  1. People forget that in the Motherwell game we only improved once he was forced to make a change. Before that with Jig in midfield we were poor.
  2. Wow i really wish they would just stick to facts and things they know are likely. I mean the papers will only pick up on this and the Apple naming rights thing and in my opinion makes a mockery of a lot of other positive points.
  3. Unless i am missing something, is it not a bit contradictory saying one hand he will not be taking Rangers back to the SPL and then saying he has discussed a budget for returning to the top with the manager....? Some positive points but some seem totally ridiculous if you ask me.
  4. There is a few in there you said stood out early on...who are the current stand outs we will be looking forward to in the next couple of seasons? McCabe and Ness leaving still f*cking pisses me off. Especially Ness, whenever he was fit an playing you could tell the boy had quality.
  5. Glad we are at home still don't trust us to perform away.
  6. I don't know how anyone else feels about this but regardless what the final tax bill is part of me will always feel pissed off that we will never have the chance to pay it off. It just doesn't sit right with me not being able to pay off our creditors and tax payers, small business etc being out of pocket because of two idiot owners.
  7. To be honest i am enjoying life in div 3 much more than i thought i would so I am all for rejecting promotion if they take our titles. The way they have acted so far it wouldn't even need them to take our titles really... However, if we could get a couple of the more friendly SPL sides (Killie & ......???) on board we really would be holding all the cards. They can hardly go on with an 8 or 9 team league so they would come with the begging bowls to the SFL. Just a pipe dream but putting it out there to get other peoples thoughts.
  8. Could you imagine the hoo ha if they did it about Lemon. That lot would be holding another bloody candlelight vigil as we speak.
  9. I never seen the start but you could tell during the game the commentators had their fingers crossed every time M'Well were attacking. They were dying for them to score. It's a shame that the BBC Scotland Sport team are so bloody unprofessional.
  10. Ah ok that makes sense then. Hopefully they have sorted it out now and the boy can get back in the team. Although we only have 60 mins of football for comparison i think that Hutton/McLeod looked better than Black/AN Other combo we have had this season.
  11. Sorry mate can't agree with you here. The majority of our creativity came through the midfield when the ball was on the deck. Aird/Wallace getting down the byline, McLeod and Hutton picking forward passes and getting up in support. Look at the goals again, the corner for the first goal game from Shiels running at the defence, the second goal came from Wallace bursting forward and getting the ball into the box. Long balls were played to Aird ffs who is about 5' nothing, i can recall McCulloch and Sandaza winning headers that were flicked on to nobody as we were playing one up front. And i'm not saying that you should never play a long ball, I just think the way the team played second half proves we have the ability to be more than capable of winning games with keeping the ball on the deck. Don't really get your last comment mate, this is professional football, you can't compare it to Sunday League. Anyway don't want to slate the performance really because i thought we played really well once Jig was shifted up top.
  12. Great post. It was the best performance we have seen from the team this season without a shadow of a doubt. I hate to be negative but the thing that changed the game was Sandaza going off injured and Jig going upfront. This was a forced changed for Ally but he still made the right decision. Before that it was more of the same aimless long balls to Aird who is about 5' nothing. After seeing Hutton playing i am totally miffed as to how he isn't more involved withe the first team. Him and McLeod were brilliant together, both have a range of passes and are willing to turn and take the ball forward. McLeod seemed to also grow in confidence as the game went on and in my mind was one of the best players on the park. I hope we have the balls to give Aird on the left and McKay on the right a go in the league home games..that would stretch any defense and should run riot.
  13. Long ball game is bread and butter for the majority of centre halfs in lower leagues. I wouldn't have as much of a problem (don't get me wrong i still wouldn't like it) with the long balls if we had a setup to benefit from it...but we don't. Nacho scored countless goals from Prso flick-ons but where is that setup in this team? You have Jig as target man but no-one playing off the shoulder to get in behind. Long balls bypass the midfield so they are yards behind the ball and playing catch up. Surely Ally would be blowing his nut if he was telling them to keep the ball on the deck, make the ball do the work, keep possession. But he isn't. So this suggests he is happy with the setup that as it currently is. I just think with an SPL quality side we should have the ball on the deck taking advantage of our players best attributes. Shiels was player of the year in a Killie team which played excellent football last year. McLeod and McKay look really good talents with ball to feet. Templeton will be when fit. Anyway next time just keep an eye on the amount of long balls we play and the outcome. Most of the time we are just handing possession right back to the opposition. Sorry i'm not very articulate so not sure if my post answered your initial question.
  14. Not exempt but imo the fault is lies more with tactics, formation and team selection rather than the 11 players on the pitch at the moment.
  15. i really don't see how you can blame the players. Ok one game where we resort to long ball football then i could understand but we are consistently playing this long ball crap. Also the players don't pick the formation and we are effectively playing with one up front at home against a third division side. I understand there would be a period of transition but it would be a lot easier to accept if we were dropping points and out of competitions because we were setup in an attacking manner trying to play good football.
  16. The twitter version of a kiss and tell. Spout nonsense hoping to lure someone in and make a wee story for yourself.
  17. The scary thing for me is the contents of this dossier didn't even shock me. This is two of our sports major governing bodies conniving to try and punish a member team for something we haven't even been found guilty of ffs. But as i said the antics of the SFA and SPL don't even surprise me anymore.
  18. Thanks for breaking the info down. Few interesting points there....will be interesting to see if he follows through with some of the major ones
  19. As you say our ball retention is shocking....i feel at the moment we are at some half way house between deciding whether to pump the balls long or play the ball on the deck. This is where i feel the fault lies at Coisty....it looks like the players don't know what the plan of attack is themselves. Don't even get me started on our corners and free kicks. How hard is it for a professional footballer to whip the ball in with pace? How many corners/free kicks has Black taken recently..and i really am struggling to think of a couple which were decent. The goal from last nights corner was firstly a shite corner then even worse defending luckily enough. I feel bad putting the boot into the team so much but just getting really infuriated by the recent performances.
  20. Totally Agree. One of my major gripes and was also evident last night is you would see one man break off, most often from memory was McKay or Jig, to close down the opposition but this was very rarely followed up by the rest of the team. It really is a wasted effort in this sort of scenario one or two simple sideway passes and you are around the man closing you down who is then in turn out of position and they have a vast gap to venture into. You either need to close down as a unit, ala Barca, or not do it at all and stay rigid.
  21. If that's the options i agree with you but we shouldn't kid ourselves the football was pretty dire under Walter as well so i wouldn't expect much difference even in the 3rd division. Both managers are content to give the opposition the majority of possession which i have never understood...if you have the ball the other team can't score.
  22. Came here to say this basically. Would add that I would like to give a young manager the chance who is willing to get the team playing good football and hopefully stick around for the forseeable future.
  23. I agree to a certain level that the pitch size should make a difference but not to the extent that it is. I mean its never been too much of a problem before..off the top of my head last year we beat Arbroath 4-0 away from home and a couple of years before that we beat Forfar 5-0 i think it was. And lets be honest if pitch size was that big of a factor we would see top level teams getting dumped out of cups regularly which simply isn't true. Coisty is my hero, but it makes me really sad to say this he just isn't a manager. He had the team pumping long balls up the pitch which a) makes your eyes bleed to watch and b) is just bread and butter for these defenders. I am not expecting us to play like Barcelona but expecting us to out play part time footballers isn't asking too much. I can accept it if we play well and the ball doesn't find the back of the net, it happens in football....but what i can't accept is playing utterly terrible football and struggling to even create chances.
  24. My understanding is that the chairman is more involved with the shareholders, making sure they are happy, fileding their concerns etc and attracting investment. While the CEO is involved in the day to day running of the club. But by the looks of things Green is involved in both of those to a certain extent. That doesn't mean to say that Murray isn't however.
  25. The data is collected by these guys - http://www.barb.co.uk/index/index They have 5,100 tv sets with meters in them and then use that as a guide to haw many watch each program.
