  1. While the salary quoted seems excessive, if £500,000 is the true figure, the comment re.the Scottish Second Division salary is absurd. Yes, Rangers are in the Scottish Second Division but the responsibility of running Rangers is huge. Strange that BBC are finding sources to reveal club business to them when they have been formally expelled by Rangers.
  2. Moshni seems to have done well in all of the games. Hope his wage demands are not unrealistic.
  3. To be fair to Der Berliner, Ally does create confusion with the way he lines up his teams. Too often last season, his players seemed pretty confused at times.
  4. At times, it is difficult to figure out how Ally's mind works. Signing Kenny Miller along with the decision to bring back average players, like Foster and Smith will hardly motivate the younger guys who have ambitions to break through. Same thinking applies to signing another goalkeeper!
  5. The great thing was that Jim Forrest, along with a young fellow, called Alex Willoughby, came through the ranks of our club and made fine contributions. Over recent years, perhaps we have lost our expectancy of the young fellows making good in our first team and instead have developed a "who can we sign attitude." Jim Forrest was a smashing player and the decision to discard him was shameful.
  6. Unlike many clubs, Rangers have a specialised goalkeeping coach on the payroll and if he is doing his job properly, I find it difficult to accept that we can justify bringing in someone else who will be an improvement on the three guys who are already there along with Bell.
  7. Maybe at the start of the game there were 2.5k Rangers supporters but it increased to 4k as the game progressed due to others being converted to the cause.
  8. Should Mr Traynor not be the main communicator on behalf of the club?
  9. Does anyone know where Ian Hart stands? He is the board member that is never mentioned.
  10. Craig is correct in saying that clever/devious colleagues can hide and disguise figures etc. However, while WS may have limited financial experience, he is certainly no fool. If he is uncomfortable with Stockbridge, our chairman, in his role, as the chief custodian of our club, is entitled to request some external source to verify what he and the rest of the board are being told. Now, I have no idea if WS has reservations over the quality of whatever Stockbridge is presenting to the board but Walter must be aware that amongst many supporters, the jungle drums are beating and the level of concern is growing. WS is in an unenviable position, as he has inherited a lousy situation but he is the one who needs to show leadership.
  11. The man is clearly hurting and possibly with good reason. I suspect that Walter Smith would have had reservations over a decision to accept the chairmanship of our club. However this open letter by MM and some of the contents cannot be allowed to pass by without a response on behalf of the board and this will require WS to show leadership, as chairman. The key quality of the supporters of our club is loyalty, which has been demonstrated in magnificent ways but there is a limit to what we can be expected to put up with.
  12. All of this leaves me in a state of confusion. Like many others I am out of my depth in the area of financial intrigue. However, I am not confused in the belief that all of the financial guys involved have no depth of concern for the welfare of Glasgow Rangers and their involvement is driven by personal financial gain. The contributors to this thread have highlighted conflicting views and that is entirely reasonable. However, the most worrying aspect of all this, is that no one seems able to offer solutions to the problems. Most of us just want to support the football club that commands an important part of our lives but right now, I can understand very well, how someone whose town has been taken over by an invading army must feel.
  13. I have no reason to challenge your assurance but the cost of a stamp will not deter me. I am sorry that you won't join me in a letter writing exercise. If it is correct that Stockbridge and Mather are in place to look after Ahmed's interests, that is terrible. I have huge respect for Walter Smith. You may recall after a semi-final at Hampden, he spoke out about the influence that Lloyds Bank were having on Rangers. To have two guys sitting alongside him on the board who are there to support Ahmed's interests is something, I just can't see Walter living with.
  14. Not everyone. I wasn't aware that our CEO and Financial Director who serve on our board have an allegiance to Ahmed. Your question is exposed to who? I am going to write a letter to Walter Smith to enquire if he is aware that two of his board colleagues are representing Ahmed's interests. How about joining me in submitting a similar letter. It is unlikely that you would find such a situation acceptable particularly at a time when most of us have made a financial commitment to our club.
  15. Maybe I am being naive but bringing people in and expecting them to continue to work as part of your team, irrespective of circumstances, which have arisen, is not something honourable people do. Ahmed moved out with many questioning his motives and credibility. If you are right, he has two henchman operating in very important roles in our club. Are you sure of your facts? If so, they should be exposed in a wider way.
  16. Gunslinger says" Stockbridge and Mather are part of Ahmed's team, always have been." Gunslinger, if you have evidence that this it is so that Stockbridge and Mather, who hold key positions are actively working to benefit Ahmed, you really can't sit on this evidence.
  17. Yes he did say that. He also said that if he didn't have a thick skin, he wouldn't be able to the job. Probably a slip of the tongue. He meant to say a thick head.
  18. Don't know whether this just another episode of mischief making. If the comments attributed to CG are true, someone should be asking him about the £10m. he said that he was going to give to Ally. I may be wrong but I seem to think that Charles was still around when the decision to freeze season ticket prices was taken.
  19. I found Ally to be totally uninspiring. I am beginning to understand why after lousy first half performances and half time team talks that our second half performances were even worse. Ally is smashing bloke but I just wish there was something to indicate that he had the capability to be the team manager of Glasgow Rangers.
  20. Looking forward to the book. Are there any plans for distribution to the supporters in North America and Australia?
  21. Is it just not possible that Gordon Durie has been appointed because he is considered to be a good coach?
  22. Just underlines how crucial Rangers are to TV deals. BT Sport will screen 40 matches with 25 per cent featuring Rangers.
  23. Rangers are too important to be ignored? That is what Mr Mathers thinks. Yes, Rangers haven't been ignored. We have been subjected to all sorts of things for the purpose of disadvantaging and causing pain to our club. The people on the SPFL board include those who went out of their way to make things difficult for Rangers and if Craig Mathers believes that they will be influenced by what is said on behalf of our club, he is being both naive and optimistic.
  24. Am I alone in feeling a sense of alarm at Ally brining in the Stephen Smith and possibly, Ricky Foster. Both are no more than average players and it is disappointing if our manager feels that he has no younger guys on the books who are likely to be at least approaching their level. A key quality in management is to motivate and I am not convinced that turning to Smith and Foster will do much for the confidence of some of the blokes who were hoping to progress.
