!! That' s the Walter influence seeping through haha.. I would say that the teams that have a good record developing youth players tended to not give a shit about the results as their focus was developing individuals to be good enough to make it..
  16. Yes this exempts you from nomination to the fan board!
  17. I believe so. I have read before that only way to avoid a pay off would be to issue one years notice to discontinue. That would not often happen as football as A. Few managers would accept such a vote of no confidence B. Most clubs entering into such a deal would know they can afford the pay off. My take A. I don't give a flying f @#* what he would think about it. B. We can't afford a million plus (backroom etc and deferred "pay cuts)
  18. I've said it before. As this is crux season for us the board should give ally and co a years notice on their contracts. That gives freedom to renegotiate a new one next year if they feel he has done a good job and an out if he screws up. If he doesn't like that then he can walk! NOW!
  19. Is this the start, next sob story will be lack of quality in squad blah blah. By all reports this was supposed to be a step from sacramento team. Didn't see the team that played that game being slagged off by kenny, for similar result/performance! The idea will be to justify sticking with experienced guys in any position as they are the only ones to trust etc..
  20. Oh well fair enough. Their " first team" playing tomorrow had better put in a good performance or we really will be in trouble.
  21. What a hullabaloo about the reverend. No idea who he is but would hazard a guess he is as trustworthy and honest as the rugby guy and weir.
  22. You can see this, in time, being the only supporters group that the club will engage with. If the big hitters of the current supporters groups don't join in ( taking their supporters with them) then they run the risk of being on the outside looking in. No big deal you might say if this group doesnt have the clout, but you know how ego works!
  23. But a load of them say they will go game by game. Board banking on this being the case. Oddly enough it is more likely that the element pissed off with the team performance on the park rather than the board haters could effect change as they are more likely to stay away in significant numbers!
  24. Surely a chairman worth his salt would be insisting he saw everything, and in light of all the issues at rangers it would not be asking to much to expect him to be poking his nose into everything. If he was denied access then that would surely be the biggest red light. I don't know the details on what went on behind the scenes but it is hard to believe that a blind eye wasn't turned, whether through fear (of own job), ignorance or imcompetence or nose in trough syndrome. Malcolm murray is a huge irrelevance unless he has found himself a set and ready to lay it all bare...
  25. He seems to have a lot more to say now he's out of it. He signed of many of the onerous contracts apparently. Did he have a gun to his head or did he choose to play the game?
