  1. that was when we had hope for a brighter future and thought our cash would be used to support that hope.We all put up with shit football at times but not as a constant level for ever more

obviously the guys i speak too are too small a number to extrapolate what the greater support think. Out of 6 of them, all who have been season ticket holders for over 18 years say they are not missing it when they expected they would and have no intention of coming back. Before it was wont be back until they see big changes in infrastructure and where their money goes now its not sure they want to go every other Saturday now and they have x amount to spend. Thinking of just sticking to euro trips etc.

  2. Northern Ireland store now closed.Think the airport one is going also.

Take it the merchandise deal works......

SD have full say on all matters with any dispute settled by sd taking full control for half last years profit(£1.8m). All stock levels , quality control and pricing is decided by them

We pay for surplus stock, so SD can order the manufacture in bulk to lower selling price to suit SD stores low pricing. with us paying for the extra stock out of our cut of profit.

profit is split on 51/49% after costs are deducted and held in accounts till end of retail season when all surplus stock is accounted for and charged from our half of profit at a rate higher than retail value? Remainder is then paid to us? Basically on paper we get the majority share but in reality they get the larger monetary number? So for £7.6 m turnover they get around £2.2 m we get around £1.4 m profit with payment during next season? Taking it the £411,000 comes from our profit margin and is not already deducted from turnover since we pay it? could be wrong. 52% costs do seem huge in clothing?

so to match the £3 m return we used to get. turnover will need to be around what £16 m+ at that level of cost (52%) plus £411,000 surplus on every £7.6 m??

this is my rough guess not actual so don't go mental! done the math in my head so take it with a pinch of salt!!

  3. Will be very surprised if we get to the start of next season debt free(large share issue wiping out debt accumulated this season) even if that happens we will still start next season with the club in a terrible position football wise needing large investment in scouting etc and a squad minus the out of contract players that we have no cash to replace with anything other than reject freebie players and a reducing wage structure(less than 26%) going against them with £19 m spent on first team. With only £1.389 ish m due from this years accumulated retail minus deductions(guessing that is why it is held).

Only real difference will be we are still f**ked but now minus another revenue option facing a season of complete embarrassment hoping to beat all the rest and qualify for Europe. So where are we? back in debt needing European football to fund the squad with the non qualifiction in Europe sounding the death knell

  4. Quite a number of their 46m population live and breath football though.

If Rangers and a low level Spanish/French/Italian (and so on) team go for the same player and both offer the same wage 99 times out of a hundred they will pick the Spanish side, that's why we have to offer larger wages than the average Spanish sides. Same goes for any of the decent euro leagues. If you want players to come to Scotland you have to pay higher than the other leagues offer, that or stick to Scottish players and other players not wanted by teams in professional European leagues. if you do that our season ticket prices will need to drop in line with the standard of player and along with those of lower European standing and in line with the wage budget on show, exasperating the problem till we are at a standard that is no longer attractive to 30-40000 fans. If we do not spend on wage bills that attract European standard players then we cannot charge as if we do. Whats the point in having 100 odd staff and a stadium that seats 50,000 and Murray park when you are putting nothing better out than what on the world stage would amount to an amatuer side ? You will not get 50,000 people every other week to watch the talent Scotland produces paying £400-£500 on average for the privilege of doing so.

The only way to do so on the cheap as we are attempting is to put the savings into scouting and rival the rest of Europe that way.Unfortunately that would take near on a decade to produce a name for ourselves that would attract young European players away from their home countries or those neighboring them. We do not have the luxury of time, our infrastructure does not allow it. Something has to give and right now it seems to be our quality of product and in doing so I am afraid we are signing our own death warrant.

  5. These wage bills shouldn't be required to win the SPL and be cannon fodder in Europe. To put it into consideration, only 5 teams in Spain pay as much as that on wages.

Though with the shambles that we are we'd probably need to spend far more than Celtic.

Spanish teams generally don't need to use cash as an incentive to encourage players to play in their league, their league is incentive in itself.
  6. marketing dept must be on low wages if twenty grand covers a couple of the. Being paid off is horrible ,remember when it happened to me a month before xmas. Was a kick in the balls but it didnt ruin my life.

not a fan of ian black but was the guy not working as a painter or a builder to make ends meat not that long ago?

The DR have cost the club more money by printing false one sided negative stories than ian black will ever cost us.

Obviously the DR would rather we cut costs from the football side rather than the admin as that suits their agenda of trying to kill us off. First team wage ratio is the lowest in the country i would bet,but shhh.

  7. Made a killing out of shares? Has he sold them? How much did he make?

what were the ipo introduction costs?

Ashley got £18m worth of contract for free with the contract signed with no contest against what he wanted.

Green was an employee and paid way over the odds.

    Shares for a pittance

    bonuses for team success

    housing allowance

    expense accounts

    car allowances

    pay offs

thats just some of the stuff us phlebs know of.

  8. We all do daft things. Mourinho doesn't shake hands at times and SAF hits players with boots. It happens. Doesn't affect their ability to do a good job though.

big difference from sticking the head on a player at the side of the park to losing your temper in the dressing room with your own players after a poor performance. Plus SAF didn't mean it!

Not so sure he's that good a manager either, football style is boring with long balls to back post every in-direct free kick

his stats although they only tell part of the story don't impress that much. 38% win record with Newcastle in premiership.

  9. personally don't think we should go for any British candidate they generally neither bring the type of football we desire or fit into our wage structure we can offer. Should say before i go any further I do not believe anyone within the club has the wherewithal to make any decision other than a bad one when it comes to management. Ashley's cohorts have shown over their tenure at Newcastle that they are no judge of manager and their choices resulted in millions of pounds wasted. Easdales and the rest show no history or suggest any real knowledge of football. King and co if they get in I imagine will go for the buddy route of selection

Think it should be more along the lines of an amalgamation than one person. To fit our wants we would need to drastically improve our budgets to attract a candidate that personifies everything we require.

Personally would like to see a strict disciplinarian with high motivational strengths able to encourage a "us and them" mentality with a no surrender attitude. Along with that an emphasis on technical training and an attacking mentality and style of play with an eye to young emerging talent.

first candidate in a Bilic mould the second with a dutch mentality/back ground or technical/youth based pedigree like Ian Cathro. would suit me. Obviously neither of they two would come only use them as examples.

Both will need to come from lower levels within Europe with a history of working as part of a team.

Unfortunately I dont think we have anyone at the club who has the personal knowledge or the contacts within the game to make that a reality, far more likely we will end up with a poor replacement from the usual suspects. X player or managed at low level in Scotland with one good year marking them out from the crowd.

  10. subs and tactics show only cowardness. everything is aimed at stopping the opposition and nothing either motovational or inspiring is present. The starting line up was embarassing. Cant think of a single thing at the club that is doing well nevermind showing the way. head to toe a shambles.

the dark years right enough where is the light.

ffs board take kings money and sort out the mess.

  11. Charles Green always said he was approached with the idea of taking over Rangers and refused then was approached by the same individual again and was convinced to do so the second time round.

For me goes without saying that person that stumped up and persuaded green would be the one who benefited the most from the takeover. fair assessment? Can't see someone going to the hassle then sitting back and letting others feed from the trough to a greater extent and to the detriment of their shareholding without being the main protagonist.

If so then the one who clearly benefited most from green being in position was the man who got the major contracts for zero. The man who was able to negotiate and sign contracts with no legal representation arguing the clubs side. The man even though held to 10 percent managed to still take the most profitable revenue streams for no outlay.

  12. slightly more than one years wage for them. most of that was from the tuped over wages. Down around £5-£6m now 35% of turnover recommended is 60%. Don't get me wrong the manager is terrible but that doesn't mean the wage bill should go lower unless of course you expect the ticket prices to drop in comparison. Not the managers fault the other bills are way out of proportion. Everything should be directed towards the team, that's why we go and how you attract ticket sales.
