Jon Daly reveals talks with Ally McCoist over potential Rangers move
DUDE replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Youth level doesn't seem to count, otherwise you couldn't manufacture a "Rangers want to sign first Irish catholic"- headline. You just got to love the press these days don't you. -

Seems they can't stress this enough. I don't know about the other bluenoses but I couldn't care less if the guy's an Irish catholic or an Indian buddhist monk as long as he scores. As for his qualities, I think he'd be a decent enough signing. We don't seem to have an adequate striker so he might be able to fill this gap. All depends on what he asks for salary wise though which is likely to be a lot. -
Football is a game of results. We are winning Div. 3, this has become inevitable by now, if we achieve this by playing dirty, ugly, result oriented football, fine. I give this the benefit of doubt after everything that's happened. But by the time we've moved up some leagues, this can't seriously be the style of play we want to implement, results over everything. You can be succesful with this no doubt, look at Chelsea under DiMatteo they won the CL with that. But I seriously think this style of play is not worthy of a team wearing light blue jerseys in the long run and I also think this is all McCoist is capable of as a manager, unfortunately.

I'm not saying training is inept, the package isn't right. I'm not enough of an expert to judge whether the problem is training, tactics, Ally's leadership or whatnot. However, it seems to be a combination of all of them. The coaching staff haven't ruined any players but the team as a whole is not improving one bit, there's no denying this is, whatever the reasons.
-
I think looking at the team now and at the start of the season can give a pretty clear view on his work, because this is detached from the situation. We're not talking absolute performance but performance in relation to the same set of players half a year back. That has actually gotten worse in my opinion and that has nothing to do with surroundings, but with coaching not able to make them better.
-
A team that is actually getting worse and showing less commitment week after week is a pretty clear indicator something within the management is going wrong. I love Ally for all he's done, but it would be best to just call it quits and leave with some dignity left instead of being sacked. It's quite inevitable this will be the last consequence isn't it.

When exactly did Fran become a Rangers ace? He can piss off without ever being missed as far as I'm concerned if he thinks Rangers are below his standard. Jeez.
-
So now we're glad to scoop up a point against Stirling Albion at Ibrox? He cannot be serious.
-
Spot on. I really can't bear to hear him dream on about this anymore.
-
That bit almost sounds cynic when you look at it now.
-
I wouldn't say failure as we, as Whosethedado pointed out, will most likely reach our goal to win Div 3. I didn't expect to pick up any cup silverware to be honest, our team just isn't good enough to be expecting any of that from a realistic point of view. It definitely is a disappointment we don't seem to be able to make the best of this chance to reboot.
-
That's bad for him he's turned out nicely this season. Quick recovery to him.

Talking about shoes there mate? By the way, did we ever have a Puma manufactured strip, I don't remember one. Should be really interesting what design will ome out.
-
The bottom line should be what value a deal would generate but my personal feeling is to keep it all reasonable, i.e not give away too much power to a sponsor as that would very certainly proof to be unhealthy in the long run.
-
No mate, he is TRYING to fight for us that's a big difference. In reality he is doing us a disservice more often than not. Sometimes it's better to just keep your mouth shut instead of coming out with dodgy half- truths. And this is not a matter of "we have to stop this dignified silence", it's a matter of not making ourselfs look stupid. To exaggerate a bit, would you say Phil Three Names is fighting for Celtic or does he shine a bad light on them with his tripe?

Odds on Rangers being punished for fan behaviour at Tannadice?
DUDE replied to bigy's topic in Rangers Chat
Imagine the level of frustration it actually takes to go out, spend money on a ticket and a blue, red and white scarf and act like a fan of a club I despise to miscredit it's supporters. Jesus that really sounds like a lot of hurt feelings. -
Macleod and now wee Barrie with long term contracts, great stuff.

It's pretty obvious that other supporters are responsible if the guest section is filled nicely when any riots occur, just because there won't be THAT many real bears attending. I don't know, this is certainly a new situation but I'd be surprised if there'd be any consequences for us. On the other hand, ruling bodies always show some extra creativity when it comes to punishing Rangers. Guess we'll have to wait and see. -
I know why I stopped reading Leggats articles after that Struth/ Stein nonsense. Can't stand the guy, bear or not.
-
One of the greatest ever to wear light blue, always welcomed back at Ibrox. But we are having a couple of embassedors of the club these days don't we. What exactly is their job?
-
Aye just like the hundreds of bookstore owner who recieved threats that their stores would be burned down if they had Mad Phil's book on display. Laughable.
