  1. I will also renew regardless of who the manager is. If Ally is still in charge he will receive my full backing despite the concerns I currently have. To be honest, NOTHING would give me greater pleasure than seeing Ally and Iain Durrant turning the present situation around. Whilst I do have major reservations about their ability to do so, particularly based on the deteriorating performances since the turn of the year, I will support them until the powers that be feel that their time is up.

  2. one of the biggest areas of concern in the team IMO is MF. We lost Ness, Davis, Edu, McCabe etc and brought in one MF player - Black who to me is simply a ball winner who sits in front of the back four not a box to box midfielder as Ally & his coaches seem to think. Granted young McLeod has been excellent mostly but I believe we're expecting too much of a teenager in his first season. Hutton simply isn't good enough and Crawford hasn't really played enough games. Other than that the midfield has been made up also at times of other players playing out of position.

That summarised is a midfield well short of what's required behind which any back four would struggle. I simply never understood why Ally brought in just one MF player before the transfer window shut last August when he lost just about all of them from the previous season. That was asking for trouble

To be fair to Ally I'm not convinced that was really down to him. He was on record saying he felt we needed four or five bodies as the transfer window was closing and we ended up with Templeton only. I think he genuinely felt that Green would have delivered a few more signings.

  3. It's the right thing to do, you're a legend but this job just isn't for you.

With every passing week it is becoming harder and harder to disagree. Today was an absolutely disgrace and embarrassment, arguably the worst result at Ibrox in our 140 year history.

  4. Why was Kal Naismith playing there again today? nothing against the lad but he's a striker & playing there is not his position.

Couldn't agree more, didn't do the boy any favours sticking him out wide and out of position. Looked very uncomfortable and lacking in pace. Hope we don't persevere with this..for everyone's sake.

  5. if he doesn't, i do. we aren't even any fitter than these part time teams who often finish games stronger than us. theirs a few reasons for that. one is how little of the ball we get and how little work we make the opposition do.

Totally agree about the fitness levels, we don't seem to have anything more in the tank than our opponents despite the state of the art facilities etc. Strangely, at the start of the season I felt the opposite and particularly at Ibrox where teams started to run out of steam after about 50 minutes. This hasn't been evident since the turn of the year and in fact both Montrose and Elgin have snatched late goals in games at Ibrox, finishing the game looking much stronger than us. You do have to wonder if the players are getting an easy ride now that the league is effectively won. If so, completely unacceptable and a real cause for concern.

  6. For the avoidance of doubt, I wasn't questioning you rbr. I was simply keen to get your inside track on what had really gone on during the PLG era. My own view was that he vastly underestimated Scottish Football and that proved to be his biggest single mistake.

  7. Utter rubbish , so he failed at 3 other clubs and at international level because of 9 months at us , laughable

    Can you elaborate, within reason?

Going back to the subject matter of this thread, how many times in the last ten or fifteen years have we read about similar arrangements with various other clubs that to my mind have produced next to nothing? These proposed tie-ins are a good story at the time but in my view they never materialise and don't deliver.

  8. Should Jim Traynor not be appearing on these panel shows in order to get the facts across, is that not what he is paid handsomely for? Seems a bit incredible that this all falls on the shoulders of Chris. Whilst Chris always comes across well in these situations, Traynor is the heavyweight (in every sense of the word) in these matters.

  9. Not so sure about that, my imagination doesn't stretch that far but you may well be right! Whilst King has unquestionably had his own problems my overwhelming feeling is that he does have the best interests of Rangers at heart and I would personally like to see him involved in the future.

  10. Hope he stays in SA.

King has called it right since the start of this mess and I feel he might yet have a bigger part to play again in the future. Much will depend on whether he gets his day in court with SDM. Clearly he still feels that he was misled when making his initial £20m investment (in terms of alleged non-disclosure as to how the Club was being financed). King indicated that any favourable settlement in respect of this action would be ploughed straight back into the Club. It would be good to think that this may still happen. I do have my doubts that he would be willing to invest fresh capital whilst Charles Green is calling the shots.

  11. him too. and we done it with ricksen as well. the only ones who were consistantly decent were adam and albertz. its a part of the game we completely neglect. and its so important too.

Agree, you do wonder what they do all day at Auchenhowie and I don't just mean since Ally McCoist took charge. Generally the set pieces have been poor since Albertz, Van Bronckhorst and R De Boer moved on. I think you are being slightly generous with Adam although he did have a few good moments. Very poor indeed.
