  1. If celtic take a good hard look at their recruitment. O'neill, while not operating at lennons gutter level was happy to play the irish card and with his little general stirring it on the park and sidelines he allowed a degree of sectarian abuse to emanate from the club (not the supporters). Lennon just ramped it all to the max. All this time tensions between the fans escalated Cue gordon strachan in between these and funnily enough tensions lessened as it was just about football. Gs was not interested in any other shite and lets face it was not popular with the green hordes despite a succesful stint. Whilst sections of rangers and celtic fans continue to embrace sectarian elements, since rangers buried the "no catholic signings" issue i cannot recall our club acting in a sectarian manner. Can celtic truthfully say the same ?

note that i distinguish between the clubs (players, officials, employeess etc under their direct control) and supporters (not fully under clubs control.)

  2. Seriously calgacus! the boards pr people blah blah this is just a thread on a forum and if you look at the folks "pushing" the share's point they are hardly in the thrall of the board, forlansister etc etc..

  3. Papa ally was entitled to take whatever was offered to him for whatever reason. Many on here would have done the same. Don't expect me to view ally differently from all the others who have lined their pockets while the club continues to lurch from one financial crisis to another. Thd fact that ally has portrayed himself as the "concience" or "protector" of the club makes it a wee bit more galling for me

  4. Craig. have you read the email on previous page! I'm no expert on rolling contracts but from others who seem to know we would always have to give him a years notice or a years pay off. At his rates and our finances it would seem that giving him a years notice now would be the ONLY prudent course of action..

  5. Rangers has served for many years as a disproportional gravytrain to those involved in the football operation.

This contributed greatly to lay the bases for the problems that came along and the sp.ivs who have taken advantage by adding another 'line' for Rangers to become a multi-layered gravytrain.

The business model and football operation at Ibrox/Auchenhowie should be torn up and started again.

However the faultlines are deep-rooted and that is why light cannot be seen in our particular tunnel.

The support argue back and forward but mostly, either one way or tuther, it's a route that keeps us in the dark.

The real challange at present is to find a way that leads to the prospect of 'light' being spotted and for that light to of benefit to the club, not individuals.

I don't always agree with you T4c but that is bang on

  6. Problem craig is that many, myself included, don't view allys managerial performance as a littany of hard luck times and heroic selfless acts. More like poor judgement, lack of managerial skills, poor football tactics and a nose so far in the trough it would make some other leeches at ibrox in recent time blush like a nun in a whorehouse. By taking on the massive task that is rangers manager his playing record was always going to be forgotten if he messed up.. That happens everywhere.. Even now some commentators saying if henrik was to take celtic job would he risk his god like status for a shot at manager success!

  7. Problem with this rolling contract arrangement (if correct)is we will have a years pay off to make when his time comes unless someone bites the bullet and gives him one years notice. Give him one years notice now. if in a years time he is worth a new deal then make a new deal then at realistic rates etc if he is fucking up at christmas then pay off will be half and finally if he doesn't like that arrangement he can walk now.

  8. Wouldn't it be interesting if sos or billy the brocher demanded to know the exact terms of allys contract, not just how much but what sort of clauses are built in. As it stands he looks completely bombproof

  9. Ticket sales ie supporters paying to watch a football match is vital capital. The business should be ran properly with that income. Outside investment can't be relied on to "run" the club but should be used as a planned programme to take the team or facilities to a next level. Rightly or wrongly, if fans do not buy tickets then they will be contributing to the financial plight of the club. Brinksmanship on both sides, who will blink first blah blah. My concern is that if this board and major shareholders really don't care about rangers as a football club, as they are generally believed not to, then if we go bust again will they sell our assets close us down and walk away with what they can?
