To which I would reiterate; the only advantage of having Moshni in midfield is that when he fucks up he still has the defense behind him to help sort it out. let's bear in mind that he may show some skills (as he did last night) that are noteworthy for a defender, but he hasn' shown anything that suggests he would be comfortable in midfield (other than in some sort of Libero role - yes, there I've done it; compared Franz Beckenbauer to Bilel Mohsni - sue me). The obvious solution is, let's keep him in defense and have him marked by McGregor until the end of the season, then sell him to anyone who'll give us a penny for him.

Amo had a younger brother of about the same age as Rino and imho anything he did regarding Gattuso was done like an older brother looking out for the kid. Add to that, he was also club captain and saw it as his job to watch out for the youngsters. The 80s was a while ago but if my memory is accurate there was no forcing of change and concerted effort on the part of the fans. People simply stopped turning up to watch rubbish. The impetus for change came from the top in response to the drifting away of the support but there certainly weren't any demonstrations or groundswell of protest. i don't think it would be fair to lump in the early 70s here. We did actually have a very good team at the time - in fact I think we won some sort of international competition round about then - we just happened to be up against one of the best teams in Europe at the time.

Overall, I think the Rangers fans have been magnificent throughout this entire debacle; supporting the club when it needed to be and boycotting the board when it needed to be. For a period there, the fans were the only recognisable thing of the club. However, there is a schizophrenia in our support that simply isn't there among the Jambos. As soon as they got the chance, they unified, acted and got the job done. We, on the other hand, seem to be divided into two groups. The people whose only interest is the well-being of Rangers and those who will blindly follow follow whatever the power structure of the day happens to be and will defend the indefensible for longer than is mentally healthy. These people will put their own egos, politics and personal agendas before the good of the club no matter how much damage they cause.

are we going to have to look at Hearts and think "why can't we do that?" after they sign a shirt sponsorship deal that allows them to carry a Save the Children logo instead of a commerical company? At least the way they have rescued and structured their club gives us something to aim at.

While you're maybe being a bit harsh on Gazza8, you've identified the only issue worth bothering about here; it's not Guidetti singing a song, the meaning of which is unknown to him, it's the behaviour and hypocrisy of Celtic FC in attempting, yet again, to deflect, deny and avoid. This behaviour follows a pattern. No matter what the charge, either to player, club or fans, they will fight it and attempt to bully their way out of it if possible. They are the biggest club in the top flight and they have the resources to throw at any charge against them - or indeed anyone who displeases them. This makes it an unappealling prospect for the authorities in Scotland to bring them to task on anything. I think it's fairly instructive that UEFA, for whom Celtic are a piddling minnow, hammer them time after time, whereas in Scotland nothing happens to them for the same offenses.

Am I being naive when I say that I want to see a certain type of person playing for Rangers? A person who displays character on and off the pitch? Someone who doesn't shamefully play act to try to get another player sent off. Someone who doesn't turn his back on the club that looked after him while he spent many, many months in physio in their hour of need.
