  1. In the past some of the UoF statements have been less than effective although their commitment to the Rangers cause has been always first class. This latest statement/exposure is well timed and very relevant. So well done and thanks to all involved.
  2. Very decent defender. Wish we had a similar player to play centre defence right now.
  3. Included in the statement are the words "despite a clear alternative being available." Perhaps someone could assist me. I have read words attributed to Mr King but am struggling to understand the precise nature of the alternative, which makes it so clear
  4. The thought that better players will be signed as a vehicle to gain entry to the champions league, while interesting, overlooks the fact that better players have little interest in playing in the Scottish league, as well as the greater financial benefits elsewhere.
  5. People like McMurdo seem to attract interest on this forum and others. Suspect that the vast majority of those who support Rangers will not have heard of Bill McMurdo and are in no way disadvantaged by not knowing what he says or thinks . I am just a wee bit surprised that some of Gersnet contributors find McMurdo's utterances to be worth bothering about.
  6. While the silence from Dave King has been a huge disappointment to many, he is probably aware of the murky transactions that have taken place and who can blame him from keeping his distance.
  7. Quite a number of fans who have shown remarkable patience are at the point of fleeing because they are fed up to the teeth with the ongoing pantomime and are beginning to discover that there are other options available to devote their time to, which are preferable.
  8. Wallace continuing in his role as CEO and Ashley's involvement should be looked at as separate issues. It can't have been easy for Wallace with Sandy Easdale around but his 120 day report suggested that his reputation was too generous and his failure to get even the more straightforward items, included in the report implemented, confirms this.. If he goes, there will be better people around. As far as Ashley is concerned, we will have views and most certainly reservations but we will remain what we are, mere onlookers. It is a painful situation but sadly that's the way it is.
  9. I genuinely respect the work, effort and all that the Sons of Struth are seeking to achieve to try and remedy a lousy situation. Just wonder how many of those who go regularly to Ibrox and the others who for good reasons, can no longer attend, will know, who the Sons of Struth are. If the proposed meeting goes ahead, it would be helpful, if they could persuade some respected Rangers man (not so many around these days) to come and identify with the purpose of the meeting.. As someone who lives on the McGills bus routes, the decision to continue to continue to give them my custom doesn't present a challenge. Bit silly to think that too many people would be likely to inconvenience themselves.
  10. Of course, Celtic are ahead of us right now but this 10 year thing is a load of nonsense. Celtic are an average team, who are numerically stronger than all the teams they are playing against. They should have better players. However, just what the basis is for a 10 year advantage is difficult to understand. Really good players have no interest in playing in the Scottish League. Goodness knows what the future situation will be at our club but the way things are going our league here in Scotland is unlikely to have progressed much in 10 years and the league championship could be won by an average team with average players. I know that the future is bleak at Rangers but surely our aspirations can stretch to our team consisting of sufficient average players, who before 10 years have elapsed should be able to challenge Celtic.
  11. Not sure that assurances from Graham Wallace carries much weight. and the capability for this group "to ensure that it is a meaningful body" will rely on a different approach from those calling the shots at our club. However, it is only reasonable to give the elected people an opportunity to try and influence things. No doubt the "they don't speak for me brigade" will not remain silent for very long.
  12. I am just a wee bit surprised why folk like yourself Bearger would choose to declare your voting intentions. Many considered that this was something that should remain a private matter.
  13. It wasn't that long ago that there was 35,000 plus turning up to watch Rangers playing very poor teams. Many who have now stopped coming are just men/women, whose patience with those who have treated them with indifference to the point of contempt, has become exhausted. When people become fed up, in any walk of life, there is a tendency to walk away. That probably happens in Alberta, as well, Wasp. No one is doubting that you put money into the club through Rangers TV but I suspect that the width of the Atlantic might contribute to you not fully appreciating the ongoing suffering that many home based Rangers people have experienced.
  14. The guys who put out the statements seem good blokes, whose passion and concern for our club, is admirable. However, does anyone believe, that we are not embroiled in a losing battle. The people running our club have their own agenda and in spite of much of what is written within the statements being sensible and relevant, they are treated at best, with indifference. Wish I could think of a way forward that would carry some impact but I can't.
  15. The current situation at our club presents various people to engage in ego trips with the opportunity to "provide" information that is at best, open to challenge. Suppose this will continue until such times as our board can explain just what is happening. Mind you, if the reported differences at board level are true, our wait is unlikely, to be a short one.
  16. The others who have asked Easdale to be their front man are unlikely to be fools. Easdale comes across as, at best, an average business man and someone with below average communication skills. I don't know the answer but am curious why the "others" have lined up Sandy Easdale to represent their interests.
  17. "Blame has to be shared about." Many firms go through bad patches when their sales dip. M&S was a recent example. Don't recall any firms saying that it was their customers who were to blame.
  18. In any decent organisation, a chairman is expected to provide leadership, direction and vision. The willingness of those who are the so called custodians of our club, to allow an old boy from Sussex, who has little interest in football, let alone Rangers, to occupy the position of chairman, is just another indication of how indifferent they are to the concerns of the men and women, they are looking to give continued support.
  19. Ally will know only too well that he is under pressure and there was no way that he was going to take chances albeit against lowly and very mediocre opposition. I totally agree that his reluctance to introduce younger players is both discouraging and short-sighted but understand his decision to play a strong side last night.
  20. Maybe we need to note that this is only a rumour. Most of us will have lost count of the number of "Rangers" rumours that have circulated over the past couple of years and have lost count on the number that turned out to be garbage.
  21. You are correct TG, it is pretty farcical. But how confident are you that those on the board will go along with your "end of" view.
  22. Not quite sure what David Longmuir's role would be at the club and am not quite sure either why his being spotted at Derby is an indication that we are going to hire him. Right now,, there are two vacancies that Mr Wallace has on his "to do" list. A director of football and more importantly, someone to head up the club''s scouting requirements. It has all gone quiet on these two fronts, which is disappointing.
  23. The UOF reply reads well. However, does anyone think that it will bring about a meaningful response? I don't.
