  1. That debt was acrued before Ashley got Newcastle. please get your facts correct.

Ashley took that debt from a bank which was crippling Newcastle and they now owe him it

no not quite right, it was because he didn't do proper due diligence during takeover and all the historical finance agreements had stipulations in place saying they must be paid in full when the club was sold. Ashley had no other option but to take on the debt and takes money from the tv deal each year to pay it off. Think it was the first £15m he took last year. The myth of no interest was blown open when during fans meetings they said the free advertising round the stadium was in lieu of. Either way they pay it still to this day.

  2. Chris Musson ‏@camusson

Somers tries to curry favour with angry fans by blaming "anti-Rangers sentiment" in Scotland for part of club's woes. He gets booed. Again.

is it just me that sees Irvine in comments like that?

  3. Whyte and Green are capitalist con artists, taking all they can grab in a quick attack and run. For that is all they could do, with no financial back up whatsoever. Ashley "rapes" on a different level and will "ensure" that he can "rape" as hard and long as he can. For that he needs a "functional victim" and he has the means to keep it functional, Whyte and Green had not. No-one wants to become another Black-and-White Ashley harlot. For harlots live a miserable life. Yet, they live ... and that is something neither Whyte nor Green could offer.

NB: Was Ashley behind Green all along? Who knows? We can speculate all day tough.

for me Green was an employee of the raper utilized to facilitate the "functional victim" part as you call it. Why else would he make the largest return from Green being in charge?

why else would someone approach green ask him to front a consortium, front the money then sit back and watch as green gives Ashley the keys to the vault for zero? If it looks like a rose, smells like a rose..........

  4. Did I? Let me quote myself again here: Ashley is a hardcore capitalist and opportunist. No-one is debating that. Ashley is an Evil no-one wants at the club.

As long as we can't make him go away and he's not leaving, one might spare a second or two reasoning whether he's solely (sic!) here for money. Whether that debate yields any results or not.

He's a different Evil than Whyte, Green

your words, took it from them you meant he is a different commodity.

  5. most of they questions I could tell you their answers right now, most have already been covered by their spin machine with full deflection in place. They need to be far more pointed than that.

    1. How does the board plan to increase turnover and reduce costs to enable Rangers to operate in future without the need for emergency loans?

With cost cutting already underway mentioned in the media and closer relations with fans through aspects like the fans board. Share issue if resolution is passed. Hope cost cutting indicates to present shareholders and London blah blah blah

    2. Can the board explain fully the terms of its merchandise agreement with Sports Direct, in particular the latest financial figures that appear to show Rangers receiving just 75 pence from every £10 spent?

will hide behind aim and then wax lyrical about how good it is with future mystery payments due

    3. What, if anything, did Rangers provide to Mike Ashley Holdings (MASH) for waiving their rights to naming the stadium?

nothing, was done from the goodness of his heart

    4. What is the Rangers defence to the SFA allegation of Ashley’s dual interest, especially if he increases his shareholding?

will fight sabre rattling only holds 10% at this point. Why would for the good of the game the sfa block it.....

    5. What do the Rangers board understand to be MASH’s long-term vision for the club?

same as boards, to continue our great partnership which benefits both parties blah blah blah

    6. If the board knew £8million was needed to see out the season, why did they not engage further with Dave King over his proposed investment?

no proof of cash or names behind bid with recent media coverage from south africa proving them right......

    7. Does the board envisage any scenario in the next 12 months in which its assets – Ibrox, Murray Park, Albion Car Park and Edmiston House – are sold to pay off debts?

not in plans at this point as stated before.

    8. How does the board plan to re-establish trust with the fan base, particularly those who have already disengaged?

    fans board, transparency............

    9. There are 12 players out of contract in the summer. What are the plans for player recruitment and retention from January?

youth and contracts will be assessed on an on going basis after the agm and future fund raising will give clearer indications.

    10. When will the club seek to replace McCoist and what will be the remit of the new manager?

end of season happy with mcdowall at this point he knows the club well and is due his shot, have faith blah blah blah. Will enter a rigorous interview process to find best candidate

  6. Ask him to justify his comments on sports direct against historical figures pre-admin and how this deal is therefore beneficial? Why should we trust a man who has stripped the club of vital revenue and turned it into losses in the form of loans? Ask him how can fans trust a man who when given an inch by CG acted with complete contempt for the club signing what must be the worst contract the club or any football club for that matter has ever entered into its history? Does he really think the fans will trust anyone who stands there and thanks Ashley for his input when he has so obviously stripped us to the bone? If Ashley had paid for his contract there would be no need for loans.

  7. Did I say anywhere that Ashley will do what is best for Rangers, or is the best solution for Rangers? Did I say anywhere that Ashley isn't here for making money or furthering the interest of SD and himself?

Ashley is a hardcore capitalist and opportunist. No-one is debating that.

He can get money out of Rangers as things stand. If things stay as they are, he'll get less money out of Rangers and may bleed us dry. Is that what he usually does though? What he did with Newcastle? Is it by default wrong to assume that he will not like what Rangers bring to his name at this moment and time, money- and public attention-wise? Is it by default wrong to assume that Ashley would not like to add some silverware to his ego with a winning club, drawing attention to his name by being proclaimed "saviour of the fallen giant"? I'm not in Ashley's mind and thus will not give as a definite an answer as some other posters do.

Just to say it again: Ashley is an Evil no-one wants at the club. He's a different Evil than Whyte, Green and to some extent Murray was though. He's a different Evil than the one who ran the club this last year or so. As things stand though, with King out of the equation at this moment and time, he is the ONE EVIL that CAN keep the club alive. That is very different to what we had since 2011. Hence my remark about Ashley being different to the various "rapist" thus far. If I had a choice, I'd would want to see him leave yesterday. That choice is not available though. For the time being, we have to live with Ashley and can only assume what he's looking for here, as Rangers FC is in many ways not Newcastle United FC.

People can obviously scream "rapist" at him all day long, and they are in many ways right. Why should one stop there though and do not ask what else might be of interest to him? Or is there a requirement to give a Cato-like statement after each such explanation attempt? Such as Ceterum censeo, Ashley esse repellendam! or the like? Just to make sure one's not suddenly put into the pro-Ashley faction?

Why would you assume Ashley has not been the main protagonist all along?Green was a lacky the question is who's lacky? Has Ashley not been the main beneficiary since admin? Would those holding the reigns not be the biggest benefactors? Why else would CG allow him to take the retail deal for nothing and all the other bits and pieces?
  8. McCoist is going, bring in who ever the choice for the new manager is now (call him Director of Football or what ever you like).

Let him deal with the contracts of who he wants to keep and more importantly allow him to start work looking at new signings, bosmans etc.

We surely can't let that clown award new contracts or sign new players for next season.

Llambias will be in full control of football matters as well as financial as he was at Newcastle. He went after players suggested by Barr and dealt with contracts and renewals favouring long term deals. He quit Newcastle when they removed football matters from his control and brought in Kinnear. Doubt very much he will back the starting of a D.O.F.

Manager wise he was recorded telling Newcastle fans he likes a manager who can fight his corner and tell it how it is.
