We took the best that we could get in those heady six days of signing whatever flotsam was available. Now, a two year contract seems excessive but he had to attract an experienced player any way he could.

Lee McCulloch feels his team could be on the verge of a special season
barca72 replied to SteveC's topic in Rangers Chat
Let me ask you something, do you watch RangersTV.tv? They have this feature running right now that is called 'ON THIS DAY ...' and it shows you matches from previous Rangers' games in years past.. I just watched the game on Feb 10 2010, and it was between Motherwell and Rangers at Fir Park. This team as far as I remember was McGregor; Broadfoot Weir Bougherra Papac; Davis McCullough Naismith Whittaker; Boyd & Miller. Subs in the second half were Novo & Lafferty. For a start the pitch was a coup, and the standard of football from Rangers in the first half was worse than atrocious. It ended in a 1-1 tie, with Boyd equalizing late on in the second half. Motherwell had a perfectly good goal knocked off for offside. The point is that team was probably worth 50 million pounds or so, and you keep knocking the present day side as if it was the worst ever. It's not. This kind of poor football is Scottish football, with a few exceptions now and again. In the past month or so there have been an awful lot of games, from Souness through Smith-2 that have been hard to watch. Big punts up the park and missed passes under five yards. I don't know exactly what it is you are lamenting because really, it is not too much off of the standard as exhibited in these past games and yet we won trebles etc. Bud, it is what it is. -
The exam will have to wait until next season now. Sorry wrong thread.
-
This is spot on.

You would think that, even if there is a nominal cost to the club for the process, Mr. Wallace and the board have already forwarded a request. At the very least we would force the SFA's hand and see how they are going to jump.
-
Amms, I don't know if you are going to get a satisfactory answer to your question of why the TLB is almost universally hated by anyone other than the paedo-loyal. Everyone you ask will have a different point of view, but evidently the emotion is there. My consensus would be that the verbal abuse is alright ( the fans pay their money, they get their say ), but no one would condone the physical abuse. It may entirely remain one of life's little mysteries. Someone said in a previous thread a while ago, that we all like to put people in little boxes. I would say that for me Mr. Lennon fits comfortably into the box labelled - 'Street Ned'.

Since you're sure, I guess we can be sure that you've seen the report, then?

Did the SFA, in the interest of proving that Whyte - whom they had previously banned as an individual who should not be involved with any team in Scottish football - had no connection with anyone at Rangers, request to see this report? Subsequently did they take no action? Surely this implies that there was no proven connection between Green and Whyte, otherwise they would have conducted their own investigation.

From a previous post I made ... http://www.uefa.com/....0_DOWNLOAD.pdf Extraordinary UEFA Application ANNEX IV: Extraordinary application of the club licensing system 1. The UEFA administration defines the necessary deadlines and the minimum criteria for the extraordinary application of the club licensing system as specified in Article 15(1) and communicates them to the UEFA member associations at the latest by 31 August of the year preceding the licence season. 2. UEFA member associations must notify the UEFA administration of such extraordinary application requests in writing and stating the name of the club concerned by the deadline communicated by the UEFA administration. 3. The UEFA member associations are responsible for submitting the criteria to the club concerned for the assessment for the extraordinary procedure at national level. They must also take immediate action with the club concerned to prepare for the extraordinary procedure. 4. The club concerned must provide the necessary documentary proof to the licensor that will assess the club against the fixed minimum standards and forward the following documentation in one of the UEFA official languages to the UEFA administration by the deadline communicated by the latter: a) a written request to apply for special permission to enter the corresponding UEFA club competition; b) a recommendation by the licensor based on its assessment (including the dates and names of the persons having assessed the club); c) all documentary evidence provided by the club and the licensor as requested by the UEFA administration; d) any other documents requested by the UEFA administration during the extraordinary procedure. 5. The UEFA administration bases its decision on the documentation received and grants special permission to enter the UEFA club competitions if all the set criteria are fulfilled and if the club ultimately qualifies on sporting merit. The decision will be communicated to the UEFA member association, which has to forward it to the club concerned. 6. If such a club is eliminated on sporting merit during this extraordinary procedure, the UEFA member association concerned has to notify the UEFA administration immediately, and this procedure is immediately terminated, without further decision. Such a terminated procedure cannot be restarted at a later stage. 7. Appeals can be lodged against decisions made by the UEFA administration in writing before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in accordance with the relevant provisions laid down in the UEFA Statutes. So, according to this, we the club have to apply to the licensor, the SFA, for consideration for them to forward a request to Uefa. Quite apart from any resistance from the cabal, we would have to overcome time restraints. This application should be sent now. Although the whole request would be based hypothetically on us winning the SC, look at the first line in para 6. Uefa it appears, has anticipated such a scenario. If we don't win the cup, then they just drop the application. If we do win the cup and wait until May, and the EL qualifiers start in July, then we give the SFA further reason not to start the application, i.e. not enough time. Also, it would appear that we have to apply in the season before we wish to participate.

First of all, when you quote my last post don't be adding any words that were not included in that post. I am not building Ally up with any exaggerated hype, I simply stated where he has us at so far this season. Now as I see the situation, the difference between you and I is that you feel that we are entitled to be handed these 'diddy trophies', whereas I think we have to work for every thing we get. If you remember at the start of last season we had about a week to grab whatever free transfers we could get before the sanctions hit. The standard of football we played was not good but we won the league and progressed, that was real. At the start of this season we were able to grab 9 more 'frees' after the sanctions were removed. All we have spent so far is wages, a bit high perhaps but we are still in existence and progressing in 3 of 4 competitions, that is real. In the last window we could not afford to buy anybody because the spivs had first dibs on our funds, that is real. I should say I admire your passion and ambition for Rangers, that's great. However, I do think your expectations at this point are unrealistic and it might suit you better to ratchet back the rhetoric. Whether you will 'have it' or not, the situation is what it is. I think I can safely say that there are none among the hundreds of thousands of Rangers' fans worldwide who do not firmly believe that we shall once again rise to the top echelons of our sport. The only question is how soon this is attainable, realistically. In the meantime, get used to the smell of shite, it may linger for a while.

You are one tortured individual about Ally's status at the moment. He has us 20+ points clear in the league, in the Ramsden's Cup Final, and we have just witnessed an emphatic and reasonably well-played game to get us into the quarter-final of the SC. With the other results in the SC to be enjoyed this weekend, just what the fuck is your problem? If we get to the semis of the SC and the team plays terrible and gets knocked out, then you can start your lamenting. Until that happens can you let the rest of us enjoy the osmotic joy of anticipation? I have supported Rangers for 59 years and I don't remember a season, not one, where there was not at least a few shite games. Thank you.

[quote=ian1964;464617 By ROBERT McAULAYPublished: 1 hr ago COPS are probing chilling threats made to footie chiefs at Aberdeen in the wake of the yob attack on Celtic boss Neil Lennon. Worried top brass at Pittodrie called in detectives as soon as they received the menacing letter. I can't read the small writing, but is the implication that the threats are being made by more Aberdeen yobs or by Celtic yobs?

They're keeping that match for the final in the Paedodome, that way their little cabal - Liewell, Milne & Thomson - will all benefit from the final's riches. What's the betting we get Jig & Mohsni suspended just before the semi-final?

Supporters Direct chief calls on Rangers fans to unite...

Can I suggest a compromise position? Would the insiders who know what went on and what is going on agree to inform the rest of us who do not have that insight, when the appropriate situation presents itself; tell us all of the facts? If this can be told in a reasonably timely fashion, would everyone show some patience? We really do not need to, as a support, self-destruct like this. -

Here is the latest from Footballtaxhavens. Surely there is a possibility that this could impact the CG athletes themselves. Why is this not in the MSM? Does anyone know a foreign journalist who may be interested? http://footballtaxhavens.wordpress.com/2014/02/06/more-verification-on-westhorn-land-2/ More Verification on Westhorn Land Posted by footballtaxhavens ⋅ February 6, 2014 ⋅ 2 Comments Filed Under Celtic FC, Commonwealth Games, Glasgow City Council, Westhorn Verification no.1 The map above is from the Clyde Network Green Network Strategy document created in 2007 by Land Use Consultants. It was prepared for Glasgow City Council, South Lanarkshire Council, Scottish Enterprise, Communities Scotland and the GCV Green Network. So the document is endorsed by all those bodies. Westhorn in Yellow is classified as ’Occasional inorganic & organic contaminants‘ – that is low contamination. While the Commonwealth Athletes Village at the river bend is classified as Blue which means ‘Elevated concentrations of inorganic/organic contaminants‘ – which means high contamination. The Commonwealth Athletes Village had much more contamination than Westhorn. So when Glasgow City Council want to show their ‘Green environmental‘ credentials there is little impairment however, also in 2007, when they want to show their ‘Green Celtic‘ credentials the impairment was suddenly higher to make a ‘valuation’ lower for a sale. Suddenly there’s an 84% impairment. Who would you trust – Land Use Consultants whose document in the public domain & whose reputation is backing the document or Glasgow City Council that keeps a Geotechnical document hidden from repeated FoI requests? I hope when Glasgow City Council cleared the land for the Commonwealth Athletes Village they re-mediated the soil, dug it up & replaced it with clean soil. And that the residents living close by were advised to remain indoors & keep their windows closed? Verification no.2 The aerial photograph above was taken in 1952 of Belvidere Hospital in the foreground and just beyond is the Westhorn land and the neighbouring property is fields as was stated in the previous post, a dairy farm. It’s just fields and fields …. I would like to thank the persons who sent both pieces of information above. .« Doubts on Impairment on Westhorn Land.Discussion 2 thoughts on “More Verification on Westhorn Land” ho ho ho ho ho how the fook can they get away with 84% reduction in price yet the athletes village is built on contaminated land. Posted by drew p cock | February 6, 2014, 1:11 pm Reply to this comment I googled contaminated land sold in Glasgow and came across a file from sepa.org unfortunately it’s not on a web page it just goes straight to a pdf file but it states that 4.6 Public registers The Contaminated Land (Scotland) Regulations 2000 set out what information local authorities are required to place on a public register. This information relates to: the location and extent of any formally determined contaminated land sufficient to enable it to be identified; the name and address of the person who claims they have carried out remediation; a description of anything claimed to have been done by way of remediation and the period within which it is claimed each activity was performed. Appendix B contains a list of local authority addresses where the public register relating to the contaminated land regime can be viewed. The prescribed information for special sites where SEPA is the enforcing authority, please go to the appropriate regional office for the area in which the contaminated land is situated. couldn’t find glasgows public register of contaminated land online but to give an idea of what is in a register here is an entry from aberdeenshire 1 Former Blackdog Landfill Pollutant Linkages: 1. Leaching of hydrocarbons and percolation through the unsaturated zone to groundwater. Pollution of controlled waters is occurring. 2. Migration under gravity of free phase hydrocarbon from wastes deposited in the unsaturated zone and floatation of free phase hydrocarbon to the water table from wastes deposited below the water table. It appears he googles a lot. Here's his latest ... http://billmcmurdo.wordpress.com/2014/02/04/return-of-the-special-one/ ... A wee note on my recent mention of an “undercurrent of bigotry” towards Jon Daly from some in the Rangers support. This is definitely there but it has to be emphasised that the vast majority of fans have no issue with Daly’s background. It is a very small minority who have a problem with Daly being from Ireland and Roman Catholic. And that is exactly what I am saying. As one poster pointed out in the Comments section, it is only to be expected that there would be some who objected to Daly’s being an Irish Catholic and it is preposterous to claim otherwise. For my part, as a footballer, I have always rated him as a robust centre forward who, on his day, is a very dangerous striker. I was happy when Rangers signed him and I still like him in the team. There are those who say I am lying about sectarian abuse by some Gers fans directed towards Daly. I have pointed out to them that this stuff is easily found on Google. That appears not to be good enough for some but using a computer or laptop is not what I blog on so those who can’t use the Google machine will have to get tuition elsewhere. For regular readers of this blog only, I have compiled a list of online abuse directed towards Jon Daly. This will give them the ammo to shoot down in flames those who doubt my integrity. Sadly for these doubters and haters, the pesky facts again prove to be their undoing. Oh well, some never learn… Any regular poster only need ask for the list. The rest can Google. If they can…
