  1. I don't see the point in keeping him all this time when he's been injured. We saw 1st hand with Mols what happens when a player comes back from a knee injury, they aren't the same players as they once were.

    Like Larsson you mean?

I think Mols (and Rangers) was really unlucky with his injury, i would at least give Webster a chance and see how he recovers.

  2. Re Smith, I'll believe it when I see him back on the training ground.

Wee Nacho will be back as soon as, probably against whoever we're playing next weekend.

Andy who? Get him tae fuck!

Do you not think that he Webster would be worth keeping?

from what ive seen he is a good centre half and maybe an ideal replacement for Weir.

He has had a hellish time of it in the past 6 months but after this tidy-up op i see no reason to get shot of him just now.

  3. Yes and then we can watch more of that negative shite. If we can't even put in an effort to move forward what is the point.

Would you really prefer to have attacked Barca more and got beat 5-1?

Sorry mate but negative or not thats the only way we could have played Barca at the Nou Camp.

Better teams than us have gone to the Nou Camp and tried to shut up shop.

  4. I think Gattusso could play right back instead of Porrini. I'm sure he played there once or twice ??

Your right mate, he did play there a few times under Advocaat. One of the worlds best centre mids and we play him right fucking back

  5. This is probably just another rumour but heard from a few Septic fans in the office that wee Chesney will be announcing his resignation in a "press confrence" at 3pm.

As i said probably a load of shit but anyone else heard?

  6. Not good at all !!! :flipa: :uzi:

    Agreed, Come on the pool.

Got a text last night from my mate from Liverpool, he has got me a ticket for the Arsenal game on Sunday, Cant wait, although after seeing Arsenals result last night it might be a tough 90 mins

  7. Superb work R.B, enjoyed that, we still need to erradicate that *** as sung in the second video though......lol

Yeah, i think we have to come up with alternative words, the ssshhhhh at the end of the sash is class, something like that would be good for follow follow because just now it just seems to go quiet at that point and very few people seem to want to sing "even up to aberdeen" in its place.

  8. Sorry i will take this back a bit as it sounds very negative but we were good in the first 10mins and last 20mins but i really believe if we had a bit more confidence on the ball and more important running into good positions off the ball then we could have done better. as Terry Butcher said it looked like we were thinking we have got the ball let's all stop and take a break. I mean this positively, i really feel we could have done so much better tonight.

Do you not think that if we committed people forward we would have ran the risk of leaving ourself open at the other end, especially with the pace they had.

I was arguing with a guy in the Govan last night, hes shouting abuse at the team for not attacking more, FFS we werent playing Gretna last night, Barca's front 3 arent worth over 100 million for nothing.

For me Walter got it spot on.

P.S. Cousin MOTM for me, he was superb.

  9. Have I ever said Fergie wouldn't be in my team?

Just read back your post on the oh barry barry thread, you were criticising his inconsistant performances and saying he was no better than a good player, for some reason i thought you were of the opinion that we should be dropping him for the odd game when his performances drop?

  10. i cant remember any other player in recent history who's so consistently played well in big, big games.

Yep, im really stunned by the criticism he is getting, Kris Boyd gets pelters for performing against the smaller teams but not on OF games or in Europe.

Now Fergie gets pelters for upping his game for the big occasions.

IMO people are being over critical of him, FFS, there isnt a single player in the world that can perform at thier best every game, Steve Gerrard (and before anyone says im not compairing them) gets exactly the same criticism from the Liverpool fans yet he is seen as one of the top midfielders in Europe.

Out of all the football ive seen, all of Europes top players have games were they dont perform to thier usual standards, Ronaldinho, Henry, Kaka, Rooney.

Why cant we be thankful that we have got him to put in these big performances in our massive games, because without him we would be trully fucked, 3-4 million as mentioned above would not buy a player capable of putting in the performances that Barry is.

Also all the current players seem to respect Ferguson, yes he did tell Cousin to take centre and pass it to him but did you also notice later in the game when Cousin and Fergie were laughing and joking together.

  11. Hutton is fantastic when he turns up and plays his top game, unfortunately he doesn't always do that. Same goes for Ferguson, Thomson, Whittaker and Boyd.

Funnily enough it seems to be the Scots boys who contribute to our best displays but also our worst. They all need a to be more consistantly near the top of their game.

Sorry mate, i have to disagree on Hutton, as far as i can remember he has had 1 below par game this season and IMO his consistancy has been his strong point this season.

The other four i do agree with though, especially Whittaker.

  12. The difference between the Juninho incident and the Dida one is incomparable. The former dived during the course of play in order to win a foul and the other one dived and feigned injury for ten minutes in an attemtp to get the decision of a match overturned.

Juninho should have got hammered for what he did, but it is incomparable to the actions of Dida, who got everything he deserved imo

I probably agree with what they got fined, even if i was hoping for a more severe punishment.

    BUT

Uefa's line on the Juninho incident is that it didnt effect the outcome of the game, neither did Didas, the fact that Davie Wier got booked in the Juninho incident just adds more weight to it.

Uefa's decisions are like a lottery.

  13. It seems that the interferance of vatican has no boundaries (as their lacks of morals too)... Now, they are in football trying to increase their influence and presence in public... This is a disgrace to the game and attack on the personal freedom of choice. Fans and players don't need them to "teach" how this beatiful game should be played...

  15. Totally agree that WS got it wrong on Saturday. IMO we shouldn't be playing a 4-5-1 or 4-1-4-1 at home. Now I don't know what is going on behind the scenes and I've not seen the players in training but if we are going to play this formation (which is designed for counter attacking plays) we need to have a lot more attacking pace in the midfield i.e Beasley, Burke, Novo etc but we actually played with 3 defensive midfielders Hemdani, Thomson and Whittaker and another with no pace, Adam. Barry also had an off day. The tactics were all wrong and I hope that we can learn from these recent mistakes however, I thought last season was the time to get those out of our system.

Worryingly WS didn't make any changes either at half time or immediately after they scored. It was almost 10 mins after they scored before the first subs came on!!

Totally agree mate, if WS is to make the 451 / 433 formation work then he must play with more attacking players out wide, i would say you could pick two wide players out of Novo, Beasley, Gow, Burke, Naismith.

Playing Adam and whittaker wide might work in europe but when we have to play more attacking i.e. in the SPL, then they are totally useless.

  16. Celtic deserved their win. Milan done absolutely nothing. Got a gift of a penalty in my eyes. And the keeper is a joke. I started supporting Milan but i am glad the tims beat them now. Well done!

Pete, i think you are taking this fair minded thing way too far. :)

  17. Dida did really make a meal of it and the mhank did hardly touch him but Uefa cant sweep this under the carpet, they cannot have fans running on to the pitch and confronting players.

I dont think the fact that he hardly touched him really matters because he could have done a lot worse to him.

  18. Hemdani was superb tonight, i think he should play more domestically, starting against Hibs at the weekend but only if we are playing the 3 centre mids IMO.

If its 442 i would still play Thommo and Fergie but i think we might see Walter playing the 451 / 433 a bit more in the league.

He surely cant continue to leave Hemdani out the team.

  19. good post frankie. but i believe that if critisism is due then we should be critisising.

For me walter has shown far too much faith in thompson and whittaker. they dont contribute enough to merit a place in the first eleven every game.

also we have to decide on our best front line. id have boyd and cousins upfront with darcheville and novo/neismith out on the flanks.

given the abundance of attacking players we have im pretty miffed by the way we set our stall out. we seem to be defending on our 18 yardline no matter the opposition. we really do show teams far too much respect.

theres acres of room for improvement.

I dont understand this, you seem to understand the importance of picking a preffered partnership up front and give it a chance to develop, yet you think we should be swapping and changing our partnership in the middle of the park.
