  1. Personally couldn't disagree more with the banning of journalists from our stadium. Just because we don't like their views however bias/misdirected they may be we should not be taking this kind of action. Whilst it is far more damaging having an organisation like the BBC publish one sided articles than the printed press with their diminishing audience, this act is something we should absolutely ever do. First of all it will not change the stories that are published and second it will just bring further bad press our way which with this action is perfectly justified.

  2. WHAT DO WE WANT OUT OF THIS ?

Three years ago certain clubs were trying to put us out of business altogether. These figures suggest to me (& others too maybe)that Scottish Football would struggle badly to survive without us.

And these clubs who were trying to put us out of business may care to consider the fact that Rangers are subsidising the rest of Scottish football. Something that irks me.

Ok agree with your point but again what do you suggest? Give the bulk of the money to us.... what does that achieve?

Maybe i am being naive but sometimes i feel we look into this to find a way to be annoyed about something which we shouldnt be annoyed about. We are the biggest club in Scotland, fact. This proves this again but I still struggle to understand another way which the distribution should be done.

  3. Having not read anything that John James has alleged about the current Board, can someone please enlighten me as to what they accuse them of?

I made the mistake of having a cursory glance and the blogs are very similar in vibe to that of the rangers tax case and phil 3 names stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if its the same people involved in all 3.

Anyway from what i could figure out they are saying that King has no money and has gone against his promises. We will run out of cash this month and the club will go into admin again. That was the gist i took away anyway.

Usual scaremongering stuff trying to throw enough mud hoping something sticks then they can say they are a legitimate news source. Maybe someone who has looked through in more depth can give a better response than i did.

  4. But this is the point. They should be in great shape. They should have been winning trebles and spending big in champs league. Their fans should have been turning up. They should be on a high, but they aren't because they aren't that good, they aren't spending, they DO rely on Rangers and their fans aren't interested without us there.

Not disagreeing with what your saying but don't see why it should be a big topic on the radar of a Rangers fan?

  5. Works great on the BBC Iplayer but does not work on the sky link or the link for NOS(dutch)

Guys be careful with the Hola extension, they are a bit dodgy if you are not paying for the premium service. I am not a tech guru but i believe it is something along the lines of they sell your unused bandwith which can be used by other companies/individuals and apparently was used as part of a hacking scandal.

  6. First and foremost our youths need to be good enough before they can be considered for the first team.

Unfortunately the vast majority aren't so that leaves two options:-

    1) pay transfer fees for players in this country & elsewhere

    2) get loan signings who better than our home grown players

Option1) is very difficult nowadays because transfer fees have literally gone thro' the roof and the income we generate in a backwater like Scotland makes it almost impossible to compete to get the calibre of player we want although a proper global scouting system still needs to be put in place.

That leaves option 2) and the MW appointment gives us access to fringe EPL players like Oduwa, Ball and Zalelam which we might not otherwise have had if we'd appointed the likes of McCall or McInnes. The challenge is, of course, ensuring they're the calibre we will need in the next few seasons as we re-enter European football.

Once we are back in Europe again I would imagine the quality of the loan players MW could attract would also go up. I could see EPL clubs with fringe players would jump at the chance for them to get European experience. But we need a good mix so our boys are improving and not just giving the game time to a short term player. So far i think MW has got it bang on.

  7. Other point worth remembering is this is a brand new back 4 + goalie (in fact brand new team really). This will take a bit of time to gel.

From what i've seen so far we do look really susceptible to conceding cheap goals at the minute, the defending for the Alloa goal was awful but I suspect over the next few games a lot of these issues will be remedied. But overall I am still far more confident in this back four than I ever was the past few years.

  8. First time in a long time i can genuinely say i am looking forward to watching Rangers play football at the start of the new season... not just looking forward to supporting the club. Really hope everything goes well I truly think this is man that can make a massive difference to the club over the next few years.

  9. Hearts didnt have the scrutiny nor anywhere near the pressure players at Rangers will. Patience is all good and well but only appropriate when the right outcome looks assured. The squad right now is easily the worst we have ever had. We need midfielders and forwards now who can win this league at a canter and be foundations for next year.

We cannot fail to win the league this year. The reality is he loses the first 5 games he will be under massive pressure.

Getting the players in before the season begins is normal pace not rushed. You get a team in ready to win the league before the season starts and supplement and fill any injuries mid season not start with a poor side then improve.

For me this is exactly what is wrong with our support. We all want everything to happ n now. Sign players left right and centre assuming that this is I'll solve the proble,.... Ignoring the fact ally did exactly this and it was a disaster. We need to learn from our mistakes and not repeat them.

  10. Hope we can get something in place to help identify players soon. Patience ain't going to replace our winning mentality. Everything they are doing bar the signings seems perfect. The ethos he is trying to establish will fit perfectly with our club and it'd fans. Hope he can produce a team which will encourage fans to want more.

I disagree about the signings. Look at the mess Ally got us in with rushed signings. I am absolutely delighted that the manager is taking his time here and not making any rush calls.

Hearts managed to win the league at a canter last year with youth players - we have better individual players than them - so no excuse for us not to win the league even if the manager cant bring in anyone else. Plus we still have 6 weeks till the transfer window shuts...

  11. Mcormack needed us to release him to get it into his head that talent only takes you so far. He was a waster at rangers.

Don't really understand how you can say that about a guy that played a dozen games over 3 years all before he was 20 years old.

If anything it shows our incompetence even back then on recognising talent when it was right in front of our face.

  12. Adam and McCormack were and are more than good enough for us, look more at the managers in charge at the time than any failings on the players part.

Adam is a highlight reel player - watch him on match of the day and you wonder why top teams dont want to sign him... watch the full 90 mins then you understand why.

Still think he was good enough for us but he is not even close to being as good as some people hold him up to be.

McCormack was a good player and would have been good enough for us but was never give 1. time and 2. a run of games. Although I always thought he was really lightweight for the Scottish leagues but that could just have been down to his age when he was with us...

  13. If he is a SMART businessman he will see in the blink of an eye that renegotiating will generate MORE money for him than standing firm.

If the annual profit during a boycott is 1 million quid and he gets 76% then that is 760k for SD

If the annual profit after re-negotiation to more favourable terms (no 7 yr notice period, say 20% to SD (still to high...) and 80% to Rangers) is 5 million then that is 1 million to SD.

He gets more with a reduced shareholding/profit share because the revenue and profits are increased thanks to renegotiation

He should be smart enough to know that by standing firm will reduce his profits more than by renegotiating. That said, he doesn't need the Rangers profits, he may very well stand firm simply because he is stubborn.

I mean this as no offense but one thing for sure is the Mike Ashley is a smart businessman.... hence why he is in this string position in the first place. I will have no doubt his and SD's financial teams will be analyzing everything very closely. Maybe they are still making reasonable money and have no interest in changing... who knows.

  14. As far as the board are concerned cost does not come into it. They are trying everything to win the EGM, hoping that distance stops small shareholders from attending/voting. We must ensure that all small shareholders proxy their votes on this occasion.

I understand that on a personal/ business interetst level for them they want to win however what I was meaning was as board members of RIFC surely they have a duty to go down a cost effectivetive route when presented to them?
